It wouldn’t be inserted to a chain like a piece of outboard, I’ll make a video on how to connect a converter to an interface with ADAT or aggregate device!
First, it’s important to understand the difference between an interface and a converter. Your AudioFuse is an interface with preamps and converters, while the RME ADI-2/4 is a high-quality standalone converter. To maximize quality, use the AudioFuse to handle inputs and outputs, but route the signal through the ADI-2/4 for better AD/DA conversion. For your outboard chain, send audio out from the interface to your gear (preamp → comp → EQ) and back into the interface, ensuring proper gain staging. This way, you get the best of both worlds-flexibility from your interface and superior conversion from the RME.

It’s all good stuff man and definitely subjective creatively. As far as objectively clean converters, the ADI is definitely a stronger device than the any of the interfaces RME sells. That said, they are designed to accomplish different tasks at the end of the day (dedicated converter vs interface). Hope this clears things up for you!

I will next time for sure, was honestly not feeling like reconnecting everything after all over again
Cool vid but never been a fan? That means you're kind of a noob and haven't used or been aware of any of the dozens of RME units that have existed for decades.
Today UFXIII + Ferrofish Pulse16 = done deal 🤝
@@justin.johnson the UFX is solid! But I do find that most interfaces in general don’t have stellar conversion in the interface boxes. I’m partial to Lynx, Metric and other interface converter that have stellar detail and dimension. I’ve used plenty of RME devices thankfully and their dedicated converter are where their conversion really shines!
You’re not buying it for the conversion if it goes out AES. AES is 100% digital. The conversion’s happening within the speakers at that point.
I had ATCs before and totally bought it for the analog conversion both as a DAC for them and as a loop back converter for my mix bus. I also use the converter for my Audeze MM 500 headphones because the amp in it is also crazy good. All analog except for my new PMCs!
@RAYNETHESAVIOUR I have the mm500s to go with my RME Pro Black Edition. IT'S INSANE!!!
@@AH20XX do you recommend the MMs?
@jonathanbobo722 whole heartedly!!!!!!! I love mine!! Best purchase I've made in YEARS!!
Sure!!! Next week something new comes and then it's the best.
Always the same nagging, quite tired of it now, people who think they have bat hearing when it comes to converters.
The beauty of technological advances is that gear does keep getting better and better! After all, you clicked on this video for a reason, if not at least due to some degree of curiosity - if not purely frustration with the gear review space
