1. Gillette Wizamet (By many regarded the same blade as the PolSilver) 2. Personna Red (Blue pack with red writing) 3 Gillette Nacet. 4. Treet Platinum 5. Gillette 7 O'Clock Black 6. Feather (only in very mild razors)
I have only tried a Feather blade once and it no doubt was the sharpest blade I have ever used. It also gave me the closest shave ever. I used a lot of after-shave balm to calm my skin down on my neck afterward. I think for the best combination of sharpness and smoothness, I prefer the Gillette Platinum. I think a Feather blade is fantastic for mowing down multiple days of growth.
My top 6 blades are: 6. Personna Platinum 5. Voskhod 4. Bic Chrome Platinum 3. Permasharp 2. Gillette 7 O’Clock Sharp Edge 1. Gillette Platinum There are many blades out there that I haven’t tried out yet, and some could work and others might not. Overtime, this list can change as my wet shaving journey evolves with experience and technique. I gotta revisit some of the blades from this list at some point because it’s been a while since I used them. Other than that, I love those blades that made the cut on my list
Green Astra for most of my razors - cheap as chips and will never let You down. When I need a sharper blade for a mild razor, I would agree with You on the feathers. They’re the only blades I need/use. Simple as that. Keep up the good work Kevy. Good Health to You and Yours 👍

Cracking update video on blades - thanks Kevy, very informative. I have all those you have selected and agree with your views and assessments. I similarly like the Gillette 'Saloon Pack' and find they are great value. Please don't leave it so long next time - perhaps you would consider an annual update? Keep up the great videos!!
My experience with them was that they were really amazing but then I started getting some really bad duds in some packs. Dorco prime platinum & persona platinum chrome are good alternatives for me.
I received my Timeless Bronze Razor this week and decided to shave every day with it and I was struggling to find the right blade. Today that changed, I decided to try a Gillette 7'O Clock Super Platinum (Black) after your recommendation and the shave was fantastic. The blade was really smooth and felt sharp, just superb. Without hesitation I've ordered 50. This blade was never on my radar until your video, thank you 😊
Love you're list. DE shaving now for about as long as you, I've grown in my preferences too. Personna blue tops my list for reliable, comfortable smooth results without harshness or uncomfortable levels of sharpness. Nacets; pretty much exactly the same. Maybe a tie. Kai's when I'm up to a challenge. Astra platinum and Gillette 7 o'clock green also reliable choices i look forward to. That's where i stand today, now about through with the experimentation stage. Cheers, Kevy and community!
Important point made about the unique aspect of each individual’s face hence there is variability with experiences. My ‘go to’ are Muhle or Personna (Platinum). Great job as always Kevy! Notable mention to Merkur.
The only blades I've used are Astra SP/green, which I bought a 100-pack of when I first started wet shaving, and the sample blades that have come with Merkur and Rockwell safety razors. I need to get a bunch of small sample packs to try others.
Hi Kevy enjoyed seeing your pick of blades. I love Nacets the worst blade I’ve tried recently is Voskhod My opinion was they felt blunt as they pulled and tugged I have used two blades and not bothered since. Keep up the good work and keep well and keep safe.
I've really enjoyed Nacet, and the Wilkinson Saloon Pack Blades. Just got in some 7 O'clock Super Platinums . Wow! You're right. SO SMOOTH. Thanks for the video. Of late, I've found my Astra Blue's to be a bit smoother than the Greens. Wait a week, it could change. Haha! Thanks for the great video!
Great idea , this video Kevy.. My favourite blade is the SuperShaveX made by the Mers Razor works in the UK. I guess everybody has different skin characteristics which determine which blade suits, but this blade suits me. There is almost no sensation of blade on face, yet it does the job better than any other! All the best
Really good video and some great tips. My favourites are probably Wizamet, Nacet, Wilkinson sword saloon pack, and 7 o’clock yellow. I’ve just recently bought some Permasharp and 7oclock greens to try out too 👍
My current favorite blade manufacturer for both DE and SE is KAI. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. I get result as good as a Feather but without the blood.
