Richard here. Holy smokes, Brandon this is how every tech tutorial should be ... 'How I use (the tool)'. Absolutely brilliant. I've been using Arc for 6+ months, and I absolutely love it, but I suspected I was only using it to 60% capacity. You have filled in so many gaps. Highlights: Copy URL: Cmnd-Shift-C (NO WAY!!) ... Save Tab: Cmnd D ... Split Screen: Opt-click ... Filing split screens WHAT!! ... Open blank page in split screen: Cntrl+Shft+= (3-4 side by side) ... and Notes. I didn't know there were notes ... that can be used in a split screen ... and filed together!!! Mind blown! Thank you so much.
I’ve only been using PARA for 6 months and I keep forgetting I can use it everywhere. Thanks for the reminder and great video. One thing I can’t do is pull up Arc using Alfred? Haven’t tried the browser company yet.
Thanks for this video. I still feel I'm learning and getting comfortable with it and some of the shortcuts you gave (like command S) will be put to use immediately. I'll be using a web app like Gmail in Arc and suddenly need to go to a new tab and I get a bit of anxiety until I remember to show it again. Not needing to use the mouse to do that will really help with that feeling of being trapped in the window I'm in. (It's hard to explain but I'm sure I'm not alone in sometimes needing that sidebar to appear!)
Okay, I'm literally an Arc power user, but didn't even realize some of the things you mentioned here, well done on the presentation! LOVE the "hold down option + click" to get more use out of the split view. Also TOTALLY didn't realize you could rename a group of tabs, I was trying to rename them and then pin them, but renaming the group is a WAY better experience. Super nice job, great video my friend!
Really enjoyed this, Brandon, thank you. Tying the Arc approach with PARA felt really natural, great integration and explanation. (One small detail: the fairly short looping theme playing in the background became a distraction pretty quickly…maybe a music bed without prominent melodies? Or my fave: no music at all. That's the musician in me getting drawn away from your voice and Arc tutorial. :-) )
Thank you so much for the feedback. I recently switched to a better microphone setup which should relieve the feeling the mask the room tone. I will give no music a try and see what people think.
That’s a great idea Chloe. In my scenario I was using spaces for contexts (work / home), but if I wasn’t then I would totally recommend this. Super clean!
Really helpful tips! For some reason, I don't see the "Blank Window" shortcut listed on the current version of Arc. Anyone else able to see "Blank Window" shortcut?
how do you use mail app inside ARC? why is it better to open the mail inbox through ARC? doesn’t get lost between tabs? I feel it's not easily accessiable and perhaps it would be lost between so many things in ARC.
on the PARA method, you said that Areas and Resources get a little blurry. But didn't you mean Project and Areas? Since both are meant for actionable things
Projects and Areas are pretty clear for me. In my opinion Areas need a bit more structure than how Tiago defines them. Without more structure the line between areas and resources begins to blur.
@@BrandonKBoswell I understand what you mean... Are you still using Arc and using this approach? Would be nice to watch a follow up video of how you use it one year later
Two questions. 1. I am involved in a few startups to varying degrees. For each one I can wear one to six full time role equivalent hats. So spaces seem like a better fit for “finance” for example where I could have 6 tabs that I want to focus on. So let’s say 36 tabs for one startup. 20 for another and 5 for another. Spaces feel like a better fit for me instead of folders? Am I mental? 2. I would love if I could just hide a profile and its spaces based on what I’m doing. Right now my spaces are too hard to distinguish between quickly at the bottom menu as I have like 15 of them. Any ideas?
suggest posting more videos related to Arc - you're the first channel that pops up when searching tips Arc browser and their user adoption is skyrocketing. - tips, tricks, cover new updates etc. thanks!
It has some potential, but requires more gestures implementation, kind of like the new Safari gestures. Considering the development pace, I think it will get there very quickly
@@lorenzorubino2195The new safari gestures make every other mobile browser truly gruelling by comparison. Without fail everything else sucks without them.
Thanks for your video. Have you ever had authentication problems with google applications when you use different spaces? I have a pro space and a personal space. My gmail / google calendar or Drive are always reversed (pro/perso) when I start a new day.
Is there a way of opening just an empty tab? I want a new tab but I don't want to type any URL I just one to go to my book mark and open the page I want
I am now on the waiting list for the browser, but I was curious to see the list of universities available for immediate access and wow, the universities with that agreement are the most prestigious ones. I can assure that the universities in South America are the best (I know them because I'm from there). The rest, I really like this video, this kind of video with this quality must to be more watched on UA-cam ❤
Arc is best for people who don't do a lot of multitasking with their browsers and who only use one main screen. If you use multiple screens and need multiple browser window open and most importantly want them to behave as though they were independent of the other windows, then Arc is probably not for you.
I hear what you're saying and I mostly agree, but do note that you can have multiple browser windows of Arc open on multiple screens. Also, their split screen support is really, really good.
@@Glotaku Thats a horrible solution, you are saying I should create 4 individul profiles just to use this browser like eveery single other browser? Thats really unresonable.
The fact that a browser requires a 20 minute tutorial to teach you how to organize your online life tells me it is creating more problems than it is solving.
If you're watching this in late 2024, feel free to skip from 8:30 to 10:40 (Notes section). They got rid of it. Spent some time figuring that out 😅

Watching every Arc-related video while I'm still not able to use it on Windows. Your videos are my favorite!

By far this is the best tutorial about Arc, thanks for those shortcuts. Cheers

Have you thought of instead sorting PARA into spaces instead? It is a lot cleaner and reduces a layer of folders.

How to make a new not in Arc with Windows??
You can close peek windows with two-finger swipe right, its convenient

how did you get different favourite tabs for different spaces?
You need to have a different profile assigned to each space

why im getting the favorites the same in all spaces?
Favorites are Profile driven, so if you would like different favorites in each space then give them their own profiles.
