Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

I had to reach a record high of watching what seems to be millions of videos searching for answers for weeks now and I just want to say you're a Godsend! I've went thru so many springs I've bought a long with the other parts needed and was about to throw in the towel and just buy a whole lawn mower and set this one on fire. I pray that your daughter has since parted ways with that gentleman, and that he was unable to father any offspring that share your genes.
May your family tree and his never connect, and may none of your descendants ever be mutual.
I ask that this blessing remains true, for as long as you both shall live, and for all the rest of your days, in this life, as well as in the next, until the end of time, and for all of eternity, forever and ever.

@@ripniklol7563 this works no update needed. However the easiest way to do it can't remember if it's this video or not. Put gloves on so you sweaty hands don't lose grip of the coil. The out the inside end inside the chamber make sure the string is pulled to its tightness because when it recoils it will be loose if not. Once the coil is in the chamber use your gloves to spin it tight and into place. Hours of fucking with this made me learn the smart way not the easy way

Thank you for your excellent help. I took my Tecumseh recoil starter 20 miles to the local lawn mower shop and he said he could not get parts to repair it. I came home and ordered a spring but thought I would sit down and watch the video. My wife and I had it fixed and running in less than an hour. Changed the oil and mowed the lawn. I was just cutting my yard which was completely overgrown, and to be fair, I have not cleaned my mower deck very well over time so starting my Honda mower has become difficult. I was almost finished when the mower stalled again. This time when I went to pull the cord, it didn't start and the cord didn't recoil. This video makes the repair look fairly straightforward, like maybe even I could do it. So once it cools down (the mower and the 96 degree temperature outside) I will remove the pull cord assembly and will re-tension it as you showed. I was already frustrated with the heat, the mower breaking and the possible expense and time to have it repaired. Thank you so much for posting this!

The direction of “the V” you made with pliers is facing the incorrect direction. It still works temporarily I’m sure. But I purchased several new springs and the “V’s” face opposite directions.
Try what I’m saying and you’ll see it fits more flush and recoils smoothest.
Great, helpful video man! I’m sure your way works fine! Just informing you that part is backwards👍🏼thanks

So I've only used this pressure washer one time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP The one time I used it, it worked great. I recently had new siding installed but kept the old gutters and small areas surrounding my house that weren't replaced so they looked horrible and dirty because of the new siding. I needed to get it cleaned asap. When I used the pressure washer, man it just melted all the dirt and grime that was on those areas of my house. I used that krud kutter soap and it was over after that. Easy to assemble, feels durable, very simple to use. Also, I purchased a used one to save money and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I want to get more use out of it so I think I'll be washing the cars and update this comment as time goes on.

Watched lots of videos which showed awkward methods of winding and clamping the spring. I tried and gave up on them on the Hayter lawnmower application.
The method in this video just works and in ten minutes the recoil starter was working just as it should.

Excellent video sir. Was about to buy a new starter assembly at a cost of $100.00 in Canada. Your video showed that when my spring unwound itself, the hook at the centre had bent out of shape, and I couldn't figure out how it catches. Rebent it the way you showed, and good to go. Thank you for sharing. By the way, if I may add to your video, the extra rope in the centre that was left over will go away when you pull the starter cord all the way out. No need to reknot the loose end

Cheers mate! The tip of checking the "V's" on the recoil spring was just what I needed - couldn't get it to locate and wind up properly, the inner one was bent completely the wrong way. Sorted in 5 mins after watching this. Downside is now I don't have an excuse not to cut the grass!

Thank you. This was as easy as you said it would be. In fact it was easier because the spring wasn’t damaged. When I released the spring and the cord zip in I thought wow. It took longer to reassemble the cover etc... than preform the fix. Thanks again.