Nice video! I happen to LOVE Feather’s. I don’t find them to be the nightmare that many people do. But, like you said, blades work differently for everyone. I also love the Gillette Silver Blue. I like them over the Nacet’s. Other blades I really like are Personna Red’s, Crystal, Dorco Prime, Lord Platinum, Gillette Winner, Wizamet.
I know what you mean about Feather blades. Many years ago, Douglas from PAA did a video where he showed how you can use your jeans/some denim to strop a Feather blade - and avoid that harshness in the first few shaves.
I have tried a few different blades and my favourite was the Astra platinum in the green pack. However, I recently bout a pack of Astra and found the blade wrappers were different, Astra written all over them and almost glued on. These new blades felt so different to my older ones, very scratch for me and they look stiffer than the old version, maybe it’s just me. I do like the Wilkinson Sword version in the black plastic box, they feel very smooth in my Edwin Jagger 3One6 and Merkur 34C, so will use these for now.
Nacets for me as well, for the same reason: they work in everything. Feather Hi-Stainless and the German Wilkinson Swords would be 2 and 3; they both work great in different razors and the latter are the only thing when I am having a *rough* skin day.
You might want to try Derby, best blades I've ever used except Feathers and Personna. Another great blades are Astra. In my book, next to those are Wilkinson and Voskhod.
Gillette 7 o'clock Yellow. Gillette 7 O'Clock Green. Gillette 7 O'Clock Black. Voskhod. Feather... but only in the Feather Gillette Nacet. Until I got my technique in order, I hadn't had the opportunity to realise how good the Yellow's are. In the Rockwell 6s, they are outstanding.
I used a 7 o clock green in my 6s recently with plate 6 in. A great smooth shave. Just shaved with the same green in my Outlaw razor. I have used a yellow once in my 3one6. I think all Gillette blades are pretty good. Stay safe, Dave.
Very cool. I would love to see the same video for brushes. Also try feather blades for a cold shave. It's not a guaranteed irration free shave. But from my experience, it definitely can help and improve the shave with feathers.
Hi Kevy- A very nice list of top blades! We share in common Gillette Wilkinson Sword (India), Feather Hi-Stainless, and the Gillette Nacet (No.1). I definitely use the Nacet for 90% of my shaves. I hope you have a great weekend ahead. Take good care and be safe and be well. Best regards, as always, Kevy!
You are so right, it's so objective. For me the Nacet gives me one decent shave and then it's done. Strange. My worst blade is another one everyone loves, the Voshkod, it's rough, tuggy and skips over my stubble. 1. Permasharp (second sharpest to Feather for me but so smooth) 2. Wizamet 3. Feather 4. Astra green
I totally agree about the Feather blades. Use them most in my AS-D2. Nacet is also my favourite blade. I like 7 o clock green and yellow (not tried the black). Supershave X, big ben and blue sword are ok too. If its a new razor and I'm not sure about it, I go with Nacet. Cheers and stay safe mate, Dave.......... I'm editing this as I have just shaved (Outlaw, 7 o clock green, cella & med Jock). Great shave! Before I shaved I went through my shaving log I keep so I can keep track of razor, soap and blades used and realised that I've never used a Nacet in my Outlaw! 😲😲. So next use of Outlaw will be with a Nacet. Dave.
Kevy, Great review. Would it be possible to have a video on your five favorite, stainless steel double edge safety razors, with five honorable mentions? The best to you, Mrs. Kevy and Riley.
Good list. Feathers are definitely the sharpest and I only use them with very mild razors like Henson, Feather AS-D2 or 34c or 45c. Biggest mistake I ever made was on my very first wet shave 2 years ago, I used Futur with Feather blade lol Let's just say it was a blood bath.
I agree the type of blade depends on the head (Razor) used by each individual, its performance will depend on it, on the other hand I consider that the best are undoubtedly the Gillette in its different variants.
