    I was surprised when Al Pacino said, "I command this family, right or wrong. It was not what I (screams with his anger) wanted." at the 2:54 minute mark. As for the movie of "Kindergarten Cop", I have to agree with Gene Siskel on this one because I wasn't pleased is when John Kimble (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) had to cancel the bathroom stuff away from the children. One of the kids named Lowell (played by Ben McCreary) had to ask him why. John Kimble shouted into his face by saying, "There is no bathroom. So you are not going to ask me that you need to go. So I had to lock them up." Then he yells at Emma in that same scene.

    Al Pacino is basically a caricature of himself in Godfather III and the lack of Robert Duvall hurt the story considerably.

      yet noone says the absence of Marlon Brando hurt part 2, which it did

    • @matthewwade920
      @matthewwade920 11 місяців тому

      Somehow Brando's absence in Part II does not hurt that film - for one thing, De Niro in the flashback version of the role offset Brando not being there - although I do wonder if there would have been a way for Brando to pull off the young Vito instead. I love De Niro, but the mind reels at the thought of Brando slimming down and playing a younger version.
      That said, Duvall is a serious absence - a great plotline might have been Tom Hagen trying to distance himself from the Corleone Family and running for Senator, leading to a conflict between Hagen and Michael. Imagine the implications of Hagen ordering a hit on Michael, fulfilling the prophecy of Michael in Part I when he scoffs at the naive suggestion by Kay that Senators don't have men killed.

    It's unfair that people to this day trash Sofia Coppola's performance in The Godfather 3. She was a last minute replacement for 2 other actress' who couldn't do the film. 1. Rebecca Schaffer, because she was murdered by an obsessed fan. 2. Winona Ryder who was busy working on too many films with overlapping schedules "Mermaids", "Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael" & "Edward Scissorhands". She was to exhausted.

    • @ricardocantoral7672
      @ricardocantoral7672 11 місяців тому +2

      Sofia's casting is a clear case of nepotism because she wasn't much of an actress.

      @toptenguy1 4 місяці тому

      I will be honest, as a casual movie fan, I really didn't see anything wrong with her performance. If anything, her role was somewhat a shy, naive young woman, so I think it worked just fine.

      The only stuff I found compelling is Michael clearly living in torment. I thought Joey Zasa was a good antagonist. Andy Garcia was good too. Unfortunately, the stuff I mentioned is so little of the film. The movie is generally yawn fest sans some key moments.

    I am one of the few people who actually really likes The Bonfire of the Vanities - parts of it are fantastic and parts of it aren't all that good, very much like the more recent Babylon.
    I also really like The Godfather Part III! It's much better than it has been given credit and Talia Shire is particularly good in it.

    Casting his daughter doesn't sink the movie all by itself. The film has many problems and that's why Godfather 3 has a bad rep.

    Siskel had a habit of giving negative reviews for Schwarzenegger films just for the sake of it I guess. It's pretty obvious the he wasn't really found of the guy and I have a feeling he would've praised these films more if Arnie wasn't in them
