I like both, but in both they suffer from a problem of bad cut. If you pick the TV version cut, and compare with the Full version, the tv cut sounds off. Not good like the original version.
The guitarist and drummer are brother and sister so they probably had a lot of time playing together to build a tight rhythm. I always found sibling instrumentalists to be fun and very in sync. E.g Pantera and Van Halen
It's funny because it didn't start out that way! Originally it was just Daisuke and Nao (Vocalist and Drummer respectively) and they had another guitarist and bassist. It was only after they released their first album that the other two left and got replaced by Ryo and Ue in that order.
Fun fact: the girl who often sings in this song and in ending 3 of chainsaw man, is the Drummer of the Band. Also react to the endings 1 and 2 of Death note. ALUMINA by Nightmare and ZETSUBOU BILLY by Maximum The Hormone
8:05 I love how you mention Ue-Chan’s bass playing. Ue-Chan is heavily influenced by Flea, so you’ll hear that come across a lot in their songs. As for Drums, Nao is one of the most influential drummers in Japan. Many female drummers in Japan have cited her as an inspiration, the most notable being Akane from Band Maid, with many others stating they didn’t even know girls could play Drums until they saw Nao. So for as silly as MTH could get at times (you’ll find this fact out in many of their other songs) it’s important to know the mark they’ve left on the Japan music scene.
Another cool Japanese female drummer/backup singer is the one from Uchikobi Gakumon (they made the opening song for Netflix's 'Way of the Househusband'). Saw them live in concert at Viva La Rock 2022 in Saitama, and they were a lot of fun. Oh, and Maximum the Hormone were there too and they were awesome!
Awesome seeing some more Maximum the Hormone! 😁 I highly recommend you also listen to: - Koi no megalover - Zetsubou Billy (Death Note ending 2!) - Buiikikaesu I absolutely love this entire Album by them, so wacky and satisfying!
You made me listen to music in a totally different way, Tony and that's what I love about your content!! Been listening to this song for years and just now I noticed some of the things you said, thank you for make me appreciate music in a different way. You have to listen to their other songs, believe me that you will not get bored with MTH.
Maximum the hormone me regalo las ganas de disfrutar la música más pesada, increible que tengan la capacidad dentro de sus temas de cambiar el ritmo y se sienta tan agradable. Más reacciones a esta banda, tienen muchas canciones que lo merecen.
You could watch the opening to get the song with the visuals and then listen to the full version as well afterwards. Sometimes the 1:30 they use for the openings isn't continuous and actually different segments.
It’s definitely not what I had expected from an opening for Death Note, but that’s not a bad thing. I remember the meme status this had in the community way back then. “POOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRNNN!”
This is where I get to know the one and only Maximum the Hormone, at first listen I was quite shocked and didn’t even know if I like it. It just grows much later and man it never gets old or boring, just constant adrenaline listening this 🔥
The return of Maximum the Hormone!! Please check out some of their other songs from future albums. Their Death Note tracks are good, but I think they've only gotten better in their composition over the years.
The whole theme of this song is exactly like the "appleseed saga exmachina" animation, strong, quite rough, very similar and you feel like you're part of that group, lovely❤😍❤️
have you heard "F" by maximum the hormone? imo it's one of the best things they've written, and it's probably one of my favourite songs just in general. they wrote the song for the villain 'frieza' from dragon ball, and they even ended up using the song in an official dragon ball movie recently. would love to hear your thoughts on it when you have the time! and great video, this song is a LOT of fun.
you should listen to the short tv version as well, the one with the visuals, its actually a little different and not just the first 1 min out of the song, its like a the entire song but in a small duration
Please react to Gravity by Kevin Penkin... Or actually any literally any music by Kevin Penkin... Infact if you do a whole 3-4 hours of made in abyss ost full reaction you wont get bored at all.
It’s interesting that you recommended Gravity because he did react to Gravity on his twitch stream last week, and he said he was planning on covering it for the main channel
If you want unexpected listen to the full version of both endings from "Kumo desu, nani ka?" (OFFICIALLY translated to "So I'm a spider, so what"). The singer Aoi Yuki also voices the main character Kumoko. The songs are so much fun, specially with subtitles.
Funny trivia! When Funimation dubbed this anime and Adult Swim (Cartoon Network) aired it, they added subtitles to the opening song. Part of the lyrics is “Human Fucker”, but the subtitles where about high concepts like mans depravity or something. (I don’t remember exactly, but I do remember they didn’t match what they were saying haha).
Would love to see what you think about the Madoka Magica Openings and Ending, specifically "Connect" (the show's original OP), the original Ending "Magia the 3rd Movie's Opening "Colorful". Full versions would be fine too, but I think the 1min30sec versions are enough for analysis. Really curious to maybe find out what feel you get out of these if you were to react to them. Not gonna say more, as that could already spoil the fun, and I'd rather let you react blind than have you burdened with my expectations or the like :p
