- I was due for a solo trip and this one checked almost all of the boxes. I had some great food and cocktails and meet some amazing people. I stayed at a cool hotel called the Hu Hotel and loved the view from the rooftop bar. I enjoyed walking around downtown Memphis on the first day just getting the lay of the land but the best was actually relaxing and have meaningful deep convos with strangers. Follow along with my travels in the city of blues.

I just heard walking in Memphis is so dangerous. How was it? Did you feel any danger while you were walking or you did not walk by yourself?
So I didn’t walk around at night too much by myself. And if I did it was a restaurant right across the street from me and I had someone on the phone with me. The first hotel I stayed at, The Hu I prob wouldn’t have done that there because there were more people hanging out in the alleyways and things like that.

You will feel safe in downtown memphis I work down here and always come out in the evenings and nights there are many people out at night stay on the main streets and not the side streets.
I live in memphis, memphis is not dangerous, youll hear a gunshot at home, work, or school BUT it’s mostly bc they get themselves in a situation from bein bad 😂
@@andiwallacehey! I’m staying at the Hu in September. When you say you “didn’t need to do that”, does that mean you felt safer there, or less so?
