A couple weeks ago we sprayed a car in Musou Black, the self proclaimed World's Blackest Paint. You guys hit us super hard with requests to try to spray a HyperShift over it. It was not easy, but we found a way, and the result is completely insane! This paint was not designed to be used on cars and this project should not be replicated. We simply did it for fun and for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

I was not ready for just how gorgeous this turned out. This was so beautiful , I seriously almost got a little choked up. It's like looking up at the stars out in the country where you can see ALL of the stars. I'd love to paint the ceiling in my house like this.
Thats a great idea. Imagine that paintjob on the ceiling, then some cotton as clouds with LED's around them to make the stars twinkle

It's like a portal in the shape of car that opens to the cosmos and nebulas. Imagine making this exact thing but in the form of a huge painting with a few tweaks to add clear nebulas and galaxies, it would be fantastic.
Absolutely off-the-chart incredible. What a shame it's not durable enough for actual use. Looks like a galaxy exploded onto the cars surface. Incredible!

This does it. This is officially the coolest thing i've ever seen. I can totally see BMW or rolls royce buying this paint and using it for ultra-high end concept / limited production cars like how BMW did with the X6 Vantablack
This is the most astonishingly beautiful paint job ever, it's like staring straight into deep space. Maybe expensive, but worth it if you have the money to get it redone frequently enough!
I could see someone doing like a Lamborghini in this finish and just leaving it a show car.
Sad thing is those blacks are very very very fragile. In fact the fist wash of the car will kill part of the texture (that creates the blackness effect), it is not very water resistant.

@@clarkesyt clear coat does work to protect it, but it ruins the black effect of the musou black and makes it look like a normal black.
That looks so much like a hubble deep field image. Looks like stars and galaxies, suspended in space. The black base coat really helps the 3D just jump out more than is actually there. What an amazing technique.
I’m a little late to this video but man that looks cool. It looks like someone completely green screened the entire body of the car and put in a star field. Even with all the refraction from the shift particles, the underlying black still shows very little if any body detail so you still can’t see the body lines, great job!
Literally got goosebumps when he showed the end product. This has ruined looking at normal things for me

@@doronyaniv9205 You can't put anything shiny on top or you destroy the effect even matt finishes are very shiny compared to this paint, just look at how bright the black plastics on the car look.

I was surprised at myself too when audibly said whoa while watching a youtube video
no dip involved (sort of). The car was dip coated, then the black was painted over the top. This should still be peelable.

@sbcontt YT well the pearls would get coated in the mouso black ruining the effect. I would have to be a top coat over the mouso, like he did here.

To figure out how to make that last in a cost effective way would be amazing probably the most amazing effect I've ever seen
I don't know yet if Hypershifts are allowed in the Netherlands, but even if it's not, this would definitely be worth getting pulled over. I was completely blown away with that insane end result. Too bad it wasn't durable. But it's been 2 years ago. I still have hopes for a paint with Musou Black qualities that would be durable. Thank you for taking on this project!! 😲🙏

Clear vinyl wrap it afterwards
or clear coat over the top, then buff the clear coat down a bit.
Clear coats and other ways to make it durable will ruin the effect, unfortunately.

Too bad that paint isn't durable enough for car painting, that was gorgeous. Although, I would like to see what it would look like with about half as much of the hypershift pearls used. It really gave me the sense of deep space covered in stars because of the absolute blackness of the Musou paint, and I wondered what it would look like with fewer "stars".
This looks amazing! Like looking at the universe wrapped around the car. At 9 minutes 35 seconds into the video, the camera caught the shine on the hood and front panel which made it look like a shooting star. So unreal

Now car paint industry needs to get "clearest lacquer" to successfully coat this without loosing any visuals.
The problem still is that the paint does not stay on the car... it will take of with that shiny coat... in pieces

The reason that will never work is part of what makes Musou Black work is actually the surface finish, the second you cover it with anything it will ruin the effect, doesn't matter how clear it is, unless it has a refractive index identical to air it won't work.

Forget painting a car. Imagine this done on the ceiling or wall of a room in a science museum. With a little effort I think you could create a galaxy of stars! It really has some artistic potential and I hope you try it on a panel

Behind your Olive Gold over gun metal as a hypershift colour this is my favourite. That Musou Black makes all the difference. This is more like a Galaxy than the Galaxy you uploaded just recently hahaha. LOVE THIS.

this would be a cool effect for a painting or sculpture. something that isn't touched or moved that often, looks amazing but you are right that its not good for a car. this could go into a show room and look dope though.

I've noticed several video's which IMO do not fully demo results; 1) Up and down one side only - you should always do at least one slow 360 view. 2) Close up (1 or 2 feet away) - this one is an example. This doesn't show the result at all. While one closeup might be interesting, the most important image (video) is a 360 from 20+ feet to see what others will see (assuming you're going below Hyperspeed) as you pass them. With that said, this is a fantastic process and these demo projects are, in general, mind-blowing.

A year later and this dip is still the wildest thing I've ever laid my eyes upon, it is literally out of this world. It's a damn shame that it is not for practical use.
Not practical either. Can you imagine the insurance claim? Mr. Adjuster I didn't see him because his car is literally the same color as nighttime.
