- American automotive designer Carroll Shelby and fearless British race car driver Ken Miles battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary vehicle for the Ford Motor Co. Together, they plan to compete against the race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.
Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as Ken Miles

I think a lot of people miss the point of what he's actually saying here because it is a movie about cars. You know, you as a person are like a car. We all have our rev limits just like a car where we push so hard and we can't push ourselves anymore. Just like those race cars we aren't governed. We can push ourselves to snap and to break down and fail. When you're going through life you have to constantly work and constantly push to find that limit, that 7000RPM where you're pushing right on the edge and balancing the line between glory and madness. When you get there, and boy when you get there and you found that spot, that niche, that groove for yourself where you are working and living and doing all you can, everything else in life seems to disappear. The problems, the worry, the pain, the past, just nothing else that matters. 'The machine becomes weightless, just disappears'. This line is so powerful. When you're out there doing it, actually doing it this life thing running yourself at 7000RPM and then leaning into it harder nothing else in life matters. What he's saying here is when you get to that point where it's push harder or let off in your life, that's where you make the choice. Right there at 7000. Who are you? The one who will let off the gas? The one who is scared to get hurt? Or the one who is willing to go for the glory and lean into that bad boy to find out just what exactly you're capable of accomplishing? Who are you?
Holy shit man
this is the clearest explanation of the quote ever, thanks a lot man.
When I saw it , I felt in the biggest problem and worst situation in my life, that still I am in.
I have saved it in my phone.
By the way , every times I look at it , all of your comment will come in my mind.

You just made me tear up.
Amazing, just inspiring words
The story of Ken Miles was such an inspiring story and from now on I will never forgot the best race car driver known to man. R.I.P. Ken Miles, 1918 - 1966
Ayrton Senna
Ken Miles and Ayrton Senna are the Goats. May both fly high🕊️
He is a Legend but remember Schumacher accelerated everytime he tapped a wall.
Yeah that’s true, but it’s just my opinion that Ayrton Senna is the goat of F1. But still Schumacher was and is also one of the beste
There's a point, 5500 rpm, where everything disassembles into pieces at your todays Ford. Pistons fly by and your turbochargers impellers drill themselves through their housings and creep up into direction of the drivers head. And you ask yourself a question: Why are such great cars as the GT40 no longer built today?
Because manufacturers no longer care about the enthusiasts as there plan is to make cars and sell them for more moneys.newer cars arnt meant to last that long however older cars are just built different.quite sad really almost trying to kill off the car enthusiasts
When A Ford is running , you feel her , the bumps in the roads , Pure freedom , However short it is , it defines you !!

Any V8 at 7000rpm is gods music
Bounce off rev limiters in my RC-F at 7300 rpm is such a unique feeling 🥺

i’ve only been able to push mine to 5000rpm. i don’t think it’ll ever get there but i’m tryin.
Try revving a R1 to 12k
But.......it has to be the RIGHT V8.....no twin turbos, no supercharging, just pure normal aspiration.
This is the only way I've ever heard someone put the feeling of speed into words so perfectly, for those who don't understand us, this is why we do what we do
This calms me so much. Go to hell with your electric vehicles. This feeling is only possible with piston driven petrol engines.

@@EzraEpic they are a step to lowering pollution, but at the end of the day, cars are the way they are because of engines. Doesn’t matter if we use anything but oil at some point as we must, but engines will always exist.
My 924 really comes alive at 4000 RPM but at 5800 RPM it got it's full potential. It ain't fast, but the feeling of the steering becoming easier at higher speeds, the throttle response, the shifts... You just lose touch with any of your problems. That's your moment with that machine right there and no one can take it from you. Drive safe folks
LOL I know you won't; mainly cuz it's a Porsche where the engine is in the wrong place, so you'll just spin helplessly at every corner.
@@michaelmeliambro5117 The weight distribution is literally 50:50, plus it's underpowered. I can drift it sort of, but overspin is simply not possible. I know you are one of those cringy gate-keepers that only accepts the 911 g-model. It has 58% of it's weight on the rear axle, increasing it's chances of spinning. Maybe if you ever actually drove any Porsche, you might have known.