Well done! I'm not surprised that the Nacet garnered top tier. I enjoy them as well. Erica Salmons turned me on to the Nacet. So far, they have worked in every razor. You asked for my top six. This is no easy task. But it is still a great idea to compare with all the other viewers here. 6. Blue Diamond 5. Perma-Sharp 4. Nacet 3. BIC Chrome-Platinum 2. Zorrik SP 1. Elios There it is. I do have an honorable mention of Treet Carbon. They are wonderful in every razor except the one I use most. Elios is unbeatable on long strokes; my neck hair grows left to right. That blade dispatches the stubble in one swift stroke.
Thanks for sharing your list Alex. I'm sure I have a tuck of Elios somewhere. I can't recall using them. I still have some Zorrik blades that you gifted to me. Those are a good blade too. Cheers. Kevy 😀
The Gillette 7 O'clock Black are my favorite blades as well. The Gillette 7 O'clock Black blades comes at INR 650/- ($ 8,80), now it's price is increasing to INR 1100/- ($ 14,90) for 100 blades.
-Polsilver Super Iridium (you can still buy them in Poland regularly, for some 10-12€/100 blades. They even ship internationally) -Gillette Super Silver -Wilkinson Sword (German made, they got really good in last few years) -Perma Sharp blades -Gillette Nacet But, to be honest, as time goes by I find that really "razor is a razor and a blade is a blade" (to quote Fuzzy). Any blade can give me a good shave in any razor. I just have to make adjustments to the technique. Some blades can give me more good shaves, and that's what separates higher quality ones from the lower quality ones.
Nice one! Is that the Polsilver blades in the brown wrapper that are available in Poland? I agree with what you say, technique does play a big part too. Cheers. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 No, no, it's the regular dark blue ones. Nothing vintage. They're made in Russia. I'll dig the link from the seller's store. It is from a Polish online store website, but Google did a good job translating it to me. I contacted the guy, and it was not a problem for him to mail the package to me. And all was happening in 2020., amidst the virus shitstorm.
Great selection Kevy. I have rough pimply skin with thick whiskers, and I must agree, the Gillette Nacet Stainless blades are amazing. They're the only blades that give me a smooth and dare I say bloodless shave. They just work. Second place for me is the Gillette Wilkinson Sword Saloon Pack followed by the Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless. Everything else I've tried is a hit and miss.
My top 3 are the Wilkinson Saloon Pack, Perma Sharp and Astra Green. A honour mention for the Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow. On th other hand, Feather and Gillette Nacet are not working well for me...
Hi Kevy, Thanks for keeping us entertained during another lockdown in Scotland.! Best 6 blades so far for me are. Voshkod, Rapira, Rubie, Polsilver, Astra Green, 7 O'clock yellow.
Great video Kevy. The writing on the Perma Sharp is Turkish. I have to agree with your number one choice. Nacets are my number one blade too. They work great in my Game Changer .84 and the Astra SP is my second choice with the Parma Sharp third Derby Usta fourth and Derby Premium fifth. Take care from Antalya.
My favourites: Sputnik, Perma Sharp, BIC, Astra, Shark, 7o' clock black. Haven't tried the feather yet. Voskhod was really disapointing, gave me a very rough shave.
Thanks Levy. It is true that blades are very subjective due the razor and other factors. Right now Voshkhod, Wilkinson, Bic, Permasharp, and Shark. Next up your favorite razors perhaps ? Hope you and yours stay healthy.
I don't have a "Top 5 DE Blades" list. Oddly, relative to the numerous soaps, after shave lotions and even razors; I don't have a wide variety of blades. I think I might have 12 to 15 brands represented but I really don't rotate through them the way I do the razors or soaps. Plus, I regularly use SE razors and that is, of course, an entirely different category. The Best I can estimate is: Crown Super Stainless most frequently used, Man Smell Stainless Steel 2nd most used and roughly a three way tie between Wilkinson Sword, Sputnik and Voshkod.
