Back in the day before my knees gave out I used to umpire both baseball and softball. Truth be told, I always enjoyed the softball more. The ladies were always more fun to watch. Their enthusiasm was unmatched and they were just so much nicer. And GOD, could they play.

I've said this since I've seen her pitch. Peyton Melllicini and Deihl are the best pitchers. Peyton just has the best movement on her pitches. Mark my words. Peyton is a stud. You're going to see her rise up in the rotation

Even though we did have walks and some bad pitching, Miami (OH) can score runs. They put up 12, 15, 5, 12, 14, 11, 13, 6 (Conn), 8 (Miss), 1 (Clem), 7 (Conn), 7 (OU) this year so far and I believe they lead the nation in total team HRs? They aren't a bad offensive team at all.
For some reason this field looks a lot smaller than the old one. That was one heck of a game. The energy there was palpable thru the screen. Great job on the video and great game by both teams.
The field is smaller in the way of the seating taking away some of the outfield. Go to 1:17 and look at how it angles in. The old field had a lot of room all the way back to the wall. Definitely a big change on running down foul balls that everyone will have to get used to.
Miami also is one of the best hitting teams in the country. They have like 50 HR already. First in slugging in the nation and 2nd in runs/g at over 9. They beat Louisiana 12-10 tonight in the evening game at Marita Hynes. Won't be surprised to see Miami in regionals this year
Always good (and rare) to see the Sooners at least get challenged. When Jordy Bahl left, you had to wonder that all was not right in paradise. Oh well, Patti Gasso can just go back to California and Arizona and re-load. Gasso needs to teach her team some lessons in humility and class, but I won't hold my breath.
I'm worried that our pitching will cost us in June, may hold us back from a natty, the loss of Jordy Bahl really hurt us but at least we still have the best hitters in the game

College softball may be the best sport after football in the NCAA now. Seems like there is drama and athleticism and determination in every game.
