God bless you, sir! I've spent the last three days searching the internet for exactly what you just showed me in less than 5 minutes! Direct and to the point, just the way I like to be taught. Wish I could give you a big ol' kiss on the cheek!
For the longest time, I thought that I had lost some parts of my upper tension assembly of my Singer machine, until I watched your video this morning - and you have the same exact parts as I do in my machine. Thank you so very much for your video.
O thanks sooo much,,, because of this video i helped my mum to fix the issue of her singer.. without video it was mission impossible... so sweet of you from Lebanon!
Thank you good sir! I have a pfaff 50 with a tension problem, your video was of the utmost help. For anyone with a pfaff 50 the round pointed washer points toward the machine.
I was given a Singer 66-18 Crinkle finish machine today. This video was a huge help in getting the tensioner adjusted. I want to restore it to its glory! According to the booklet, it’s a October 25, 1946 model. With 15,000 allotted for production.
Thank you so much for your video! I have a Singer 206k given to me by my husband’s grandmother. It took me two tries taking apart and putting that tension knob together again and adjusting it, but it works now! This machine has been a sentimental decoration for years while I used my Janome machines. I’ve taken an interest in learning quilt piecing at age 65, and I decided it would be more meaningful to use Grandmother’s machine for the quilt piecing and mine for the final quilting. I can’t begin to tell you how relieved I was on the second try with taking that tension knob apart and putting it together again! You’re a great help and teacher! Thank you!❤️❤️❤️🧵 .,
Thank you so much. I just inherited a 1946 Singer 66-16 from my mom, passed down to her from her mother. It works better than my Singer One, but I was having tension issues. This fixed it and it was easy to follow your steps!
Today I spent 4 hrs trying to get the stitching tensioned on my Singer treadle,... It got just the same " thing" . I took it appart and fiddled with it, , and then put it together again, ... That little ring with the tooth on it was left over, reassembled the whole thing and it looked wonky,...still didnt work properly,... I walked away before destroying it completely... Thanks to your great tutorial, I will succeed tomorrow!....👏
This channel is very important. I am trying to fix my very old singer ordinary sewing machine. Thank you for this vlog. New subscriber from Philippines
Fantastic video! When I disassembled the tensioner I found that the split screw "doohickey" (that all the other peices rest on) was bent! 30 seconds with some needlenose pliers and it's fixed! Thank you!
This was so helpful, I was having tension issues and no matter what nothing would stitch right. After watching this video it helped me so much and now my stitch is spot on 😃
Thank you so much! I’ve using my grandmother’s old machine for the first time and was losing my head because of the tensioner until I watched this video!!
I followed your instructions to the letter. Getting the tension assembly back on correctly is not my problem though. No matter how I turn the dial my tension just won't work right and I am about to chuck this machine in the bin.
I own a Singer 201K, when I sew straight, the tension is ok but when I am on the reverse, the upper tension is loose so the thread comes out like dots, what can go wrong?
Honestly, I've no clue what the problem you describe could be since the direction the fabric is being fed is completely irrelevant when it comes to the tension assembly
Omg! Thank you, sir!! You solved my headache - how to put back tension thing (I accidentally took it off 😬). And you happened to have exactly the same model as mine and made amazing video!!! Omg! Thank you sir again!!! Love from London, Sanita
there is a flat plate that sits between two typical tension discs. That is to make the machine capable of running double threads/needle. Two tensioners in one
What part? The 66 and 99 share the same tension assemblies but depends on which tension. There is the old style and the new style (with the numbered dial). I don't know what you're asking
@@rayelkins7872 it’s the old style. And it seems the spring is messed up..I got it it to sew, a few rows but then it breaks. This is my first time taking tension off and putting back on . I’m just learning. I’ve had this treadle over 10 years. Since the end of May I’ve got 2 221 featherweights, a 66 in a case & a 127 in a case.ive adjusted cleaned all of them and love it! I’m learning as I go and truly enjoy it! Thank you for your help!
Ray Elkins I have a 3102 singer sewing machine and I threaded the machine and bobbin but when I began to sew the thread is not tight at all it is so loose that it immediately comes apart. Its like its not stitching into the fabric.
I hate my sSinger 201. There's really nothing mechanically wrong with it but whenever I go to use it, it acts up or behaves finiky. Overrated machine. "Rolls Royce of sewing machines" - m'eh.

Thank you so much! I just did my very first repair with your guidance. I have a gorgeous 185J and now it will work.

Thank you so much! I’ve using my grandmother’s old machine for the first time and was losing my head because of the tensioner until I watched this video!!
Thank you so much! That very first thing you did is what I needed! The entire tensioner stud was morning like you showed. Perfect.
Learn something new everyday. You have demystified the tension dial for me. Thanks
I know it's a older video but this helped me with my good housekeeper!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much! I never knew that the spring in the thread tension could get so rusty
Thank you so much!!
I was trying to fix my mum's machine and this video was of great help.
This was BRILLIANT! This helped me address that ornery back spring without shooting it across the room! Thank you, Ray!
Singer 201 sawing machine i have done the above steps although upper thred and bottom thread are not join. What's the problem?
Hey we have an issue as this screw that you put things on is broken, do you know how to detache it?
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! DID IT, you are an excellent instructer. I could not afford repair and well, I did it! thanks to you.
Fantastic! I didn’t know you could just push the number wheel in to adjust the positions re the spring! You just saved me a lot of angst!
I followed your instructions to the letter. Getting the tension assembly back on correctly is not my problem though. No matter how I turn the dial my tension just won't work right and I am about to chuck this machine in the bin.
same me i get frustrate sometimes.
Working my 1920 singer treadle I have a different spring and for the life of me an extra disc any ideas
You haven't mentioned the pin inside the shaft. I don't see mine move when I lift/lower the presser foot. Shouldn't it?
Just what I needed to help sort out my top tension on a new Japanese clone machine that I just acquired, thank you so much!
Hii I have one don't in tension disc thread is not staying it came outside while stitching machine not rotate it
Ah, now I know what is wrong, the back of my spring the tiny clip is broke off. Time to order a new one. Thank you so much for the video !
THANK YOU ,thank you ,thank you ! Now I can solve a long standing problem !
Please what should I do when my thread lever stuck.
Thank you now i know what the problem and what the importants parts i have lost....thank you very helpful...
This also helped me set up my tensioner on my 99 thanks heaps 😊
i tried what you are doing but can't figure what i did wrong now my machine is giving me a headache. but i will try again
This video worked like a charm. Thank you!

Thank you mate, thank you. No problem now.
Best Video and explanation. Thanks
Did you put the bee hive spring in upside down?
No, things won't go together right if it were upside down
It’s opposite mine also
My 306 W has a 3rd flat disc which appears to not belong to the tensioner. Am I correct in this assumption?
there is a flat plate that sits between two typical tension discs. That is to make the machine capable of running double threads/needle. Two tensioners in one
I have problem with my machine,i cant use, because of tension
Very useful, clear advice. Thank you
Thank you. You are the best!
Great video, very helpful thank you!
Is the sitting different for a 66-1?

Why is thread in my sewing machine not sewing in my fabric... I need your help please
I would need a bit more info to answer you question.

Excellent, thank you.

Probably just needs to be set up, get some assistance in that and you might love it 👍
