When I read Son of the Forest, I remember feeling pissed right along side the Lion at Dante. My first thought was, WTF is he thinking wearing that face to meet the Lion? Then, I thought if he hadn't, then he wouldn't have been able to wear it again. Dante's story is so captivating. I haven't read everything Dante yet, but what I have read, has made me a Huge Dante fan. I thought we would get to see more of him in the Dawn of Fire series, but there is still one book left. Maybe we get the trifecta of a Guilliman, Lion, Dante, reunion???? That would be a good read.

Dante: "Please I just want to die I've been fighting for millennia." Lion: "Imma need you to help me secure imperium nihilus and become a primaris." Dante: "... F*ck"
Dante will only ever die in battle and a new wave of black rage will wash over the Blood Angel Chapter. His funeral precession will be one of the biggest in history, with many chapter masters and maybe even a primarch or two in attendance.

Am I losing my mind? I could swear I remember reading Dante crossed the rubicon after the battle with Angron. I put the change in his appearance in son of the forest down to him drinking blood again. Pretty sure it mentioned he looked younger after drinking blood following the devastation of baal.

The nearest thing to retirement for a Space Marine is being assigned to non-combat roles. Usually when they have been maimed but do not require internment in a Dreadnougt to survive.

It's quite obvious how the relation between Dante and the Dark Angels will evolve: The Lion and his kin will eff it up as per usual.