I don't think I have any Crown blades. Ill have a look through my stash. What is your favourite SE blade? Of the ones Ive used, I liked Feather Pro Guard the most although to be fair, ive only tried 3 or 4 different SE blades. Kevy 😀
I agree blade choice is very subjective. At the moment my favourite blades are: Bic, Wilkinson Sword, Feather and Astra Green. I haven’t tried Nacets or the Gillette Wilkinson sword blades yet
They're not only subjective in regard to the user but also the batch made. I'm finding that blades I've loved are different from one 100 pack made several years ago to another one today, or even from pack to pack. Some are saying that the Astra SP's today are slightly different. I like Sharp Super Stainless blades but a recent blade I used gave me a good shave, but it wasn't smooth at all. I also had to throw away 3 or 4 blades out of a pack of Rapira Platinum Lux blades because they didn't cut at all.
Hi Kevy New to your channel. As a noobie to DE shaving, I wasn't sure if it was me that was the issue when shaving and found your blade review very helpful. I had the same experience with Feather blade. Used it in the Rex Ambassador and the Feather AS-D2 and I was left quite sore. Just a side note, I did find the Feather blade on setting 3, in the Ambassador worked very well and not so great on 2. You would think a Feather blade in a Feather holder would be a perfect match. Nope. Left with a very sore neck. But put the Feather blade in the Mühle R106 and it's brilliant. I've now watched all the top 6 and made notes for future purchases.
Great choices Kevy!!!! My choices are Personna Reds are definitely my number one, then Bolzano, then Kai blades, followed by Derby Usta blades, then Gillette Nacets, then Gillette Silver Blues. Again, YMMV, but these are the blades that have been tried and true on my mug. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!!
I like personna too... But when I use it on my legs, I think I need something else like less thin? I have a Timor. My only downside is personnas blades comes in plastic packaging. Kinda ruins the point of going zero waste 😭
I had a 5pk of derby to start with back in 2014. Few months later I invested in a 100pk of Astra greens. Lucky me they are very good DE blades and I still have about 6 pks left! Ive gotten sample packs of Gillette yellow pk, green pk, 7 oclock, wilkinson, and Feather few years back. Once I run out of the Astra greens, Voskhod are on my list and I willy certainly try sample packs from then on out.
Started with Astra green and tried Pol Silver, Gillette Blue, Feather and a few others. I've stuck with Pol Silver and love them. They're tough to find and more expensive than some but i love them. The Feathers were fine. The Gillette Silver Blues cut me up something terrible. Itend to think it was me or my technique, but, i've never had an issue with The Pol Silvers.
Great choice. Seeing 7OC super platinum black at #2 feels great. Gillette India has upped the price to $15 for a 100 almost a 40% increase in price Since Jan 2021. I am hoarding up old stock for around 8-9 $ a 100 while I can get them. If you get them for a good price internationally- panic buy!
Many thanks Kevy and appreciate your insight. Yes, it is a very subjective business and ironically I am struggling to get on with the Nacets. That said I would also have the Perma Sharp and Gillette Platinum in my current top 5 along with Gillette Silver Blue, Astra green and Derby Extra. Must give the Gillette Wilkinson Sword and 7 O’Clock Super Platinum a go. Best wishes 👍🏼
If you go to Amazon and type in "100 Cloud Bruce Lee Double Edge Razor Blades", you'll see some very unique blades. I once owned some, but I never tried them before I sold them off. Wish I would have kept a few. Even if the blades suck, they at least have some kickass art.
