Anything that he did as child soldier does not reflect the Sudanese people as a whole, but the SPLA. He's not a journalist he's an artist. The point is he's music and gestures of peace and reconcilation have inspired thousands in Sudan both north and south to put aside their resentment, hate and arms and reconcile with the Sudanese brothers. He is social activist, an ambassador of peace, a gift, an inspiration to us all.
mad respect for this dude, he just came to my highschool and performed war child and another poem for us, and told us his story before he came to be what he is now. This guy is awsome, God bless u
you are such an inspiration. I saw you at the vancouver folk fest and since then have listened to all your music and read your book. You inspire miracles
I read all kinds of war books and stuff. There are some great ones I have read and some boring ones but this one is a great book to read!! I wanna watch the documentary now!
i know this guy..im sudanes =D amazing song. Hope you still remember me emmanuel, from london. let me expand on the lyrics. There sung in dinka( tribal language in sudan) The bascily mean; what has happend at our home.
Just wondering, anybody know the name of the guy in the band that plays the guitar( and dances with it)? Does he always play with Emmanuel or other bands as well?
if you people bought a cd ev`ry now and then, you could read all the lyrics(translated)...and yeah I kinda stepped off the american, since these guys still got something to say ...Good luck and keep up the good intentions
Can someone translate the lyrics, please? I'd love to know what they're singing. For some reason I like better african artists than african american artists. There's a certain quality to their voices that one doesn't find anywhere else.
Iam very sorry for my ignorant and unthoughtful reply, here in the Netherlands we download more and more, out of lazyness more than because of financial malaise. I`m sorry I simply don't have the time to type down the lyrics..I looked for them on the net but with no succes.Goodbye, and all the very best to you