For Acura drivers that point is 5000 rpm. VTEC yo...
Just remember that 7000 is faster than 5000 if you have the right gear ratio so it doesn't matter
But ur car can't do that unless it has the right gear ratio????
I was clocked by police going 137 down m52 in a front wheel drive 1992 bonnie v6 supercharged in a half mile

Putting this over my GoPro POV footage of me going 188mph on my gsxr1000 down a long stretch of empty highway at night
You can feel what Shelby is saying for some reason, or is it just me
First time I heard this quote in the movie I balled. I never cry for movies. But I just feel this quote. I’ve been wanting to race cars since I could remember. The times where I’ve felt the most alive is when im the closest to death. Where one mistake means your life. Nothing beats it. Nothing ever will
How is it that you can ONLY feel alive when you're on the verge of killing urself????? I'll bet if you tried jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge, that'd be NIRVANA, for you.
Proud to have a Shelby GT500
Is it a newer one? Or are we talking about a true American classic when cars were automotive art?
this makes you cry i feel this and i relate

GOD HELP YOU if you ever reach that point!!!!
This is heartbreaking when he passes :( R.I.P
Just finished watching this movie, 10/10. When I heard this at the beginning it gave me goosebumps, cause although this is a story about cars, I ride a sports motorcycle and it just hits different.
Reminds me of something Col Robin Olds said about flying, once you get to a certain height and speed you and the plane become one, gliding through the air. Free and limitless.
My dream car would be a GT40, but nowadays, a GT40 is worth millions, so I realize I probably won't ever own one, but the closest I can get is probably my 2nd dream car. A Ford Mustang GT, that is a dream that I know I can accomplish, and when I do, im gonna take her out into the country, let loose and get her up above 7000rpm while listening to this.
Wanna bet on that you'll never own a Gt40
Beautiful film. Just amazing, that such a masculine movie could be made in recent years.
Back when racing was making a somewhat aerodynamic vehicle with a big engine and hoping it wins. Good times. Now it's just. Cram as much technology in a vehicle, and if you have a good engine your not allowed to use all its horses.
Are you referring to American car racing? Meaning racing in the US. This isn’t true for Formula Drift (yes, an official racing sport for 18 yrs) and it’s also not true for F2 or F1, which do have circuits in the US. Watch the dash cams, it’s fascinating the way the drivers manipulate and master their revolutions. You cannot corner without it. Now, if you’re just going in an oval for hours on end .. yea, I get your point ;)
I’ve tried to come up with words to describe it but this nails it
i always try and explain this feeling to people. this works so much better. thank you for posting!
Superb !!! Beautiful!!!
Respect Virtualboy_414 !

@@jogabonito8989 I didn't ask you, smarta**.
The movie is from 2019, that means it will be 4 years old in two months......and I can still cry at the last scene when Ken crashes fatally.....according to the original file, Ken's body was found 10 meters from the car... the impact was so strong that it tore him out of the seat and out of his belts.............In the movie, it is shown as a brake fault according to the actual driving fault... but even if it was his own fault, he does not deserve such a fate.

@@michaelmeliambro5117 you really typed this out thinking it would do something. Sent it out. Then edited it again. Just to be negative. Idk about you but I have dreams and plans for my life weather that’s getting a raise or starting a family I know I’m going to push myself to the limit in anything I do in life. I’m going to meet my version of 7000 RPM. I’m going to be the greatest version of myself. I’m going to meet it. It’s people like you Michael that bring other people down.
@@lukedrake8514 And what makes you certain you WILL get that raise or have such a family??? A person can only push themselves so much, and no more.
@@michaelmeliambro5117 No ones certain about anything in life. I can drop dead right after sending this comment. Life is to short to be so negative. I try to have a mindset to where im going to succeed and be the best I can at anything I do like my job or my relationship with people. If you go into something and your telling yourself your not going to be able to do it then you most likely won’t. I’m not saying I’m trying to be perfect I just want to alway improve on myself. I lot of things will change and start to go your way if you work hard at it and put in the effort. I’ve actually been noticed as the employee of the week just today. So a raise is very possible. You just have to believe in yourself and work hard to accomplish what you want and it will come to you.

My car won't make 7000, for mine it's more like 5000. But you truly do separate from everything to where it's you, the car, and the road with nothing else to think about but how fast and what angle you're gonna take the next turn at. I try to limit it to once every so often but it's such an intoxicating feeling to avoid.
i hit 5000 in mine all the time. I usually get off work at like 11:30 pm, so no one’s on the road. it has 97032 miles on it, so I gotta get it to 7000rpm before it dies
Sucks to be you, then, cuz mine goes to over 9,000!!!!!!
My bucket list is hitting 200 mph on my bike. This is the audio I want for the reel.
Make this have no dislikes
Amazing!!
7000 is when the bike *really* comes on the cam. You start letting out the clutch then, lean forward onto the tank as you open the throttle all the way. The revs climb toward ten and you control the engine speed with the clutch. As soon as the clutch is all in, you chop the throttle for an instant as your left foot jerks the transmission up into second, then full open again. The engine howls like a mad dog, even firing twin as the revs climb fast, a twitch of the left foot when you chop the throttle as the red tach needle sweeps past ten…
