Rip Col. Knight . No kidding anyone this brought tears to my eyes. It was great that his Son was allowed to bring his Dad back home and Love field where he last saw his Dad leave to veitnam. So glad he's back home.
Biggest tear jerker ever....thank you!
Col Knight your wife raised a good man. So sad you couldn’t be there with them.
He got there in the end though
It doesn't matter how many times I watch this, I always cry 😢❤
Welcome home, Col. Knight. Your service will never be forgotten.
Wow...I'm crying. My step brother was in Special Forces in Nam. I am blessed in the fact he came home, alive.
God bless you. What an honor for you to do this for your father. RIP Colonel Knight
I am sobbingggggg. Thank you to Southwest Airlines for allowing us all (including the passengers on the flight and Captain Knight) to be a part of this. RIP to a hero.
I normally have a heart of stone but that cracked me...right in the feels!

Best video I've seen in years. Welcome back, Sir.
The water salute did it to me...tears running down my cheeks.
Check in your area the next time an Honor Flight is coming in to your airport with the Veterans. It is better than a Trump Rally.
smiles [ and a clean plane for photographs!! as well.]
No one left behind. RIP my fellow veteran. Let’s bring our guys home. And whoever disliked this video has no heart.
I think that sometimes "dislikes" are not of the video but meant to show sadness for the events leading to the post.

They were left behind
Government lied about their presence
Government lied about the cancers
YOU ARE A FOOL IF YOU THING GOVERNMENT (POLITICIANS) CARE.
@@milesdowning9257 Thanks for throwing negative shit in to sad but heartfelt story. Shame on you.
@@milesdowning9257 they arent left behind. Identifying remains takes a while and they dont want to bring non american bodies back.
Stolen valor
Such an honor for the little boy to bring his dad home 52 years later. That you for sharing.
As a fellow soldier from a different country. I salute you sir.
My allergies must be playing up tonight.
Welcome home, respect from Scotland, rest in final peace.
As a former ramper for SWA, it just shows the 'LUV' that we have for all the people in the world, and all the servicemen who have given there sacrifice for our country......RIP are fallen angel..🇺🇸

