@@TheCottons I am from Indonesia sorry I have just one question I am so superstitious about Freddie Mercury and his band especially mr. Freddie Mercury I am suspicious maybe before he go working Into The Stage maybe his eating something like feel to keeping the energy ro it's only pure Energy that is my questions
At an early Queen performance, Freddie was in the middle of performing when he pulled on his microphone stand with such force that it broke the mic stand in two. Rather than grab another one, he chose to just continue singing. He found he liked having the mic stand to play with on stage and began performing with it from then on. Freddie would use it as a prop, sometimes as his "air guitar", or conductor's wane, or to stretch his muscles or during some more lascivious gestures when it substituted for a certain part of the male anatomy (Freddie could get a little frisky on stage). According to Peter "Ratty" Hince, (Freddie's roadie), some of the cups contained water with honey and lemon, and others contained beer (usually Heineken). "He didn’t want champagne or sparkly water on stage (it made him burp). If the local water was good, it could be tap water, otherwise Evian or still mineral water." Another responsibility of Ratty was as the mic wrangler. Freddie would pass his mic to Ratty during live performances when he sat down to play the piano and Ratty would pass the mic back to Freddie when he would leave the piano to perform on stage. They actually rehearsed the passing of the mic between them so it would be smooth. "Another One Bites The Dust" was composed by John Deacon, Queen's bass guitarist. The "official" lyrics from the record are as follows (of course, during the live performances Freddie improvised a bit): Ooh, let's go Steve walks warily down the street With the brim pulled way down low Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet Machine guns ready to go Are you ready? Hey, are you ready for this? Are you hanging on the edge of your seat? Out of the doorway, the bullets rip To the sound of the beat, yeah Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone, and another one gone Another one bites the dust Hey, I'm gonna get you too Another one bites the dust How do you think I'm going to get along? Without you, when you're gone You took me for everything that I had And kicked me out on my own Are you happy, are you satisfied? How long can you stand the heat? Out of the doorway, the bullets rip To the sound of the beat, look out Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone, and another one gone Another one bites the dust Hey, I'm gonna get you too Another one bites the dust Hey Oh, take it Bite the dust Bite the dust Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust, ow Another one bites the dust, hey, hey Another one bites the dust, hey-eh-eh (Ooh, shut up) There are plenty of ways you can hurt a man And bring him to the ground You can beat him, you can cheat him You can treat him bad and leave him when he's down, yeah But I'm ready, yes, I'm ready for you I'm standing on my own two feet Out of the doorway, the bullets rip Repeating the sound of the beat, oh, yeah Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone, and another one gone Another one bites the dust Hey, I'm gonna get you too Another one bites the dust Shoot out Ay-yeah Alright
I think you just gave us the most balanced/truthful explanation of what was in the cup! Something about how you explained it sounds like it's the correct answer! 😂❤❤ That's a cool fun fact! I'll be looking out for ratty now!
Even with a rough sound or sore throat, Freddie sounds & looks amazing. The energy he put into performing is just so, so good. Notice, (well, you will notice as you delve into Queen) that if he could ever not hit the notes as written, drummer Roger Taylor was right there to back him up and fill out the sound. Unspoken support. No need to ask for it. They were right there for each other.
Yup. As a pencil or brush becomes an extension/externalization of the artists mind. Also something Freddie was familiar with. That mic and the stand could become, in a split second, any number of props from an imitation phallus to a guitar.
What a fantastic reaction dears, thanks so much!!! As a huge QUEEN fan I'm that's make me so happy! Welcome to the QUEEN experience and family, no regrets! A big hug for you both! 👑♥️
With show time approaching, towels and drinks for the band’s refreshment on stage would now be strategically placed: water and beer for Fred, beer for Brian and Roger and the Backstage Bar for John, comprising water, beer, soft drinks, wine and whatever spirit or cocktail he fancied at the time: Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila. - Peter Hince (aka Ratty), Fred’s and John’s roadie and head of Queen’s crew.
Didn't Freddie also have a honey lemon mixture that he would drink to keep things lubricated? I've heard this quite a few times, but didn't know if it was true.
@deborahallen3318 It was what he was drinking at Live Aid because he had a sore throat. You can hear him struggle a couple of times with the high notes. He was advised by a doctor not to do it.

Loved your reaction! Welp, you can tell by Freddie’s mood that you’re going to witness some uncontrollable lovable moves! This song was written by Queen bassist John Deacon!! And Michael Jackson who was a fan, loved the song so much that he encouraged Queen to release it as a single!! 👏👏👏
Beer on the piano, and water. John Deacon on Bass has a bar set up behind his amp stack and his roadie mixes him cocktails, he was a painfully shy person
Queen live is always phenomenal, but the official video for this is also a beast! Written by the bass player, John Deacon, you’ll hear it the exact way he wanted it to sound and Freddie’s vocal is killer. Back when this was released you couldn’t escape it on the radio. It was everywhere- especially in dance clubs. Great reaction!! We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions are always best together when live - Montreal would be my suggestion.
Freddie announced that he could no longer tour after this one. But they never broke up. They put out 2 more albums with Freddie and one after he died. Freddie also put out a solo album..Barcelona..with an opera singer.
Freddie was already feeling systems of Aids..he was diagnosed a year later. He just announced to the band that he didn't have the stamina to tour anymore. They still put out content, but never er toured. He announced to the band he aids a few years later and they all rallied around him, keeping it a secret and writing so he for him to sing. They were the closest at this time.
@@TheCottons he didn't, after this tour he didn't tour again because of his illness. He found out he was HIV positive after this tour and was diagnosed with AIDS in 1987.
His roadie Peter Hince says it was water and beer[1] . He didn’t want champagne or sparkly water on stage (“[it] made him burp”). If the local water was good, it could be tap water, otherwise Evian or still mineral water. Even though he drank water, in the early years he did so from champagne glasses. After an incident, he tried plastic champagne glasses, but found them tacky and switched to plain plastic cups. According to Hince, when Mercury sat down at the piano he handed the stick microphone over to him and got a fresh-made drink of hot honey and lemon in exchange to ease the throat.
Yall need to react to more queen LIVE performances especially at Wembley and the 1981 one. So many of their hits there was so good and the audience singing in UNISON was everything..
LOVE your reaction! IN THE CUP: The SMALL cup has tea w honey & lemon. The BIG cup is clear, so you can see that sometimes it’s beer & sometimes it’s water. SUGGESTIONS: Possibly the BEST version of “Another One Bites The Dust” is at MONTREAL in 1981 (Freddie barefoot in just short shorts/baseball cap, full of ATTITUDE) …It’s totally DIFFERENT from this, and Fred DOES sing all the lyrics in that one. For “We Will Rock You”/“We Are The Champions”… MONTREAL in 1981 as well. ALSO: “FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS” live at MILTON KEYNES BOWL in 1982… Freddie pole dancing!
I would recommend something controversial about the song: Staying Power, from the Queen live at the bowl 1982 concert. This song from the original hot space album much criticized then contains this song which was performed live and which takes on a totally different profile from original. It must also be said that in my opinion this live of '82 among the official products is the most aggressive Freddie ... 😂
