Thank you very much for also filmed how you mod this! It makes it easy to follow, plus your editing is on point! I am going to do the same thing you did on my RK68, using JWICK red switch.
Welcome! Just wanted to help everyone out
Nice one man it’s rare to find a keyboard mod youtube channel as good as this that’s from Malaysia. Keep it up! You gained a sub from me!

It's all possible goodluckk!
Nice vid! I was planning to get an RKg68 as well and try my hand at modding. This really helped:>
Glad I'm able to help, have fun with your build 🔥
Hey Guys, it's RM1.20 for one lubed switch. I mentioned the wrong price in the video so sorry!! @BranClicks on IG
What does rm stand for

naise! love your video quality man. need to upgrade my keyboard asap xD
thanks bro! have fun upgrading
I just got my rk84 keyboard. Hahahah.. this video really helps. And good to see someone from kuching do a youtube channel about custom keyboard. Keep it up bro.
Thanks bro! Hahaha will try my best
No probs!! Btw, idk if u still remember, but I'm the one who buy the keyboard cable from u last month. 😂
@@Edmundmon90 oh nice 🤣 hahaha I think I remember
ive been putting my foam in the wrong place this whole time 😑 thank you for this video!!
No problems 🤣🔥
niceeeee! Keep it up!
Thanks!!
Good video! Deserves a sub.
Thanks!!
A very great video man and mine are already on its way. I'm planning to do the same mod as yours but using Gateron clear instead. As for the PCB foam that you're using, is there any hole that you need to cut by yourself to make it fits or it already came with the screw hole line up with the RK68?
The version I bought has the holes precut already, but if u get one that doesn't have the holes u can just use a penknife to pole a hole and screw in no problems
All the best modding!
Where did you get the keycaps at the start @0:13? The black & grey one. Are they stock?
No I got them from KBDFans, it's their grey keycaps
underrated
Thanks! 🤣🔥
would it be more economically feasible if I buy the switches and lube them myself? or are the lube expensive? And is there any difference between foaming the plate and foaming under the plate?
yeah u can defi lube them yourself, it may be quite hard if u have alot to lube but have no tools, like switch opener, lubed, lubing statin etc. Foam under the plate dampens the sound when typing, foam in the case get rids of echo
Hello, where did you get the black and white keycaps from?. I really like the keycaps
Hey I got it from KBDfans on Shopee, I believe it's on their website too!
do you know if the RGB lights will have any problems shining through with certain switches? I vaguely remember hearing someone say something about North facing LEDs or soemthing like that, which can be obscured by the switch...
Nah it's all good honestly, just some north facing RGB PCB might have problems when u use Cherry profile keycaps, that's all. No worries all switches actually fit almost 90% of PCB
great video man! I am about to do my first modding to a keyboard using the RK68. Im going with something similar but black and green it's going to be like a hacker style. I am also going to get Japanese characters too just because I love the look. is it possible to reprogram the pg up and pg down to home and end in the software and then place the relevant keycaps there?
Hey, I think it's possible with newer versions, but have fun modding!
I have this keyboard and have one problem when typing. Often for each key, after being pressed, it keeps inputting even when the key has already de-pressed. Resulting in repeated character, until i reset it by pressing any random keys. Is this a major problem with the rk68, or is it a defect on my board.
Anyone with same issue? Mine is stock not modded. All thoughts of modding are cancelled when this issue emerged.
Hey u can try pressing FN+ spacebar for 3 seconds to reset it if not u can try claiming the warranty
Seem you use cherry profile keycaps set for this
How do you feel about it? Does it has any interference problem?
As i know, this keyboard has south facing pcb, and most of south facing keyboard has interference problem with cherry profile keycaps
So far not at all, they are quite okay for my daily use
how are the quality of the keycaps especialy the black modifier ones ?, i am planning to buy a simillar one in the near future. great video by the way
Really great honestly, I love the theme and feel
currently im looking for the transparent case for this keyboard. have u ever seen any of it?