@@lukeshepherd9529 how do you know that? I’m looking for Polsilvers… I see Wizamet are comparable but there are so many blades made in Russia. All of them good but hard to tell which are which. I’d like to know what Russian blades are the different. I love Voshkod for testing a new razors aggressiveness. Just got my Karve in the mail and used it with the C plate and it tore me up admittedly I gave the razor no respect (used using my Feather AS-D2) using Gillette Silver blue. Just bought a B plate today but I’m glad I taught myself that lesson. Should of used my Voshkod for first time use in any razor. That being said I do love the Karve razor. More so because I’m used to the angle of shaving with my Feather AS-D2
@@greg6162 I know an official reseller. He was receiving Polsilver stock directly from the factory through the vendor. As you know Gillette took over Polsilver and eventually they got re-branded. We asked and they use the same machines, inside the same factory exactly as before. I can get UK stock directly from the factory.
The neat thing about safety razors is they all excel, or not (lol), with certain blades, making lots of combinations. So far, my bread & butter is a vintage Gillette Slim on setting 1 with a Gillette Silver Blue blade. Smooth with outstanding longevity. Ten bbs shaves per blade, no events or irritation.
I'm a beginner with an incredibly contoured, sensitive neck. Gillette Wilkinson Sword has been giving me the best results so far. I also like Gillette 7'Oclock SharpEdge, Lord Super Platinum, and the Nacet. I'm still trying new ones though.
hi! that "sensitivity" is given by the weird hair growth on your neck. most probably you go ATG when you should not. map your beard - there's no way around it. i have no problem with left side of my neck, but i get allot of iritation on the right side. i had this problem for a complete year when i started, until i realized that the growth on both sides is not the same and i was going almost full ATG on the right side. i changed the angle for as much XTG that i could and i had no problems since then. i still get some smal irritation, but that goes away in 30 minutes or so.
I always like to see people's preferred blade of choice. As you say Kevy, it's very subjective. My current favourites are 1. Gillette Platinum (dark blue packet). 2. Gillette Silver Blue. 3. Bic Platinum. 4. Astra Blues. 5. Wilkinson Sword. The only blades that I'll stay away from, is the Astra greens. They just don't work for me. As always, best wishes from across the Tay! 👍👍👍💈
Order depends on the day and razor. Feather 7 o'clock - yellow Personna - Israeli blue Wilkinson Sword - German Gillette Platinum Pol Silver Runner up Gillette Silver Blue
Thanks for the video Kevy. I was surprised I didn't see Astra green in the mix, but I have had good experience with all you listed. My list 1. Astra Sp greens (6-7 shaves) 2. Nacet so (3-4 shaves) 3. Perma sharp (4-5 shaves) Can't say I've used much more extensively. Blades that don't work for me are Voskhod, treet, and anything on the smooth but not sharp end of the spectrum. I should try them again now that my shave technique has improved.
Great list... never tried the Nacet blades and the black 7 o'clock's.. looking forward! I really like Astra green as well as the blue ones...I actually experience them as fairly similar.... although the blue ones are different material according to the package. As you're saying, it's very subjective...🙂
Nice list! My top 5 atm is: 1. Asco SS (orange); 2. Derby Premium; 3. Astra SS (blue); 4. Gillette Nacet; 5. Lord Super. Honorable mentions: Perma-Sharp Super and Rapira Swedish Supersteel. P.S. The Gillette Platinums (good blades, just not my favorites) that you have there are very available here in Romania in almost every supermarket and I also found them in lots of places in 2019 in Germany and France.
My #1 also Nacet. My #2 Astra SP (green) My #3 Permasharp 1/2 blade My #4 Feather with exactly same caveats as you, Kevin. Beyond top 4 I’ve not yet got an opinion that’s based upon enough experience.
My top: 1: Joint 1st Gillette Silver Blue and Astra SP Green. 2 Joint 2nd place Gillette Platinum and Gillette 7 O'clock Green (not the same Gillette Platinum you showed Kevy). 3: Joint 3rd Gillette Nacet and Gillette 7 O'clock Yellow. 4 Super Max Blue Diamond Titanium. Even though I have the Super Max in fourth place, it is one of the best blades I've put through my Rockwell 6S, whereas in my Rex Ambassador it gives me a rough shave. So the place orders would change, depending on the razor I would be using.
