That's not a hack...that's a known feature.
That's not a hack. It's a setting.
Also, a regular 15 A line can handle 12 A if there's nothing else on it. Just make sure there's nothing else on it.
I have a lighting hack for your home. If you want to have the light on, go to the wall where there is a switch. Push up on the switch. You are now a hacker.

That's not a hack, it's a known built in feature. 🤦♂️
To go back you press the left arrow key shown on your charging screen in the top left section of your touchscreen.

@@TTorres1183 I didn’t get a credit. I did fill out there online application. No calls or emails from them.
My breaker won’t handle it for my one plug that’s in my garage! It’s a 10amp breaker and it said not to up it to the higher charge rate because my breaker isn’t big enough

How do you keep it 12 amp, mine keeps defaulting to 8 amps? I know my breaker can handle it?
Each time I plug it in a choose 12amp
It's in the place you go to set charging times for specific locations. You can set a specific location as allowing 12-amp charging. It's detailed in the owner's manual

80% for better battery life plus above 90% increases the risk of catching on fire.

Yes
Just to be clear, a 15 amp breaker should be able to handle this IF THERE'S NOTHING ELSE DRAWING POWER ON THE SAME CIRCUIT. Breakers and receptacles are designed to provide continuous power at 80% of rated amperage. 12 amps is 80% of 15 amps, that's why GM created this setting. You need to know your circuit though and make sure nothing else is drawing power.

Too bad they don’t have the option to go higher for a 20 amp circuit but I suppose they don’t because some would set it to say, 18 amps when they only have a 15 amp circuit.
Almost burned my house down doing this with my 2012 Volt. 😬

Breaker size does not dictate how many amps you can draw my friend.
Conductor size does.
Breaker size. If you have a 15 amp breaker and are using 5 amps on something else you can't add 12 more amps. It will trip the breaker

@@jaredtarabocchia6331 The people who would buy this car are people cant buy a tesla. Tesla is far more expensive. Auto pilot is $20,000. It is a good car for the price. 10-80% at 55kwh is only a bathroom break in time. Completely reasonable and works great
@@UnholyNomadwe just got our EUV for $23k after incentives and the main selling point was the ventilated seats. Amazing to have here in Florida.
The cheapest Tesla model 3 was going to be $9k more including having to buy my own level 2 charger. Chevy installing free with car purchase!
@@mightymouse9001 The ventilated seats are amazing. I couldn't have a car without them after this one. The bolt is an amazing piece of engineering slapped onto an economy car. It's honestly the best value comfort vehicle there is at the moment.
