Thanks for the video! mine is a little different, it doesnt use that second cone, and the drive socket that runs the cable is a long metal collar with a hex built into it.(no clutch where yours is) I thought I would drop this here in case anyone else sees this...mine is model HL2500 and it uses an MTD starter assembly, which when you buy it, is the whole red half of the case. The part number for my HL2500 is: MTD 753-08705 Starter Assembly..again this is for my version which is different than the one in the video
My HT h2500 is different where the clutch is i removed the pole and instead of the "cone and clutch" its just a shaft with a hex at the bottom, but turning it just spins the moter over.
Good video jr. The yardman weed eater is just exactly like that your kind of junk I wouldn't waste my money on them, but anyhow I've repaired a lot of when I used to work on them
indiana kid Yeah I wouldn’t waste my money on fixing it unless it was just replacing the spark plug, fuel line and at the most maybe a carburetor. I have a scrap yardman here that is junk also. Same junk different name on them
EXACTLY what I needed to know. Well done. Excellent.
Excellent 👍
Thanks for the visit
wish i could see the same thing on the newer model. this should work though

How do you remove the hex head bolt piece to remove the red housing? Does it spin of or pull off? Cannot get it off for the life of me.
Thanks for this video, can you please tell me what spark plug works for this weed eater? I can’t seem to find the info online.

Do you know what to do it the head won't spin
Does it try to move any at all?
What's the link or part number to the spring?
I'm not sure but maybe this will help you www.partstree.com/models/h-2500-41bdz01c735-hyper-tough-string-trimmer/engine-assembly-0/
I was looking for just the spring not the whole assembly.
@@nanmer7135 I'm not sure on that number for the spring sorry
Mine just won’t turn over. Total loss you think? I got it for super cheap I just hate creating unnecessary waste
It won't start or is it the rope won't pull out?
The wrenches are call thorx
Torx and also Star
How do you remove the head I need put attachment
I would do a video but I don't have it anymore

Or the love of God I can't figure out how to get this shaft off to be able to remove the housing to fix the recoil string
Once you make a video about my hyper tough weed eater won't start so I can watch it and listen to it thanks
If I had one that was fixable I would but the only one I have has a bad engine.
Thank you for this video sir because my hyper tough string pull rope broke please text me back place place place please please please
You're welcome
What a bunch of BS for recoil rope.. Not impressed and haven't Even used pos yet! Pulled 3 times on one at work brand new, and rope will not retract!
