    Thanks for the video guys, would have been helpful to hear the noise the engine made with the problem though.

    Do you know if you can swap a 98 CBR 900engine with a 93 CBR 900 rr engine without too many problems?

      I'd check the specs to make sure the engi es weren't drastically different. Check the wiring harness part numbers. It would be a great question for a CBR900 forum honestly. Some folks would know a lot better than I would off the top of my head.

    I have same model, 87 000km and its burning oil, about 1l at 1000km, no blue smoke on idle, just smeel of burnt oil, only when RPMs hits rev limiter you can see a little blue smoke and when decelerating and downshifting hard also you can see little blue smoke, what do you think? Is the piston rings fried or valve seals is so bad, bike pulls good, top speed is 275-280kmh by the speedo

      I'd start with a compression test, maybe a leak down test too. It's probably rings but with those miles, anything is possible because sport bikes are generally ridden pretty hard.

    How many miles on this one? Mine has 30K miles and i'm wondering if it needs adjustment, i don't know its history but it runs fine.

    • @MotoMedic
      @MotoMedic  5 років тому

      I believe it had about 30k on it as well. A good rule of thumb is usually at 20k, then every 10k after that. I say it depends on how you're using the bike as well as other variables.

      Which basically means; Check them and have peace of mind knowing exactly when they were last inspected/adjusted.

      @@MotoMedic I tend to rev it's tits off when it's up to temprature alot of accelerating and decelerating. I'll have em checked out somewhere next month. Thanks for the reply and nice channel, deserves more exposure!
