Thanks for the shout out! Here's the drive cycle procedure to reset the sensors for the smog test:
Start engine, let idle for approx. 2 min, 10 secs.
Accelerate to 20-30 MPH, Maintain steady speed for approx 3 min, 15 secs.
Accelerate to 40-60 MPH, Maintain steady speed for approx 15 mins.
Decelerate and come to a stop. Then:
Idle in Neutral for 5 mins. (manual trans.)
Idle in Drive for 5 mins. (Tiptronic trans.)
During the drive cycle, do not exceed 3,000 rpm or 60 mph.
You Rock 🤘😎
A really useful video - thank you for taking the time to create this aid.
My Pleasure, thank you for watching 🤘😎
Very good video with a lot info👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad I didn’t bore you to death Enric! 🤓
Thanks for talking us through, great stuff to know.
Your welcome Robert 🙌 Thank you for watching 🤘😎
Depending on the year and model, the Durametric shows more or less options. Fairly simple on the earlier models but way above my pay grade when you hook up a newer car! One thing that one should use this tool for is to verify crankshaft deviation. Ideally this should read around zero but as the chain pads wear, the numbers vary. When you get above -6, you're looking at a pad change job. No worries for you, Finn, with your recent rebuild! I have a how-to on my channel ua-cam.com/video/xXfR60GAJd0/v-deo.html
Cheers, James
Great tute. Thanks for putting in the time. Where do you find the spec values to reference against?
All this information was pieced together from dozens of random posts, forums, manuals and photocopies sent to me by viewers. I don't personally know of any single location to find this information. Thank you for watching 🤘😎
@@ManinaGarage I was wondering the same. These scan and diagnostic tools are great, but if you get down into the weeds, I have no idea what the accepted baselines should be and there seems to be no reasonable way to find out!
@@ManinaGarage Well....Make a damn sticky video should you do another that becomes the single location for the info. Thanks for the work!
Hi Finn, tried to hit you with this question but was too slow!: Any idea if the Durametrick can do what the PIWIS calls a "vehicle handover"? I did a battery disconnect and lost my HomeLink and seat heaters. I'm told I have to crawl to the dealer for a PIWIS remedy. Bummer! My dealer wants $234 for a 5 minute reset!
Hello, What year is your car?

@@aboyandhisdog The short answer from me is I don't know. I returned the Durametric to Joby Yesterday. This video might help you. ua-cam.com/video/uXFuUbdF9A4/v-deo.html
@@ManinaGarage I have been looking for a fix that doesn't involve the dealer. Not prepared to purchase a PIWIS for this! It would be nice to have one, but I struggle with computers and I'm afraid it would be over my head!
Fantastic!
Thank you for watching Martin! 🤘😎
very nice video 🙏
Durametric doesn't work too well on the Cayman, I couldn't read the correct value for many of the options.
Sorry to hear that Tom, I appreciate you bringing it up. There was a connection glitch that I
left in the video to show the slightly glitchy nature of the Durametric at times. Thank you for watching & contributing 🤘😎
Awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for this great video. Just discovered your channel. +1 sub.
Thank you for watching! 🤘😎
