I love my iMamba, and have one with a really intricate piece of mammoth molar. It’s so nice and glassy. Gives me “sebenza on bearings” vibes. I love it. And the flipper tab on mine, and the fuller are both equally good imho. And I love how he’s a family business, with his entire famBam in the mix and in their photo for their webpage. It’s so cool to see them working together. If you tried the flipper model, you might like it a lot. There is something very refined about his milling and they do a great job down there. Shoutout to s African makers.
His older models can’t switch from bearings or washers, from what I understand. And in the past few years he has been making them with a pocket for bearings or thicker washers. Just an fyi - so no one buys a washer setup and wants it on bearings and can’t switch them. But the washers are smoooooooth as hell.

I’ve been enjoying the videos a lot lately. The knives you talk about are generally in my wheelhouse of things I would buy or I just like to learn about. No Chinese cheap knife videos every other day to weed through. Thanks Dirk

Thanks I really appreciate the kind words.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure I’ll do some cheap China knives here and there but I really try hard to keep a good mix of all knife categories and styles.

Just love the simple and elegant profile of the knife. "I'm no a drug dealer"...🤣🤣🤣 Great video my friend 👍

The iMamba is a great knife....when it has a flipper tab.

The flipper tab is a must for me. Also, I have the snakeskin carbon fiber inlays. My favorite knife in my small collection.

It’s nice but get a flipper tab version.

I only owned mine for a couple months. I heard the newer ones are better but the action on mine was a complete joke for a flipper. I will try to find one of the newer ones on the secondary for cheap to give them a second chance.

The version I purchased and got in recently has loose bearings. I was not expecting that, but not a big deal. It's a very smooth knife! My version does have a flipper as well :D Really good knife.

I have one with flipper but I reverse and thumb flick most.

High Dirk, it's clearly an impala shown on the hank, kind of iconic animal of South Africa.
The knife itself looks very gentlemanlike, but robust. I like the blade shape and the little hump in front of the handle. Could get it here in Germany for 575€, that's ridiculous IMHO.

I’m not sure the cost of this here in the US exactly so can’t compare.

I thought Sebenza as soon as I seen that.

What’s funny is that I never compared the two and the minute I held mine, it reminded me A LOT of a sebenza on bearings. Like a lot. The finish on the bead blast and the blade shape and edge. It feels like thinner and faster sebenza if you install the bearings and some can take washers or bearings. Older models can’t take the bearings but they’re silky AF.

I need to try a arno bernard. I dog his use of horn and natural materials

Without the tab the knife can be flipped open by three different methods. There is no need to slow roll the blade out. The video is a bit misleading in this regard.

Tiny baggie trick: just pinch the zipper between your thumb and forefinger and slide in opposite directions. In line, not across.

If it was the woman I watched identify a great white shark as a whale the other day, she would say it is a Bigfoot on that Hank lol.
