Yes! Fossil Gastly was a key card in my own WC STS deck. Free retreat, Fighting resistance, Lick paralysis, and late game Energy Conversion. How was no one else playing this?
Rattata is so good! I remember being young beating all my friends with no budget just using my older brother’s leftover cards. I would use only the basic cards that had 1 energy 20 damage attacks (rattata, machop, staryu) along with Raticate for extra hp. Pair these with lots of trainer cards (bill, gust of wind, plus power, energy removal, super energy removal, oak, etc) and very few energies needed and you could get offense going very quickly. My friends and their expensive holo cards and slower builds would just die because they couldn’t execute the strategy optimally or fast enough. It was amazing. I was the best player on the block with compete garbage deck, not a single star card and barely any diamonds. It was hilarious! I remember they would laugh at my ratatta and then lose hard
Please make a video on the discontinued fairy type!! Itd be super interesting. Ive been binging your entire channel, the videos have been amazing for relaxing to while im sick
Last time I beat the Gameboy TCG, I did so with only Rattata and Raticate. 20 damage on 1 colorless energy and 0 Retreat Cost isn't bad, but Machop slots in better to back up Hitmonchan and Lickitung makes a much better anti-Psychic tank. Raticate can 3 hit anything except Chansey and Charizard with Super Fang, but no human opponent is going to let you do that.
Also while a bit trickier due to the 2 Energy cost, Koffing could be argued as a hard counter to Lickitung due to being the best Confusion user in the Era-and with Old Confusion rules that punish both attacking AND retreating exploits Tung's high 3 Retreat Cost. On top of that if the Coin toss fails, it would get Poisoned instead...which *can stack* with the Confusion.
@@fawfulmark2 I play a Mewtwo/Magmar/Muk deck. Mewtwo's main purpose is to spam it's energy absorbion and Super/Energy Removal card. To stop the opponent from even being able to play the game. Magmar is there to deal with problematic cards that resist psychic. Against Lickitung it's one energy attack forces the opponent to flip to even use their attack, and it's second attack can inflict poison. The main counter to stall is to build up a hand and play Lass to shuffle back in all your trainers. So you can buy enough time to take all 6 prizes.
Weepinbell and Seaking are super underrated! They both have low cost attack for 1 energy dealing 10. While its second attack only needs 2 energy to deal 30 damage. Weepinbell first attack does have a chance to poison the defending pokemon. Good against Mr.mime invisible wall. Weepinbell would be great for a venusaur deck, and seaking being good for blastoise deck. Victreebel does let down Weepinbell, since Victreebel attacks are not good at all.
What perhaps stuck out to me the most in this list is that many of the cards on this list are here in large part of their paralysis attacks, yet the sole Electric card on this list actually doesn't inflict paralysis 😂
Come on, no love for base set Dragonair? It is the Golduck theory only: +no weaknesses +resistance to psychic + Colourless energy cost for hyper beam Granted psyduck is better than dratini, the Golduck line's dual energy types in attacks is clunky and expensive. The dratini line fit into other decks easier and get more out of double colorless and their resistance
I uses that lickitung in my charizard deck 😊. It buy me time, also i use the magmar with smokescreen attack, a great duo. The only card i not use but if i play again i add it is powerplus. My deck wins almost every good deck in the format in that time 👍.
Can you make a video about the discontinued Fairy Type in Pokemon TCG?
Same for dragon
@@justaadhdgamerwesley6244Dragon types are still made
Dragons are very much still around, and are ruiling the meta rn@@justaadhdgamerwesley6244
@@SneaValtotally owned him bro
You can still use the cards, just not the energy. Lmao
After watching this I want to rush home and build a golduck Lickitung deck in the GBC game.
I found that poisoning Lickitung is a good way to deal with it. That heavy retreat cost keeps it locked in play.
Anyone who underestimates Lickitung will end up getting licked by it
Are you going to cover Pocket TCG? I’d like to know where all the artworks originated from etc.

two words in and i recognized this voice from many years ago of watching WoW top tens or something alike it, so cool to see you into pokemon too

Lol the pokemon TCG commercial had some nerd kid talking about how Electabuzz is statistically the best card in the game
I didn't know about the pokemon channel!!!! Like it by far more than the Yu-Gi-Oh one

Raticate can still 3 hit Chansey and Charizard with +power, no?
TCG Pocket being very popular and people having newfound interest in old pokemon cards
The DexLogs: STONKS
I remember playing a Rapidash/Marowak deck back then. It won a lot... I must have been really lucky.
Lol I came here to say agility rapidash for the gamblers out there
People have adapted to Lickitung by running Machop instead of Hitmonchan, because it has one less retreat cost.

Great video! I'd love to see one about attacks that cost 5 energy in the TCG!

I was thinking about Dragonair too, plus the option of Dragonite for it's ability is nice
Great vid! Will you make any Pocket content?
Yeah we have some in the works. But we work on a really long production schedule, so you wont see them for a while I'm afraid D:
@@thedexlogsdexlogs Just hearing that is enough to be exciting, thanks again for all the hard work!
Can you do a video on top 10 most powerful turn 1 cards?
Cards like Carmine, Shamen EX, and Squakability EX
You should make a video on the TCGP as that game is getting a lot of people into the trading card game now
Can you make a video on the best break cards or if they were bad why they failed
Ratata is kinda crazy, I've been singing its praises for years
Do Top Prime and Top Gen 3 ex Cards next.

👅was hell in the GB video game that was of this format.
now I know why.
Welp, time to put another 100+ hours into the GBC TCG game trying out new deck ideas :3
Underrated Gen 2 next or ecard!