I'm sure those Supermax Blue Diamond were in one of my previous top 5 lists. I bought 100 of them as I was impressed with them. I havent used one for a while. Another one to revisit. Kevy 👍
Today I officially gave up on Feather blades. I have never had a smooth or bloodless shave with them. Persona lab blue seem the best for me at the mo but I struggle to get more than two shaves from them.
Hello Kevy, for me all Gillette blades that are made in Russia are very good. My go to blade in any razor is the Gillette 7o'clock yellows. For me the best blade.
Excellent information Kevy! Those Gillette Platinum blades on the blue card are not Swedes (at least not as I know them). I have some Swedes in my blade stash; I'll take a photo send it to you on iMessage (NOS Swedes have the following information on the back: Distributed by/Distribue par Gillette, EMB 92693, Levallois-Perret Cedex, Espoo-Esbo Kobehavn, London TW7 5NP, Oslo, Stockholm). I agree about the Feather Hi-Stainless blades...OMG sharp and unforgiving. Mild razor only blade for sure. Gillette makes some great blades, both vintage and modern. I will have to edit to give you my top blades, but I can say Gillette Rubie Platinum blades are among them. Top blades: Brazilian Gillette Platinum Plus, Gillette Rubie Platinum, Perma-Sharp Super, King C Gillette, Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum, Rapira Platinum Lux, and Astra SP
Persona Platnum (Reds), Gillette Yellows and Nacets are my top 3!
1. Gillette Wizamet (By many regarded the same blade as the PolSilver)
2. Personna Red (Blue pack with red writing)
3 Gillette Nacet.
4. Treet Platinum
5. Gillette 7 O'Clock Black
5. Voskhod
4. Bic Chrome Platinum
3. Permasharp
2. Gillette 7 O’Clock Sharp Edge
1. Gillette Platinum
There are many blades out there that I haven’t tried out yet, and some could work and others might not. Overtime, this list can change as my wet shaving journey evolves with experience and technique. I gotta revisit some of the blades from this list at some point because it’s been a while since I used them. Other than that, I love those blades that made the cut on my list
I quite like Shark Chrome blades as well as Treet. Part of the enjoyment of wet shaving is trying out all the different blades. Thanks for the video.
I prefer the shark super stainless! lol
Green Astra for most of my razors - cheap as chips and will never let You down. When I need a sharper blade for a mild razor, I would agree with You on the feathers. They’re the only blades I
need/use. Simple as that.
Keep up the good work Kevy.
Good Health to You and Yours 👍
7’Oclock SS (greens) are my top, followed by Astra SP. Feather are good for me but only in my 34c. Thanks Kevy!
I thought you lived in a bathroom.

With heaps of toilet rolls during the pandemic along with all his shaving gear, he does live in a bathroom.

Nacet is great. My favorite is BIC chrome platinum. Sharp, smooth AND durable!
Thank you Kevy, hope you are keeping well

VOSKHOD Teflon Coated are amazing for me.
My experience with them was that they were really amazing but then I started getting some really bad duds in some packs. Dorco prime platinum & persona platinum chrome are good alternatives for me.
These and derby preminum are super smooth, no razor burn on the throat.
7 o'clocks are awesome, I find that feather give me one good shave, then get rougher and rougher with additional shaves. Strange. Thanks Kevy...
Totally agree with the Nacet Kevy. I also like the Rubie, Feather, Bic Chromiun and Dorco 301's.

Thanks for sharing, great vid! I've been hooked on the 7 O'clock blades for a long time. Will go try the Nacet now😆
Nacets arrived and WOW!
Soo smooth in shaving and result!
I'm hooked! Glad I ordered 100😆
Hi Kevy enjoyed seeing your pick of blades. I love Nacets the worst blade I’ve tried recently is Voskhod My opinion was they felt blunt as they pulled and tugged I have used two blades and not bothered since. Keep up the good work and keep well and keep safe.