Yea, u can search Project 65 on shopee, or my latest RK68 video
Do you know where can I download the software where I can change the backlit colors using sliders?
RKgaming.com
hey could you tell me if the quality of those keycaps are good? since i was going to get them for a build
yes quite nice and thick
The board originally came with RK branded switches right? Was it able to fit the Gateron Yellows perfectly, without needing to crimp the pins like on an oetemu board?
Yeah no problems at all because it's 5pin
@@itssamueltan in this keyboard, can i use 3 pin switches too? I think i Will Buy it but the switches that I want ate 3 pins I think, the akko CS or something like that.
@@sebastianarizaparra5490 yes 3pin will fit no problems
Can you use screw in stabilizers like durock v2s in this board?
No, this board uses a plate mount so it wont support screw in ones
I'm planing on buying foam for this keyboard. Anyone know what's the right thickness of the foam for the keyboard case?
theres a link in the desc but aroumf 5mm would fit nice
The after mods sound test sounds kinda weird, is it because that the PCB is north facing and you're using a cherry profile keycaps?
Yes but some worn have interference, so far mine are ok
Cool video but I have a question, why do you put only a small amount of case foam in the keyboard but don’t put it until it’s all fit? Also I think you should put pe foam so it sound creamier
In a plastic case it doesn't really matter how much you use actually, and if you have the time and enough materials yes you can make it look good and fit everything. Yea PE foam does make it better too why not. 🤣 You can do anything you want this is just my method
Coming from clackers malaysia bro. your video always neat and cleaaan ✨
btw, the right shift and alt is 1.75u is it?
hey bro! Alt is 1u and the shift is 1.75u
I'm pretty late but I was wondering what is the size of the stabilizers for the rkg68? I'd also like to do the same mods as yours but I'm not sure what size I should get
It's the standard size, 6.25u for the spacebar and 3 more 2u
is there no cherry profile interference with the north facing switches ?
For some slimmer pbt, like non double-shot there's sometimes no problems
the upside down spacebar is driving me up a wall
It's the best way, you should try 👀
Good video, sounds like the keeb was doubled in price for accoustics afterwards. :)
Yeah, i was really surprised too
Are screw in stabs like durock compatible with the RK68?
No, only plate mounted ones will for this build
Will Gateron, cherry, kalih switch will be able to fit in the RK switch socket? If so, I dont have to buy the Gateron version if i want to change to switch to others?
Yes it will all fit from what I know
@@itssamueltan Thanks :)
Which keycaps were you already using in the video before you switched them out
KBDfans Grey Dye-sub keycaps, link in desc
Hope do they look with shine through keycaps? Seems like a good switch especially when lubed but I wonder if the back lighting is effected badly
They look awesome with pudding keycaps or shin through keycaps, after lubed it still looks fine nothing is affected
@@itssamueltan Right that's great, I see you've used the Akko Rose reds. Gateron Milky Yellow or Akko CS Matcha?
@@JOELLZE hmmm I would suggest Akko if u don't wanna lube, if u plan on lubing definitely get the milky yellow
Since the RK68 backlight isnt the brightest, it gets a bit darker but not much
I am thinking of doing the PE mod but I read there is a risk of PCB short-circuiting.
Are you still using this PE mod on this keyboard?
No, I recommend Poron tbh it's better
Where can you buy the keycaps besides the sight you provided
Honestly I not sure but I think AliExpress or banggood has them
Hi, I read somewhere where they said that cherry profile keycap will have an issue with north-facing led. Is that true? or it is only for gmk keycaps?
Mostly for some GMK that are Cherry Profiles, currently mine has no issue tho
@@itssamueltan I see.. thanks though! Good video btw 👍🏻
do you think lubing is actually worth the time? I'm modding my first keyboard and doing everything from holee modding and converting it from wired to wireless. the only thing im hesitant about is lubing switches cause it takes alot of time.
