Hi Bert and Gaven. Pretty handy to have a chipper. Great that you guys can work together to get the job cleaned up. Very nice to help your sister out with a load of chips and you cleaned up a bunch of of brush. Win win. Help out.

She asked me about chips the day after I hauled the old pile to the back corner of the field to fill the low spot.

Yay!!! Chipping day 😊 I'm not sure why I find it so much fun even though it can smack you around at times even if you're careful

Always have to take extra caution when chipping. When we did branches from dead pine, my arm got scratched up a lot.

    Great job guys.
Years ago I had a rude introduction to cottonwood. I refinished my brothers bunk bed from when he was a child.
I just did my final wet sanding and I applied the last coat of oil based finish.
Went in the house to start dinner. Came back out to the garage, and the bed frame was covered in white fluffy puffs of what I thought was dandelion seeds, only it was not dandelion season.
    Cottonwood Seed.
I waited until the finish was dry and I started over.
Cottonwood is a banned species in our quaint little village.

I wonder if a sheet of plywood in the front of the trailer could be used to keep the chips from hitting the tarp? Gotta love that chipper and the extra helper .👍

Just tilt the trailer up some and it'll be fine

Chippers are nice for cleaning up a mess of brush and tree tops.

I have a feeling it's gonna get used more this summer with tree jobs

Nice work guys. Chipping can be tedious for teenagers but there are worse chores on a farm (cleaning out the hog barn for example). If it wasn’t for your sister, I’m guessing there would have just been a nice cleanup fire.

It would have been chipped and pushed on a pile until fall when we can haul to low spot down back.

Sawdust works better and is more absorbent.

    If money wasn't an issue...
What brand and model chipper would you like to have and why??
Your ole faithful chipper seems to work really good. I have seen really expensive machines that constantly plug and dont feed well. My brother works for our county highway dept and they have alot of issues with their new chippers over the years.

Probley go with vermeer due to local dealer. There are a few others that are close options as well.

@@BertsCustomCuts They make some nice ones and have been in business a long time!👍
I would like to see the new Dyna made Vortex in person. They claim it can't be plugged! Pretty bold statement!

@waynetharp Videos of them that I have seen they seem to be underpowered or auto feed doesn't kick out as fast as it should.

@@BertsCustomCutsCool I can follow progress on your channel. Not much corn here, we can grow wheat much better than corn but there is some and harvest is due to start any day.
