The media reports don’t mention the driver’s condition; media reported that the cause was a hit and run driver piercing the fuel tank. Cargo was barrels filled with hazardous tungsten metal which spilled on the road and caused slick conditions around the accident site.
News media said it was caused by a hit and run and only vehicle that it could have been would be the white pick-up that came barreling down the onramp before the fire ball. If that's truly the case then they need to find footage of that pick-up truck.
