I’m glad the video is laid out this way. These types of videos are created assuming you already know what’s gonna happen, which is never the case in a movie like this
How to beat the escape room: don’t accept a random invite from some mysterious organization you don’t know promising 10k with no actual proof you will even actually receive 10k. The characters in this movie did the equivalent of clicking on a pop up ad promising a Best But gift card in flashing red letters of hot singles in their area.
This movie reminded me of this one time my family and I entered a real escape room. It was from a small company and they forgot that they left us in the room after it closed. When the time ran out, no one had entered the room to let us out. And all of our "hint calls" were used up. So we had to escape ourselves. We kind of just guessed everything. When we left, we realised it was closed so we called the number of the escape room to let us out. It was kind of jarring after watching this movie. So yeah. The theme of the escape room was trying to find out what happened to missing people who entered it so yeah, it was pretty scary.

The sequel should be called "Escape Tomb" because the word "tomb" sounds like the words "two" and "room" mixed together also everyone dies and is buried

I thought this was going to be a bootleg version of Nerd Explains but you did enough to differ yourself from him. I quite enjoyed the analysis of this how to beat.
Do keep in mind that while Nerd Explains's How to Beat IS pretty good, he did NOT invent the How to Beat genre of videos. Assuming HitStart's was a "bootleg" just sounds disrespectful since these sort of videos are only done by a handful of other UA-camrs in the first place.
@@huvothoughts You didn’t read my comment throughly did you? I *praised* him for differing himself from Nerd Explains and I never said he made the genre. He however did *popularized* it imo. He gets millions of views each video and was one of the earliest people doing them. So saying he popularized them is fair to say.
Great video:) Agreed, watching people work together is essential. It's so refreshing to watch a "Saw-esque" escape-from-a-room movie, without any of the morality stuff. Just a straightforward: here's a room, here are some puzzles, solve it or die.
My guess is that the pilot and crew are blackmailed or promised a large sum of cash to test the installed or prototype plane. The people on board are civilians with destinations. Maybe targeted or filtered with targeted advertising. The real trick is getting the main character to get onto the one plane, possibly by playing the Main into a puzzle, to find the right flight to take. A filter only the Main would understand. This is also a way to tie up a loose end, as the Main is very persistent in uncovering, yet also very willing to solve their puzzles. Idk just an idea.
The epilogue section makes mentions that they have effectively transferred the flights of the main characters to a different one, it can be assumed that they setup a flight themselves specifically for these two people.
Or they may be tricked into going on a fake flight that has just the two of them on it, and the staff shown doing the simulated flight will be the crew on that plane.
As others have said, the police aren't a magic number that gets through every time. Their still has to be the EM signal piercing surroundings to get to a tower, and if there is a dense enough material surrounding the signal, it will not get through, and so will not connect.
Zoey was a literal genius she stayed calm and was very careful she was very aware of her surrounding's and that's exactly what you need to do in this game
Same only difference is that I searched for escape room on youtube to watch reviews on it after I just watched the movie, and coincidentally HitStart just posted this video about it on the same day I watched it not too long ago lol.
Love how they have an entire cottage full of options the melt the ice block, like a fireplace and more. So of course sitting on it outside was the most logical choice.

I mean, since they had no way of knowing there was anything toxic on the handle I guess they couldn’t know before the fact, but one solution I thought of to the weird trippy room, as an outsider would be if they took off their shirts and put that on the handle before lifting
Ah, yes, the series where you can get murdered, get murdered with an axe, get a virus and die, get acidified by acid showers, get your head blown off with an explosive collar, discover that you are half cyborg, and die multiple times.
I think the “don’t touch anything without thinking carefully first” rule could’ve applied to the poisoned hatch. It was way too obvious of an exit so they should have considered the possibility of tactile poison.

You know, this would actually be a pretty neat escape room. A lot of interesting themes and locations along with really creative puzzles would be pretty fun to solve. Y’know, minus the pain and death of course
For those who don't know you can still call 911 even if you don't have signal, as the phone will automatically connect to the nearest tower regardless of your service provider and will allow you to call 911
These are real things. You beat an escape room and get high amounts of money so its kind of believable especially for people who are aware of the existence escape rooms
Someone who understands how radio waves work "You still need to be able to get a signal" Emergency calls just connect to any tower and make the call. Meaning if you didn't have signal from your provider, it would still go through. It won't do anything if you physically can't get a connection.
Man, you and CinemaSins are so likeminded. This is a direct quote from his video on the movie: "Yeah, what in this room could POSSIBLY weigh that last glass down!? Could it be... I don't know... *THE BOOKS?* I don't mean to be HEAVY-HANDED with this, but the intelligence of these people is WEIGHING DOWN the movie!"
12:47 I don’t think it would be possible to find a single drug that would cause this because in the end of the movie, when Zoey says, “When Ben wakes up, he’s confirm everything,” the detective states there were 3 illegal drugs found in his system. So clearly whatever caused the hallucinations was a mixture of many drugs, which is why the symptoms were so insane.

@@FalseProphetFallacy different things appeal to different people - many think that baseball is boring to watch, but playing the sport for 12 years left me with an undying love for it, and I don't think it's boring at all. it all depends on the person, really. it could've been a relative that really liked it and gotten them into the sport, they may have played it, or they just enjoy the action and excitement in game. to each their own
@@FalseProphetFallacy It's probably just a matter of personal preference. For me, I've always enjoyed football because it can be interesting to see all the different strategies and how they can alter the course of the game, although I'm sure that's different for everyone as well.
@@parkerberube606 I never understood the appeal of watching other people play a sport and cheering them on when you don’t know anyone from the team personally 😂
@@FalseProphetFallacy i dont think you can appreciate it without watching it for awhile. The more you know about the game, the more interesting it gets. Because of strategies, players, coaches etc.
the first dumb thing they even did was trust a little box that said they would get 10k from an escape room 💀
It's like one of those ads. If you have a bad day you might give them a chance
I mean they were chosen so the escape room would of found a way to get to them.