Thank you for all those who have served our country. 🇺🇸🙏💗
Many years ago I was blessed with the privilege of studying in the US for a year. I cannot express how proud I am of the way the United States of America, the United Kingdom's great friend and ally, honours those courageous and heroic service men and women that serve their country with the greatest sacrifice. Thank you for your service Sir.
Thank you for your kind words!
Your kindness means a lot. Thank you.
What an honor. As a Nam Vet I think this is a happy ending to a sad story. It truly does mean something to the motto, Leave no man behind. RIP Col Knight. God Bless you and thank you for your service.
Thank you sir
Thank you for your service. And welcome home, by the way.
I cannot even begin to imagine the honor & the emotion behind being the one to bring your father home! Welcome back home sir! You can rest in peace now
I just wonder at the emotions Captain Knight was feeling during that flight, knowing his father was right below him in the cargo bay. One final tribute to the father he never really got to know.
To bring back a falling soldier home is an honour, but being your farther is a greater honour. Never ever forget him...ever
I am a nurse who has worked in ICUs and in Hospice, and I have seen my share of tough bad things. But I am also the daughter of a 1st Cav soldier, and I an bawling my eyes out. God bless to the families of those that were found, and God give grace and strength to those who are still lost.
Thank you Col. Knight for your service and ultimate sacrifice.
Didn’t plan on crying this morning, but here I am. Such a moving story
I’m in tears. We lost so many during Viet Nam. God Bless.
Thank you Captain Knight for your impeccable service. I’m here today because of your sacrifice.
I'm sad and happy for you! I was a child then. I lost my dad when I was 21 and my heart has never healed. I would hug you if I could.
Sorry to hear about your dad mate.
How old are ya sir?
Who in the hell can dislike this video, makes me so angry.
A hero is returned home by his son... What an absolutely moving tribute and to see the reaction on the passengers; wonderful !!
RIP Roy and heart felt thanks to Southwest for making it possible.
So touching! God bless his family; his dad would b e proud of his son. Crying!
What heartless wretches would downvote this? Amazingly touching story, RIP
I’m so moved. What an honor. His dad could not have wanted it any other way.
Wow!! I love yoyr story. So thankful you got to at least fly your father home. Wish your mother and yourself peace after all these years. I grew upin the 60s. We knew someone who went missing and never came home.
Welcome home. Thanks for your service. Condolences to your family.
This is what REAL sacrifice looks like not a sports player, politician or Hollywood actor...
@Dylan Phillips it actually is many people loose friends family or home
It was an honour and a privilege to watch this video. Thank you for your service.
How beautiful is this story of a five year old, who lost his daddy in Vietnam & 52 years later he brings his daddy's body home. Magnificent R.I.P. Sir.
Speechless. I rarely cry and right now am sobbing like a child. Thank you to all who serve and the men and women who have madr the ultimate sacrifice.
With all that's wrong in the World, could this just possibly be the best thing we've heard in a long time?
Glen Nemeroff sure is
Yes
I'm not even American but as I view and listen to the story unfold, tears glisten in my eyes. Welcome home, Col. Knight and Rest in Peace.
I'm from South Africa. Southwest thanks for making this possible. Captain knight may yr dads soul rest in peace. It's an honor that he served his country. God bless
57yo ex Royal Navy vet here , with tears streaming down my face. I am so happy that the family finally have closure.
I got my father back from the Vietnam War, broken mentally and physically. This carried through until he passed away years ago. All he talked about throughout my life is his prayer or lost soldiers would be brought back home. I think he's up there in heaven smiling and happy to know this brave soldier was brought home. Such a heartbreaking thing for any to go through and in so happy their wish was granted.
That mom deserves so much praise for raising her kid properly. It's so easy for kids to stray from a good path without a father figure.
Dad and Son got to fly together. What a wonderful gift. He followed in his dad foot steps.
Amazing!! Welcome home brother, to the family, Thank You for your service and God Bless you all!!
You could hear the emotions from the controllers... Such a sad and yet beautiful moment
Yeah 2:35 you can hear her really struggling
She really struggled at 2:31
I wonder if we can get a video with more of the ATC commas especially the ground chatter setting up the emergency units for the water salute. I don't think taxiway Charlie would need to be closed for cleaning after that. Interesting piece more than I saw on national news.
Goodness how do you not shed tears from a story like this. We certainly will never forget such a heroic sacrifice. Though the was was before I was born, it’s because of heroes like these, that I have a free country to live in.
No words, just tears. Welcome home Col Knight.
Thank you for sharing and being a good American.
I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes Thank U Southwest for honoring a fallen warrior may all of our missing warriors be returned home
Dang-can’t remember the last time I cried so much watching a video. Rest In Peace Captain Knight and my deepest sympathies to the Knight family. 😭
What an honor for a son, as an airline pilot myself, I can only imagine how proud this Southwest captain must have been. Welcome home Sir, Thank you for your service....
Wow I started bawling with the airplane going under the jet of water. I can't imagine what that was like for the captain to drive under that. He looks just like his father. So sad to lose him at a young age but to have his remains back is unbelievable after this long.
An honour for the Son to bring his Father home may he Rest In Peace.
Wow ! You truly resemble your Father Capt. Knight. I was totally in tears after watching this story on you tube.
Especially when they said Captain Knights father was missing for 52 years, and the most beautiful thing about this story is that the 5 year old boy who watched him off with Mom and Grandma was Now the Captain who was bringing his remains home to be properly buried.
Congratulations Captain knight and the Knight Family.
And Thank you Sir for your service. R🇺🇲 I. 🇺🇲 P🇺🇲
That really got me. His dad would be so proud of him.
This is a Memorial Day must watch. Thank you Col. Roy Knight!