Lil detail at the end of the song, on the drop they smash in COMPLETELY off tempo, you know the break is coming cuz of that HUGE build up, but it still surprises cuz you didn’t expect it the moment it came at
Dude, I wish their albums were more available digitally so you could listen to Buiiki Kaesu, the first track off this album. They used to have the music video for it and for a few other tracks on UA-cam, but I'm guessing we're region locked. If you can track down Koi no Mega Lover, it's not only a catchy as hell song, it's also a fun video. Love this band
Thanks for the review , Tony .. You may also want to check the 2nd ending theme of Death Note as it was also done by Maximum the Hormone , it has a cool MTV as well
Another Maximum the Hormone song you should listen to is "F" It was written to be about Frieza from Dragon Ball Z, and was even used in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F.
Any youtube channel where you plan to release death note episode reactions in the future? Any chance on that or am I too wishful a thinker? Would be really interested in it. Its a win win honestly, it should get you good enough views over time too. Up to you ofc !
if you've never seen them you should check out the Band Anime "Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad" the music in the show is good and the intro is upbeat, about a japanese band trying to make it big and go to america.
I was _just_ about to comment that you should also check out the short version as an addendum, because it's even more Maximum the Hormone-y than the full song. To be honest to my biases, I often prefer the opening size versions. But this is the _one_ song where I think it is objectively better
You seem a little more in tune with Japanese bands, but a band with a standout drummer that gets literally zero attention in the west is gesu no kiwami otome. If you're not familiar, you should check em out. The few people I've gotten to have gravitated towards Hona Ikoka's drums. Otherwise I'm sure you're familiar with the madman Tatsuya Amano from crossfaith. But I'd be remise if i didn't recommend him too
YES!!! Thank you!!! Of course I want you to listen to more Maximum the hormone but ya that’s kinda their thing. Japanese SOAD or rage I’ve even heard Slipknot. And like sure ok yeah but no maximum the hormone does their own thing.
You absolutely need to do a reaction to Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin aka (Silverfang) a very old anime from 1986. It was hugely popular in northern european countries!
The second set of Opening and Ending are such a fun addition to the show!! I'd say that ending is easily superior to the opening!! Maximum the Hormone is such a fun band!!! The album from which this opening and ending are taken from is so much fun
Man, I still remember the time one of my childhood friend gave me a full discography of Maximum the Hormone when I was around like middle school age or something, but then it was way before I got into anything metal, so I could really only like like 1 or 2 songs out of the whole discography LOL and now of course I do appreciate much more songs by them, but my HDD fried at one point so a lot of them was lost to aether unfortunately :/
You should react to Gantz opening (Rip Slyme - Super Shooter), it's oldschool and super groovy. Speaking of oldschool, I'd also recommend react to Serial Experiments Lain opening :)
⏩ Video Question: Do you like opening 1 or opening 2 more?
For live content catch me on Twitch. www.twitch.tv/drumrolltony
Opening one is classic, but opening two in my opinion is just built different.
please check Inuyasha OP and ED. its a popular classic anime and its ost are really great.
I definetely love opening 1 more. But, I think 2 is really interesting to analyze in this channel
I like both, but in both they suffer from a problem of bad cut.
If you pick the TV version cut, and compare with the Full version, the tv cut sounds off. Not good like the original version.
Please react the full ending 2 as well🙂
The guitarist and drummer are brother and sister so they probably had a lot of time playing together to build a tight rhythm. I always found sibling instrumentalists to be fun and very in sync. E.g Pantera and Van Halen
lamb of god (chris/willie adler)
Rotting Christ ( Sakis/Themis Tolis)
It's funny because it didn't start out that way! Originally it was just Daisuke and Nao (Vocalist and Drummer respectively) and they had another guitarist and bassist. It was only after they released their first album that the other two left and got replaced by Ryo and Ue in that order.
White Stripes
i play bass, and my brother plays guitar, and we made a song about a rat jumping in the deep frier at Whataburger, lol
You've absolutely gotta do the second ending from death note. It's by maximum the hormone as well
zetsubou billy! my man!
I was gonna comment this!! It's a fantastic track as well!
zetsubou billy is my favourite out of all the op and ed
PLEASEEE
Such a good song
Fun fact: the girl who often sings in this song and in ending 3 of chainsaw man, is the Drummer of the Band.
Also react to the endings 1 and 2 of Death note.
ALUMINA by Nightmare and
ZETSUBOU BILLY by Maximum The Hormone
No wonder why they both have that same vibe
its a must at this point to react to the endings, i like them even more
Nao is a beast
He definitely didn't say that🤯
That explains why I saw what's up people in their spotify
2:22 “when it’s super splashy and dirty I love that”
I loved opening 2 so much better than opening 1 due to the fact it's the music i "normally" listen to
Me too
i dont listen to either types i rly like da first but da second one is goatified 💯 dont even kno da difference between rock and metal
This is not the music i normaly listen to, but i always prefer op 2
no1 asked what you liked more really