There's nothing wrong, but you think wisely. I mean, I would do it too.
After watching YMS’s reviews on the entire Saw franchise I thought the same
Bro these videos are so entertaining, keep this up my dude
The movie would actually have improved if they had fail attempts for 25% of this video. There were some obvious things I would have thought to do in the moment so it would be more effective to see those fail and the audience feels more shocked by their creative solutions. It had a good lil amount for me. Thanks Zoe.

I like how you go over the puzzles from a perspective where you DON'T know everything in hindsight. Of course, as the audience, it's easy to think that we'd know better, but we have the benefit of hindsight, which the characters don't.
So thanks for this particular layout.
I'll be patient for the next Saw Video, but these videos are still great
Gonna be hard to explain Saw 5.........lol
The sequel should be called "Escape Tomb" because the word "tomb" sounds like the words "two" and "room" mixed together also everyone dies and is buried

You should make a video about how to beat "The cube" its a movie
Also I love your content
nerdexplains
Just stay where you are
In the black and white room, if they all made it, I think Mike or Amanda would be strong enough to open it by them self, that way only one person touches the poison and they can use the Antidote
Great video:)
Agreed, watching people work together is essential. It's so refreshing to watch a "Saw-esque" escape-from-a-room movie, without any of the morality stuff. Just a straightforward: here's a room, here are some puzzles, solve it or die.
I'm confused at the ending though. How are they going to install the game on their flight? And doesn't it also mean that everyone else dies?
I guess we will see In escape room 2
Mike Wang true. I don’t remember that, so it didn’t come to mind. I might need to rewatch that ending to truly know... which I’ll do right now.
Or they may be tricked into going on a fake flight that has just the two of them on it, and the staff shown doing the simulated flight will be the crew on that plane.
They couldve legit called 911. You dont need service for 911.
But idk if they could do much.
As others have said, the police aren't a magic number that gets through every time. Their still has to be the EM signal piercing surroundings to get to a tower, and if there is a dense enough material surrounding the signal, it will not get through, and so will not connect.
ngl this movie was actually AMAZING. me and my dad watched it and we were impressed
Zoey was a literal genius she stayed calm and was very careful she was very aware of her surrounding's and that's exactly what you need to do in this game

They couldn’t get back in
I'd use it to break one of those windows and get back.
Me: Yeah, I like solving puzzles.
Rich white men: So, you've chosen DEATH
Anyone can look at a horror movie and say "here's how to not die: don't do (insert stupid mistake)"
But you take it a step further and say "okay, you've made the stupid mistake. Here's how you can still survive:" which I find really intriguing.
The race inclusion makes no sense. Rich people, yes. White people? Why specifically them?
@@Novarcharesk just following the stereotype and it's a just a joke. Of course there are rich pricks of every race out there. It's not that deep.
I would want this guy on my team in a horror movie.
Couldve also probably used the stuffing from the coat as kindling to atleast light a really small fire with whatever other dry ingredients they could find to speed up the ice melting process
what is strange is that you are talking about horrifying things but your voice is so soothing
Movies like these are good to laugh at for it’s stupidity like the saw ones. Keep up the quality content man!

9:10 Amanda would actually need to do a muscle up, not a pull up, which is much harder to get herself onto the pool table unless there was something nearby for her to put her feet on
Oh my god, how have I never heard of this movie! It's literally so interesting and even unique with everyone working together. I really gotta go watch the entire thing, thank you.
I mean, since they had no way of knowing there was anything toxic on the handle I guess they couldn’t know before the fact, but one solution I thought of to the weird trippy room, as an outsider would be if they took off their shirts and put that on the handle before lifting
This! Why aren't more people thinking of this?
They could’ve just peed in the cups tbh
You can't use items that are nailed down or are otherwise designated non-interactive. Zero Escape series is best escape series.
After watching this movie I will never go to any escape rooms again especially if I'm offered $10'000. Better be safe than sorry.

Saw this movie in theaters with my friend and brother on our first shroom trip. Couldn’t have been a better movie we stumbled across 😂
movies like these may not be great and all but I find them fascinating and fun
Its weird that they have official guards and all and it turned out to be some death trap, also who would even go to it in first place ?
These are real things. You beat an escape room and get high amounts of money so its kind of believable especially for people who are aware of the existence escape rooms
this guy paired with cinema summaries would be able to survive any horror movie
Imagine when he gets to The Game Master’s hall all he finds is a tape recorder that says, “Hello Ben, I want to play a game”
This channel is like a mix of Dead meat and Cinemasins and I love it!
"There's no signal so we can't call anyone"
Someone who actually understands how emergency calls work, "You don't need a signal to call 911"
Someone who understands how radio waves work "You still need to be able to get a signal"
Emergency calls just connect to any tower and make the call. Meaning if you didn't have signal from your provider, it would still go through. It won't do anything if you physically can't get a connection.
Looks kinda like you don't really know how emergency calls work after all :P

12:47 I don’t think it would be possible to find a single drug that would cause this because in the end of the movie, when Zoey says, “When Ben wakes up, he’s confirm everything,” the detective states there were 3 illegal drugs found in his system. So clearly whatever caused the hallucinations was a mixture of many drugs, which is why the symptoms were so insane.