Lubing will go a long way in mechanical keyboards, if u want a better typing experience and better sounds u should because it's worth it but If u don't really care how it feels and sounds u can leave it unlubed
For what it's worth I'm going to grab a set of bobas as I've heard they're some of the best out of the box and that lubing them only provides a very slight difference.
@@fatalwinja2065 sometimes it comes very scratchy
Is there a significant difference between rk reds and gateron milky yellows?
Very big difference
how are you using cherry keycaps on a north facing pcb??
Hey some cherry clones don have problems with north facing switches
Hi just wanted you opinion. Do you think the cherry mx brown is good for gaming and typing or do you guys have a better option. Thanks in advance 😊
Hey I would say they are good but now there are better options for cheaper, but if you don't want to venture u can just get cherry brown
nice bro
Does this keyboard have issues with the LED bulging out? Heard that this might cause incompatibility with some switches that do not have space for the bulge. Otherwise, great build!
Ahh no, RK G68 has LED under the PCB, the RK860 of RK100 has that problem
@@itssamueltan so this keyboard wouldn’t have any interference issues with cherry profile keycaps?
@@TheMessedUpMind nope would work fine
How could I replace the case keeping the pcb
Hmm that is kinda hard but u can 3D print a case
planning to get those gateron milky yellows too and gonna pair it with doubleshot pbt keycaps which are cherry profile. in any case, would there be any interferences?
With Double-shot there's a high chance
do u have recommendations for budget linear switches that won't have interference with doubleshot keycaps?
did you film the gateron yellows or just lubed?
Just lubed
What keycap set is that btw
Sry cuz ur description thingy kinda messed up
Hey umm I got it from Taobao but it's from KBDFans
Hi! I'm planning to mod my RKG68 however I'm wondering if there's a difference between a lubed/clipped/modded stock stabilizer vs a lubed/clipped/modded Everglide/Durock stabilizer?
Hi there's actually a very big difference, stock ones are not so tightly fitted but after doing alot of mods it can only be better but not better than Everglide or Durock stabs
Oh I see! Thank you so much for answering!
There is a difference, but it's quite easy to get a thocky sound by using the Stock stabs. But i gotta mentions that it is a pain in the ass to holee mod the stock ones, since they are prelubed and u need to get the lube of the surface where you put the holee mod thingy. Sorry for the late answer tho
hi did u use 6.25u or 7u for the spacebar stabilizers? then 3x2u thank you 💓
its 6.25u and 3x2u
@@itssamueltan thank you 😊
Hello does the keycap has any interference since the pcb is a north facing one
So far mine has no problems because of the OEM profile keycaps
whered u get ur desk mat
From shopee, link in description
do those milky yellows have the north facing interference?
With slimmer keycaps no, with thick pbt it Double-shot yes
what keycaps before ur upgrade? the grey one
It's from YMDK link in description
Are the keycaps cherry profile? If it's cherry, any interference?
Yes cherry profile and no, no problems faced with mine
2 questions, Is the keycaps cherry profile? and does the switches north facing or south facing?
Yes cherry profile, and yea it's north facing switches but no interference from mine
@@itssamueltan howw
@@itssamueltan yea and implanning to buy rk68 with akko rose red switches andakko macaw keycaps cherry profile does it fit?
did it have interference with gateron yellow and cherry profile keycaps?
Yes there is a lil, but these are clones so I think maybe its abit different? So I don't really feel it
does using a stocked mod stabilizer and cherry hv much difference on the sound??
Honestly yes, there's a big difference
@@itssamueltan does rk68 stabilizer pcb screw in, plate mounted, or snap in? can I use durrock for rk68?
the spacebar looks a bit tilted?
Yeah I flipped it and realized it is abit tilted
Uh for the stab which you option?60 tkl or 2u only(sorry I'm new)
Also how much mm the foam to cover the hollow
60% or TKL would work, and the foam I suggest 1mm and below
Are the stabilisers pre clipped?
