A Sunday morning my (then) GF called me from her college dorm. Their drier had crapped out and nobody could be in to fix it for 3-4 days. I like ‘em dirty, but not that kind. Got there and all I had was my Maratac AAA and a PS4. Took the back off the dryer, removed the heating element (hopelessly caked with charred fuzz, scorched scrunchies, and enough used dryer sheets to make a proper sail boat sail. Took me 90 minutes with only those tools and I was a god among men that day. Never let anyone undersell you the efficiency and capability of a Leatherman PS4.

The pocket clip on the second knife he shows is kinda genius, it gives you the ability to suspend your keys/other stuff connected to the keys mid pocket, and thus reducing the prepper bulge by spreading it out rather than having everything in the bottom of the pocket

I've always like the Opinel knives. My grandpa had one I remember as a kid, it was strangely hooked and folded up so that the back of the blade stuck up kind of high. It was ALWAYS in his pocket and razor sharp. He cut everything from twine to "good money" twist tobacco with it. Nice to see the brand featured here.

You have the hummingbirds in several colors and one in plain grey titanium. The colored one will get scratched a lot on your keychain, the plain titanium one is probably your better choice. I used the Kershaw Cinder as my EDC working in the telco industry. The edge to handle angle allows it to do work beyond what the blade length would suggest. Opening boxes, cutting string, tape and light gauge copper wire, scoring the outer insulation on catV. Touches up easily on the edge of your car door window.

I am not sure if I agree with the idea of the open back being a positive on this style of knife. It makes it easier for a key or a coin or what have you to slip in there and mess up your edge without you knowing it.

Spyderco Ladybug 3 Hawkbill Salt H1 Steel - Fits firmly in my hand -With keys attached I don't lose it - Hawkbill given the size cuts rope, twine, cardboard excellently - stays sharp - Tip of the hawkbill blade works well for making precise cuts - Sharpens easily with the Spyderco sharpening tools - I used to regularly loose my little knives had this one for many years because of color and keys attached to it. It’s basically the same type of knife as a Swiss Army knife, but with a liner lock. I now carry the Civivi, and it’s just about the perfect keychain knife. I also have a 650 lumen flashlight on my keychain. It’s just so handy having these things on my keychain.

The Victorinox Rambler has been my choice for my primary EDC knife for many years, and I'm really glad to see KnifeCenter featuring it yet again. I do love the look of the Alox knives, but for my EDC knife, I really do want the toothpick and tweezers.
Before the Rambler, I carried a Midnite MiniChamp II, and it was just too bulky. The only things that could improve the Rambler (and the Classic) would be if Victorinox would improve the nail file, which is just really not suitable (too rough) for a lady's nails, and if they would improve the tweezers, as well. The current tweezers are too likely to break off or cut through a hair rather than grip it so it can be successfully pulled.
I don't actually carry my Rambler on my keychain, since, as a woman, I always carry a handbag, so I carry a small zipper pouch (about 3" x 5") in my handbag that contains my EDC survival gear.

I bought a Tekna when they first came out, around 1986. The sheath still has good retention. It's my DC on a belt loop and it's never snagged on anything. So light you don't even know it's there! The top of the blade is flat, so you can push with your thumb on tough stuff. The only downside is edge retention. I use it a lot, so I have to sharpen it every 7-10 days. I keep hoping they come out with a D2 or powder version.

I have gone through quite a few key ring knives. And they all seem to come open at some point in the pocket or break or the caps get loose and start coming off on the fix blade. So I decided to go cheap at $10 and bought the Gerber curve. It has been on my key ring now for two years. It holds an edge OK. Always sharp enough to open a box or even cut through a nylon band. So happy with the little blade I have gifted it probably seven times. I think I forgot to mention that the blade locks and also has two little screwdrivers and a bottle opener.

Very nice selection of keychain knives. I think a Tops ALRT 01 would be a good addition to the list.

Used to have a Spyderco bug on my keychain but now I now I carry a NexTool TaoBar, it replace the Lady bug and a countycomm prybar and is easier to open. I carry a Wave to so I always have a knife to. Also the Micra isn't discontinued, they even sell it on the leatherman website.

I didn't realize that Leatherman had discontinued it's Micra tool. I have owned a Micra for a while. The Micra has been very useful in my day to day work. I am in retail tool store management, and the scissors in the Micra are perfect for me. Even though, I have never really understood the purpose of a chisel ground blade, I really hate that the Micra will not be available any longer. I carry the Leatherman Wave, and the Micra as part of my daily work carry trifecta. I am one of those "overkill" guys and I also carry a dedicated pocket knife. Technically, the Wave on it's own is capable of everything I need, however, carrying all three at work makes access to specific tools much quicker and efficient.

My keychain knife is a cold steel supercut I like the look of the cold steel recon but the supercut is a fixed blade that doesn't remain attached to your keys Once out of the sheat

I couldn't believe that you didn't show the Boker USB OTF, but then I looked on your website and saw that you don't carry it, which is a shame, IMO. The Rambler was my favorite keychain knife forever, until I got the Mini-champ. You've mentioned the conflict with the placement of the split ring attachment point and the main blade on the Classic SD before...I got around that (when I carried one) by using a Nite-ize S-Biner micro lock to attach it to my keyring and would simply remove it for use.

Blasphemy, DCA. I have a Ladybug in ZDP-189 loose in a pocket (not on my keys) almost always. You need a super-steel to open packages and envelopes. Great episode, thank you!
