Adam.....😂🤣 that was just exciting watching Sharks visit your kayak, eat half of your Bonito and the smaller Shark chewing away at your bait bucket. I dont think I would've stuck around for any bigger Sharks out there. 😁🤣
Congrats on your dream catch! What an awesome experience to see such a cute baby Mako like that. Practically a newborn. I would have been too fascinated to keep fishing.
freakin awesome! congrats on the catch. & those sound effects on how fish swim- epic bro. Shimano should pay you for using & proving their product & that rod- priceless.
You can tell the fish by the way it fights *yellows* big up and down headshakes. Almost like a yo-yo *bonito* insanely scrappy. Constant vibration like headshakes. They fight insanely well for their size. You would think they are a lot bigger. *calicos/kelpies* decent headshakes a big charistic is that they run straight for the kelp once hooked. If you get em out of dere you should be good. Stay safe everyone and good luck.
That’s an impressive catch on kayak. Awesome! Do you ever worry about stringing your catch snd attracting sharks, sea lions or anything that could take it
I remember my only Albacore. 60 pounds, fought it for 90 minutes by myself until shark bit off his tail. Reeled it in and lost the biggest fish of trip by 2 lbs. So much fun. never forget. Great fish you got Adam. Love your videos and I still think your crazy for being in a kayak out there.
Thanks for the videos!! Enjoy their. 68 years old, very basic old ocean kayak 13 foot, try to get out 5 times a month at la jolla. Only been kayak fishing there 1 1/2 years.
Wow...good job bro! Lucky that was a baby mako or the whole bonito and your bait bucket would be gone! Nice yellowtail...but being on a yak off California with a fish hanging over and all that blood could spell disaster if there is a big tax man lurking around...you are brave!
Yellowtail are the strongest fish in so cal and baja, pound for pound!!! I caught a 42 lber in Loreto and after the captain gaffed that fish. I was done fishing for the day.
How far out did you go out? Im usually on the edge of the kelp bed closer to shore. Not sure how far to go out honestly. I too flyline the macs and also Carolina rig them. I'm going to start marking my lines to gauge depth.
well done brotha! first king is something special, you need to come to New Zealand bro, we get massive kings' on the regular, 30-55 pound is average, wait for the rona to be over of course.
I had to come back and watch from beginning to end. I had a LIVE today, for my birthday... I had almost 200 people in there! 🤯🤯🤯🤯 I'm so glad to see that was a small shark 🦈 Crazy that you can still save the fish. It doesn't release some kinda poison or anything?? Welcome to SoCal.. where we stay at 98° all winter! Bahahahaa
I was so confused about the yellow tail thing. So on the east coast they have yellow tail snapper and they are like the best eating snapper on earth. And bonita, they use as bait fish on the east coast but their sushi is just like tuna, Its great. I love this channel. I didnt even know there were spiny lobsters in the pacific ocean.
California yellowtail is a member of the Jack family. For fish you might be more familiar with in your waters to compare them to, They are most closely related to the Almaco jack and Amberjack.
great yellowtail. that shark was pretty cool. I've never had it myself, but Mako is suppose to be good eating. they target them here on the east coast.
That's awsome. Personally I would of gave the Bonito to the shark. It's not going to waste. Suppose it's cool you shared dinner with a little mako also.
You're lucky that it was a little mako. If his daddy had come along and gotten a whiff of fish guts near your kayak, you'd be in trouble. Is your radio waterproof? Carry an epirb?
Caught my first yellow tail 3 months ago la jolla, 17 pounds on a hook-up-bait 1 ounce chovie sport size, just dangling on the bottom while messing with another rod. Medium, 6'6" spinning reel, 30# braid 20# mono leader. Fought for 20 minutes. Fun time, and yes, blood all over the ace.
I was gonna say, you need to reel those in quickly because of sharks. Thankfully he was small and not a bigger one. Beautiful colors on the shark though
That little mako was the cutest little killing machine, tryna gnaw through your baitbox.
hehe i know right
Yeah I like when they are that small...
What I love is the excitement in the persons voice and face. You can really tell the love of fishing this guy has. Great job!

Nice, I miss fishing for the yellowtail in La Jolla, caught alot of big ones there
Wow! What a great trip, both for that bonito and especially for the mega fight of that yellow tail.My arms were getting tired just watching the fight!