I got a bad Voskhod blade once and Ive never enjoyed them since. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Those are all great blades! Thanks for sharing, Kevy! 👍🏻

Really good video and some great tips. My favourites are probably Wizamet, Nacet, Wilkinson sword saloon pack, and 7 o’clock yellow.
I’ve just recently bought some Permasharp and 7oclock greens to try out too 👍
Nacet is simply the GOAT 👍. Dorco Prime is also an awesome blade kind of a hidden gem.

I know what you mean about Feather blades. Many years ago, Douglas from PAA did a video where he showed how you can use your jeans/some denim to strop a Feather blade - and avoid that harshness in the first few shaves.
I remember that video. Some people run the blsde over a cork to take the harshness off a Feather. Kevy 👍

Thanks for the tips!
Gillette 7 o'clock Yellow.
Gillette 7 O'Clock Green.
Gillette 7 O'Clock Black.
Voskhod.
Feather... but only in the Feather
Gillette Nacet.
Stay safe,
Dave.
I'm with you Kevy, the Gillette Nacet is a very good blade and a close second for me is the Gillette rubie. I also enjoy using the Astra green 👍
Kevy ✋🙂👍💈 great top! Similar video about brushes, razors, soaps, creams and aftershaves will be interesting too 👍 all the best 🤗
Gilette silver blue 🔝
The Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (Greens) are also good
They sure are. One of my favorites.
Very cool. I would love to see the same video for brushes.
Also try feather blades for a cold shave. It's not a guaranteed irration free shave. But from my experience, it definitely can help and improve the shave with feathers.
A
Interesting video. Thanks for showing. 👍🏼
1. Permasharp (second sharpest to Feather for me but so smooth)
2. Wizamet
3. Feather
Cheers and stay safe mate,
Dave..........
Dave.
Nice one Dave. I'm not sure if I've used a Nacet in the Outlaw either! 🤔 Cheers. Kevy 👍
Kevy, Great review. Would it be possible to have a video on your five favorite, stainless steel double edge safety razors, with five honorable mentions? The best to you, Mrs. Kevy and Riley.
That's been filmed. Just need to edit that one Ernie. Stand by! 😀
Timely video mate!
Currently filling up my online cart with a varied assortment of DE blades to tryout.
Gonna give the 7o clock blades a go!
@Kevy Shaves the feather blades seem to perform very well in a gillette heritage razor too
Good list. Feathers are definitely the sharpest and I only use them with very mild razors like Henson, Feather AS-D2 or 34c or 45c.
Biggest mistake I ever made was on my very first wet shave 2 years ago, I used Futur with Feather blade lol
Let's just say it was a blood bath.
Ouch! Feather in a Futur on your first shave? That's an offensive weapon! 😮😂😉 Cheers. Kevy 👍
6. Blue Diamond
5. Perma-Sharp
4. Nacet
3. BIC Chrome-Platinum
2. Zorrik SP
1. Elios
There it is.
Cheers. Kevy 😀
My list Kevy: 1) Astra Green 2) Parker 3) Gillette Platinum, I have a ton of others that just don’t work as good as these.
Yep the Nacet is superb for me. Also really like the Treet Platinum.
They even ship internationally)
-Gillette Super Silver
-Wilkinson Sword (German made, they got really good in last few years)
-Perma Sharp blades
-Gillette Nacet
But, to be honest, as time goes by I find that really "razor is a razor and a blade is a blade" (to quote Fuzzy).
Nacets work very well for me too. Cheers. Kevy 🙂
My top 3 are the Wilkinson Saloon Pack, Perma Sharp and Astra Green. A honour mention for the Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow. On th other hand, Feather and Gillette Nacet are not working well for me...
Hi Kevy. The Last top double Edge Blades, you did was in February 2019. Thank You.
Hi Kevy, Thanks for keeping us entertained during another lockdown in Scotland.!