If u get them stock, no u need to clip them yourself but it's quite easyy
Can you change the Stabs without opening the board?
Yeap u can, I opened it because I wanted to add the foam
does gateron milky yellow have gaps on it? since rk68 hotswappable is limited (oly for switches tht hv gaps on it)
I honestly don't understand this, what do u mean by gaps?
@@itssamueltan rk 68 led lights kinda bulb out so mybe there is a reason why we can only use gapped switches? but since u r using the switches fine on rk68, it should be no problem at all..
@@maru6ix304 ah I think I know what u mean, newer versions of RK all have flush LEDs now so any switch can fit, but be careful with older versions they might have this problem
@@itssamueltan I see, thanks for ur information!!
Hi, for this keyboard is there any interference with the cherry keycaps ?
For me there wasn't any, but with thicker double shot pbt there will be
@@itssamueltan thank you, just for reference, how thick is your keycaps ?
Hello! How did you get the switches to fit? I recall the RKG68 has large bulging leds?
maybe I have the newer model so the led are not the large kind, maybe u can check out akko switches, they have them already cut out for the led
How can you know if it is fully charged btw?
Umm I think your can check in the software, but I just usually charge 3 hours
the sound test before and after using the same switch?
Sound test is before added all the mods and after
different switch
Great video thank you! Can you use the arrow keys as normal or does it need a modifier key? And does it have function key access to control music for example? I'd also want to upgrade the case to a wooden one, is that possible?
Welcome! To answer your question, yeah u can use it normally but there isn't controls for music sadly
the RK G68 has dedicated arrow keys. It does have media play keys using a function modifier (he just added keycaps that doesn't show the fn mods)
Are your keycaps cherry profile? If yes then were there any interference with the north facing switches
Yes cherry Profile and no I had I no problems
@@itssamueltan How would i know if my switch won't cause the interference?
@@amzet_513 if it is see through or not (the bottom housing)
the link in the description won't work for me :(
Which one?
will durock's plate mounted stabs work on this?
Yeapp any plate mounted stabs will work
@@itssamueltan alright, thank you!
There is no keycaps interference? Planning on buying the same keycaps set
There is a little but I don't mind it
If you're going to choose between RKG68 and RK84? What would you recommend?
if u need the fumction keys, f1 to f12 u should get the RK84
RK84 has a slightly larger battery too at ~3800mAh vs ~3100mAh in the RKG68.
Hi. Are all the links still can be use? I'm new at modding and really need help. I'm from Malaysia so can use Shopee.
Hey it should be still working fine, if you have any problems can comment here and I'll check it
Hows the connectivity? Any latetency for gaming?
2.4ghz no latency at all, Bluetooth has abit
do u know if this has any plates I can use for it? was thinking of getting brass for it
Hey so far I can't find any yet
@@itssamueltan yeah ive been looking for one compatible with it, unfortunately none so far
hi, do u have rkg68 software link? I cant found any of it :\
I would recommend rkgaming.com
@@itssamueltan thanks, rn I have an issue for the fn = number keys (f1-12) and I cant use them, how to fix this issue?
can we only change our switch without changing anything else??
Yea u can, just choose the correct Switches
which do you prefer, cherry or jwk stabs?
For plate mounted I prefer Chery, but screw in I always use Durock V2
Where can I get those keycaps and do I need to change the switch to add these keycaps?
No the original ones can fit the keycaps, I would suggest Shopee if you're in Asia but AliExpress and Amazon should also have them

It's very safe actually just have to be careful and take your time
Yeah seems like it is.. okay then, thanks!
Would it have an interference if I used a Cherry Profile Keycaps on my RKG68? Also, what is the keycap profile of the RKG68?
I'm using cherry, some cherry won't have any interference. For me so far no problems
@@itssamueltan I think the interference is no present because of the switches, I think the stem doesn't go all the way inside the housing.