@@arcturionblade1077Feckin' jealous of you dude, wish I was there 😢, and I love Uchigokumon as well
im obsessed with their drummer shes amazing
Awesome seeing some more Maximum the Hormone! 😁
I highly recommend you also listen to:
- Koi no megalover
- Zetsubou Billy (Death Note ending 2!)
- Buiikikaesu
I absolutely love this entire Album by them, so wacky and satisfying!
Sweet. Thanks for the heads up on those
Kamigami also ☝🏽☝🏽
You made me listen to music in a totally different way, Tony and that's what I love about your content!! Been listening to this song for years and just now I noticed some of the things you said, thank you for make me appreciate music in a different way.
You have to listen to their other songs, believe me that you will not get bored with MTH.
Death Note is a classic
Always fun watching your reaction, keep up the good work!
Maximum the hormone me regalo las ganas de disfrutar la música más pesada, increible que tengan la capacidad dentro de sus temas de cambiar el ritmo y se sienta tan agradable. Más reacciones a esta banda, tienen muchas canciones que lo merecen.

absolutely adore the lunacy of this song with the vocals and cool as sounding guitars.
happy you found thsi >:)
It’s definitely not what I had expected from an opening for Death Note, but that’s not a bad thing. I remember the meme status this had in the community way back then.
“POOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRNNN!”

banger incoming
Oh man, I wish you did the full version of the JoJo openings. They're so good! But this is an awesome video.
He has. And it's a great video.
@@V.F.D.DaleSalvador Full version. Tony only do the tv Opening versions
@@heavensdooooor4251 no, he also does the full op songs

Yeah the full ops are amazing
The return of Maximum the Hormone!!

WHAT UP PEOPLE?!!
It feels like he was smashing all the instrument and like kicking it around by the end before he just coughed and walked away 😂
Love if you would do more of their songs in general
You should check out the ED 2 too, it played by the same band and to me its way better than the OP2, the song name is Zetsubo Billy.
Op 1: I am justice...
Op 2: I lied.... I am crazy...
Accurate XD
The whole theme of this song is exactly like the "appleseed saga exmachina" animation, strong, quite rough, very similar and you feel like you're part of that group, lovely❤😍❤️
I love the contrast this builds with the first OP. This song communicates perfectly that shit is going way downhill and out of control now.
have you heard "F" by maximum the hormone? imo it's one of the best things they've written, and it's probably one of my favourite songs just in general. they wrote the song for the villain 'frieza' from dragon ball, and they even ended up using the song in an official dragon ball movie recently. would love to hear your thoughts on it when you have the time! and great video, this song is a LOT of fun.
I can't unhear the misheard lyrics of him screaming "WHITE PEOPLE" at the end lol
The second ending of death note is also done by maximum the hormone
Don't ever look for a "misheard lyrics" for this song... you will never be able to hear it the same way ever again...
More Maximum the hormone!!
man, u should react "death note ending 2" too, it makes by the same band🥶
Yeah Zetsubou Billy is really good

you really made me listen songs differently. thank you
That was an incredibly fun analysis of a band I love but a song I don't play a lot. New appreciation. Thanks DR Tony!
“Lots of frozen pie”
“Home security”
That’s what he says in the chorus

Would've been cool if he reacted the opening 1 full version because it's so much better than the anime one.
Would love to see you analyze and enjoy FMAB openings and endings, they are literally all bangers. Guarantee.

I always got big System of A Down vibes from this one. That's a good thing.
I was looking for this comment lol. Massive SOAD influences
Cheers from italy dude you are amazing
Unfortunately there's not a lot of good quality recordings of old Maximum The Hormone stuff
Maximun the hormone!!
Outro 2 is also FIRE
Quick trivia, this is done by the same band who did ChainsawMan Ending 2
Ed 3* 2 is done by zutomayo
Man of culture 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Finally 🤩 This a good one. Next do Gintama openings and endings (especially ending song 17 and Glorious Days). Every single one of them is good.
PLEASE listen to their other song ZETSUBOU BILLY, it is the second ending of Death Note.
Of course you should react to Zetsubou Billy next 😂
Another Maximum the Hormone song you should listen to is "F" It was written to be about Frieza from Dragon Ball Z, and was even used in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F.

An anime opening that you might like is the opening for Bocchi the Rock - Seisyun Complex.

The endings (2) are also very good
Any track where the bass player gets to shine is ok in my book. Ue is one of my favorite bass players.
You should react to RADWIMPS's music. Sparke is the best example, and maybe grand escape.
