I’ve been licensed since September 2023. I feel that I’m not prepared. I feel lost, there is so much that they do not teach you in the real estate course and the veteran brokers are busy trying to make their numbers. I’ve invested so much money in this and I feel that it’s nit for me right now.

This is so true. Agents need to know the real deal up front, not too much how many acres in a square mile.

I agree but I feel that the brokerages are a huge part of the turnover with agents. There is very little transactional and sales training that gives you full disclosure, not a few pointers here and there. And when you do find the resource, it's going to cost you money. Many times, agents weren't expecting to have to pay for these coaching resources and there booming industry giants and people willing to show you the real deal at the real costs. And the "proper systems and following up platforms" will cost as well. And let's not get started on IT. So overall the new and seasoned agents are giving up more and more money to operate a day-to-day business. That's why coaching programs are making so much money. Agents want answers and details. I personally feel as an agent that it's designed this way. And unfortunately, I have heard top agents talk about it being only a matter of time before most will subside and they get richer.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOF this is one of them topics where in a way yeah it could be on the school, but you gotta place the majority of the blame squarely on the agent themselves. School was only there to teach us how to stay out of prison and how many square feet are in an acre, you learn your sales from your brokerage. We're in a day and age where people like yourself, Ricky Carruth, Tom and Mike Ferry, even Grant Cardone himself gives away scripts, posts roleplay, offer 30 days free coaching, but some won't take what they can get and hone their craft. Hell, you got some that you can't even get to come into the brokerage and participate in training events that they technically already pay for, they just have to show up to. Do some fail due to no fault of their own? Sure. Things happen, life changes, and they get out or divert to another avenue of real estate. Does the licensing system need an overhaul? Sure, yes, there's quite a few gaping holes in the system that can be filled.
Also, there are 43,560 square feet in an acre...

I didn’t last as well. Dues were too much, I went with Exp , which was a mistake. My day job got in the way. You definitely have to be able to handle clients on call. I wish I went with a brick and mortar business. Where, I would had people to lean on to help my career. The exp world is cool to walk around in, but I didn’t find it helpful when it came to finding out what I had to do. I somehow found an investor, but had no idea how to work with him, or find the things he was after. Anyway, it’s not for everyone.

@@TakeScareMediaidk your situation, but sounds like you could have benefited from starting out part time and there's nothing wrong with that despite what some might say. If you still have your license, interview at some small brokerages, and be open to shadowing an agent on your days off, they'll work you to death sometimes but you'll gain the experience you need. I'll leave the eXp stuff alone as I was also with them and don't have anything to say about them.

It sounds like he wants the real estate schools to do the brokerage’s job. brokerages aren’t intentional on developing strong real estate businesses. They just want top producers. It is sink or swim for most agents.
