- This week, Pastor Ted Wilson talks about the law of God, the subject of the nineteenth fundamental belief of the Seventh-day Adventists.
Our first fundamental belief states that "the Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration. The inspired authors spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. In this Word, God has committed to humanity the knowledge necessary for salvation. The Holy Scriptures are the supreme, authoritative, and the infallible revelation of His will. They are the standard of character, the test of experience, the definitive revealer of doctrines, and the trustworthy record of God's acts in history."
In line with this, Psalm 119:105 (KJV) says, "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." It is upon God's Word-the Bible-that all our fundamental beliefs are based.
Now, let's focus on Fundamental Belief #19: The Law of God.
Remember Moses at Mount Sinai, receiving the Ten Commandments written by God's own hand on two tables of stone? These commandments were so important that before writing them down, He spoke them to the Israelites, reminding them that He is the "Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage" (Exodus 20:2).
But God's law existed long before it was written upon the tables of stone. It has existed since eternity.
In summary, the first four commandments describe how we show our love to God:
1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2. You shall not make for yourself any idols.
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
On the other hand, the following six commandments describe how we show love to others:
5. Honor your father and your mother.
6. You shall not kill.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet.
Unlike human laws that only regulate outward behavior, God's ten brief yet comprehensive, authoritative precepts go much deeper.
"There is not mystery in the law of God. All can comprehend the great truths which it embodies. The feeblest intellect can grasp these rules; the most ignorant can regulate the life, and form the character after the divine standard" (Ellen White, Selected Messages, book 1, page 217).
Our Fundamental Belief #19 says: "The great principles of God's law are embodied in the Ten Commandments and exemplified in the life of Christ. They express God's love, will, and purposes concerning human conduct and relationships and are binding upon all people in every age. These precepts are the basis of God's covenant with His people and the standard in God's judgment. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit, they point out sin and awaken a sense of need for a Saviour. Salvation is all of grace and not of works, and its fruit is obedience to the Commandments. This obedience develops Christian character and results in a sense of well-being. It is evidence of our love for the Lord and our concern for our fellow human beings. The obedience of faith demonstrates the power of Christ to transform lives, and therefore strengthens Christian witness."
While 1 John 3:4 defines sin as "the transgression of the law" and Romans 3:23 tells us that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God," God's law points out our need of a Savior, Who justifies and sanctifies us through His blood and His Spirit, giving us His power to keep His commandments.
"We love Him because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). Jesus also tells us, "If you love Me, keep My commandments" (John 14:15). And the Apostle John assures us that "His commandments are not burdensome" (1 John 5:3).
God's law is an inspiration to the soul. Psalmist David exclaims, "Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day" (Psalm 119:97). "I love Your commandments more than gold, yes, than fine gold!" (verse 127). "Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, yet Your commandments are my delights" (verse 143).
God gave His law to provide people with abundant blessings and to lead them into a saving relationship with Him. Let's thank Him for the incredible gift He offers through His power as revealed in His eternal law of love.

We are under grace if we keep the Laws of God, we are under the law if we reject the laws and don't keep them.
Happy Sabbath!!
Amen and Amen!!! I love it how pr Ted always displays such important topics!!! Gbu pr Ted!!!🙏😇📖🔥🔥😇🎶🎶🎶👍
" If you love me, keep my commandments "
" His commandments are not burdensome "
His commandments are his teachings not the 10 commandments
@@ketsune23uh- what did he teach? How much of the word of God should man live by? Not by bread alone.
@@ZachReifsnider the teachings of Jesus have nothing to do with the Hebrew Bible. The Father of Jesus is not YHWH. Jesus taught the fatherhood of mankind and the afterlife.
My faith is my shield that’s why I still trust in Jesus even though I’m struggling to providing for my two autistic children since losing my job over declining the vaccine. I declined the vaccine due to my pre existing health condition (Lupus) and Heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption from Forsyth Hospital. My husband passed away three years ago, I’m a single mother. I’m all alone. Both of my sons are non verbal so things are more hard on me. Every month I don’t know how we are going to make it through. Every month is a struggle, a battle to not end up on the streets. I was so depressed and embarrassed by my situation. I was so ashamed and overwhelmed. I have been put down and mocked by others because of my situation, and choice. BUT because of my faith I KNOW GOD WILL PROVIDE. Even as I face homelessness with two young children seemingly every month! I have faith that God will provide abundantly. He has so far! He has sent strangers to help me. Thank you Jesus thank you Heavenly Father. GOD IS REAL! You just have to believe!