Best 6 blades so far for me are.
Voshkod, Rapira, Rubie, Polsilver, Astra Green, 7 O'clock yellow.
So well said Kevy - great video!
Derby Usta are another great blsde. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Kevy 😀
Thanks for the video mr.kevy!!!
Shave- a-thon agreed
Hi Kevy
New to your channel.
Blades are so subjective to each individual. Kevy 👍
Samole packs are the best way to try different blades. Kevy 👍
I've not yet tried any of your top 6.
I really like, in no particular order, Ladas, Lord cool, ASCO, Big Ben, and Blue Bird blades.
My Favourite blades are Astra green , and Feather blades
Astra SP. Most universal.... seem to work well in any razor.
-
Started with Astra green and tried Pol Silver, Gillette Blue, Feather and a few others.
Love all those blades Kevy😃
Many thanks Kevy and appreciate your insight. Yes, it is a very subjective business and ironically I am struggling to get on with the Nacets. That said I would also have the Perma Sharp and Gillette Platinum in my current top 5 along with Gillette Silver Blue, Astra green and Derby Extra. Must give the Gillette Wilkinson Sword and 7 O’Clock Super Platinum a go. Best wishes 👍🏼
Bolzano , super shave x , wizamet , nacet , king c Gillette , persona blue , Wilkinson sword in black packs are really decent for the money aswell
If you go to Amazon and type in "100 Cloud Bruce Lee Double Edge Razor Blades", you'll see some very unique blades. I once owned some, but I never tried them before I sold them off. Wish I would have kept a few. Even if the blades suck, they at least have some kickass art.
Nice video! Already subscribed! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you 🙂
Howdy Cap’n Kevy!
My top 5 blades:
1- Gillette Nacet 🐐
2- Astra Green
3- Gillette 7 O’Clock Black
4- Perma Sharp
5- 7 am Plus
Cheers 🍻 🤠
Polsilver made in Poland, is my #1, then Gillette 7 O’Clock black, Gillette Stainless in Red box, Polsilver, then Gillette platinum
The Gillette platinum are the Polsilvers just rebranded into the Gillette name.
Having tried many blades, my number one is the Personna Platinum closely followed by the Gillette blacks. Take care.
Cheers
🥃😷
Hadn’t heard of the Nacet before. Just placed an order for 25.
Feather
7 o'clock - yellow
Personna - Israeli blue
Wilkinson Sword - German
Gillette Platinum
Pol Silver
Runner up
Gillette Silver Blue
Thanks, I use rockwell blead very nice, and gillette nacet
Thanks for the video Kevy. I was surprised I didn't see Astra green in the mix, but I have had good experience with all you listed.
My list
1. Astra Sp greens (6-7 shaves)
2. Nacet so (3-4 shaves)
3. Perma sharp (4-5 shaves)
Can't say I've used much more extensively. Blades that don't work for me are Voskhod, treet, and anything on the smooth but not sharp end of the spectrum. I should try them again now that my shave technique has improved.
Astra green, are the best blade, I also get 6-7 shaves out of them.
My top 6
Astra SP
Pol Silvers, looking forward to new wizamets
Personna reds
Feathers
Bolzano
Rapira Plat lux
Nice one. I forgot all about the Asco blades! They are very good. Kevy 👍
Hello Kevy. I've been trying the feathers now to see if they work for me but i usually go with the Astor and the Gillette platinum
My #1 also Nacet.
My #2 Astra SP (green)
My #3 Permasharp 1/2 blade
My #4 Feather with exactly same caveats as you, Kevin.
Beyond top 4 I’ve not yet got an opinion that’s based upon enough experience.
My top:
1: Joint 1st Gillette Silver Blue and Astra SP Green.
Nice blades them yellows 🙂
@@kevyshaves4109 yep👍
Totally agree with the Gillette Blacks my go to razor blade.
Gillette does make the best blades imo and their vintage safety razors are still the standard by which all new razors are compared to.