Wow, glad you moved, that's a big fish...love to hear that drag..
Fish on...🤙🏽😃
If you have a two fish-limit, your limit would now be 1.5 fish? :)
hahahaha yeah good point!!!!
Where do you launch from? I would like to bring my Kayak down there.
Awesome fight and nice Yellow T. Safe fishing.
Nice dinner lobster and yellowtail! Nice job. Adam!huge fish!

Nice work Adam. I’m very happy for you!
Great 👍🏼 job Adam !!! Keep up great work !!!
Right at 3:10 you can see a thresher shark tail behind your left shoulder haha
Always happy to see you catching fish man 👍
30lb isn’t light for yellowtail. A lot of times we’ll go as low as 15
We? Don't group all of us in that category.
@@Gmark25 we is referring to people who fish for yellowtail. Idk what ur trying to say
@@landonlaskey605 That is what I'm saying. I don't even go 15 for Calico's. Not worth the effort with kelp/structure.
Ok...? So what’s ur point
I’ve caught yellows on 15 and calicos
That’s amazing! Well done Adam! 👏
Thanks so much!
Another awesome video! Great shark footage.
That's crazy I havent seen a mako get that aggressive down here in socal
He's angry cos he wants his meal back
Well done Adam! Great job! Great video thanks for posting

Thanks for the videos!! Enjoy their. 68 years old, very basic old ocean kayak 13 foot, try to get out 5 times a month at la jolla. Only been kayak fishing there 1 1/2 years.

How do you rig your mackerel ? I dont see any weight on your rig? Thnks in advance
That bait box was Florida made, making it mako proof,😂, nice fish! Gotta love a good drag ripper!
That little mako was perfect size to throw in the ice chest😂
haha that shark was dmn so cute haha. btw I love the sounds if they pulled ur line. music to my ears.
Really like your videos man , keep up the good work - Bay Area fisherman
Wow...good job bro! Lucky that was a baby mako or the whole bonito and your bait bucket would be gone! Nice yellowtail...but being on a yak off California with a fish hanging over and all that blood could spell disaster if there is a big tax man lurking around...you are brave!
What kind of fish finder do you have? I'm trying to purchase one that's fairly decent. Thanks

Good Catch Bro. Congrats. Great Video
Hi Adam, What is the brand name of that floating livewell (bait box)? Thanks.
I initially thought that was a white sea bass. Nice work!
This is so awesome! I’ve been fishing fishing LJ from a yak for the past 3 years and still have yet to catch a yellow. So stoked for you! 🎉👊🏽🤙🏽
Thanks! Stick with it, you'll get one!
That was awesome! What an inspiring video to start the day! Keep having fun!
Thanks so much! You too!
Incredible catch. What a trip! You’ll eat like a king.

Congrats man! Nice yellow! Hamaaachiiiiiii!!!!!
Nice yellowtail and congrats on landing your first.
So good of you to keep it even tho a shark tore it up. Respect

Hahaha that shark was awesome! And what a battle!!
Congrats on the first YT Adam! Good rule on a flyline is to let the yt take the bait for 7-10 seconds in freespool, then just put it in gear.
great yellowtail. that shark was pretty cool. I've never had it myself, but Mako is suppose to be good eating. they target them here on the east coast.

Sweet! Now come back for the big homeguards!
what kind of fishing rods are you using??
Siiiick bro hahah loved watching this you’re a savage
Wow! that was excellent!
That's a nice grade yellow 🤙🤙. This might make Adam move to socal 🤣🤣🤣
little mako so cute. Nice catches
You're lucky that it was a little mako. If his daddy had come along and gotten a whiff of fish guts near your kayak, you'd be in trouble.
Is your radio waterproof? Carry an epirb?
Yuh
Nice fish on that yellowtail! You get them
Chucking lead?
Wow nice fish and gave you a good fight bro.
Awesome vid! Congrats!!!
Omg the little sharkie is so fiesty and cute
Good catch Bro! You should go to Los Buzos in Panama and do the kayak fishing experience and catch some Mahi or Rooster fish 😁👌
Happy fishing ✌️😎☕
Yellowtail and steelhead are the hardest fighting fish in California. Pound per pound, nothing comes close. Great job on that Yellowtail 👏 👍
No chum salmon in California?