Hang in there. God will never forsake you
💫Only those who are cleansed and sanctified by the Righteous, Holy presence of🌟Jesus living his life out through them by way of a daily Saving Love❤️Relationship of Prayer, Bible study and witnessing with him, will live an eternity on God's earth🌎made new!
Glory to the King. He is able to save all who are faithful . God give us strenght and endurance to wait in His promises
Trust and Obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey!!! Amen 🙏🙏🙏😇📖🔥🔥🔥😊💝🎶🎶🎶
Praise the LORD!
The law is the transcript of Your character and Your character is love. Thank you LORD for Ps Ted.

The 10 Commandments are often misunderstood by many people, including Adventist. Many think these are rules to restrict our freedom or put a burden on us as Christians. But in reality they are Guidelines to a beautiful relationship with God and fellow human beings, as well as his creation.
1. The First Commandment is not saying that we are to worship only one God. It's saying that God is the first person we are to love and have a relationship with. All other relationships are secondary.
2. Some people think the Second Commandment means we can't have any statues or picture of God in church. But that's not at all what it's saying. It's talking about using material objects to worship God or use his power. The Bible itself can become a graven image when it is used as a replacement for God himself, such as putting it on a demon possesed person or reading it to drive out demons rather than praying to God himself.
3. The Third Commandment is not a rule against saying God's name or cuss words when you hit your thumb with a hammer. It's about how you reflect God with your words and actions. If I claim to be a Christian and go to a strip club, I'm breaking this commandment.
4. Many Adventist think the Fourth Commandment means we can only go to church on Saturday and no other day of the week. But that is not the case because nowhere in the Bible does it say we're required to only go to church on the Sabbath. Rather it is asking us that if we love the Lord to set aside the seventh day of the week (Saturday) to spend a day with Christ and fellow Christians. That doesn't mean we can't do the same on the other days of the week. In fact, I believe God would be happy if our churches were open 24/7 so we could have a place to worship him every day.
5. The Fifth Commandment is not limited to our parents alone. It is advising us that as Christians we are to show respect to our elders, including Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, Pastors, Teachers, Managers, and so on.
6. The Sixth Commandment is not a command against killing in general, such as war, self defense, or the death penalty. It's only a command against murder, or unjustified killing, including abortion.
7. The Seventh Commandment is made to protect the foundation of all relationships, Marriage. Without it, all relationship cease to exist, including our relationship with God himself. Many Christian often mistakenly believe that when Jesus said to the Sadducees "In the Resurrection the neither marry nor are given in marriage" he was saying there will be no marriage in Heaven or the New Earth. But if you read the whole story carefully (Matt. 22:23-33, Mark 12:18-27, and Luke 20:27-40) you can see the real issue of the debate was about whether there will be a Resurrection or not. Plus, if Jesus really meant there was going to be no marriage in Heaven or the New Earth he would be contradicting himself from when he earlier said to the Pharisees that it was wrong to end marriage in divorce because God brought the husband and wife together (Matt. 19:3-6 and Mark 10:2-9).
8. In our material culture some people believe the Eighth Commandment should be the seventh. But there is a couple of reasons for this. First, the number seven in the Bible is a symbol of fullness, or completion. Having a car or house can never make you complete as a spouse and God can. Second, if you lose your car or house it can be replaced over time. But if you lose your spouse or God they can never be replaced. Still protecting one's property is just as important as protecting one's family. And just as good Christian will never steal another man's wife, or another woman's husband, so too we are never to steal another person's property and possesions.
9. The Ninth Commandment is not about lying in general. It's about accusing someone falsely. When Rahab lied about where the Israelite spies were, she was not breaking this commandment because she was protecting God's people from being harmed. But when Jezebel had two men falsely accuse Naboth of cursing God so that he would be killed and her husband Ahab could have his vineyard, she broke this commandment.
10. The Tenth Commandment is a warning of how you could break the other nine. Those who desire another man's wife, or another woman's husband, not only break this commandment, but also the Seventh, and could possibly break the Sixth as David did to Uriah in order to get his wife Bathsheba.
Pastor what does the bible mean in Revelation 16 vs 15 keepeth his garments what type of garment is this????
U cleverly avoided which day is the Sabbath. Pope also calls SUNday Sabbath
