I use this bridge regularly for my commute & to get to CP, so it's a necessity. It gets a little bit hairy during rush hours weaving between ebikes/ escooters that sneak up behind & the puddles that form on the inside lane. But I love bombing down it at 25 mph on the T!
If you ever go to Denmark, you will be able to see how it should have been done, mixing bikes with the traffic in town or outside. We do have some double direction passes, but mostly we have one in each side of the roads, so no crossing of the other traffic., except when roads cross. I would have loved to join the tour though. Finn. Denmark
Have you ever considered putting a bar end mirror on your bikes while riding in the city? They are super low profile and foldable, you only need one on the left side. Yeah, I know they look super uncool lol
I have really bad vision so I don't think it would work well unless it was one of those helmet attached mirrors. I am always looking back before turning so maybe I will need something as I get older and my neck starts to hurt lol.
That bridge is waaaay too tight for bikes coming and going along with pedestrian traffic along with electric scooters mopeds and that hairpin turn at the end on the Manhattan side. Not ideal. Even tighter is the Manhattan bridge- Williamsburg bridge is good 👍 thanks I ride the Ed Koch bridge once a week
My friend knitted me a pair of ear-muffs made for my helmet…or helmuffs as they are sometimes called. They just fit over your helmet straps and keep your ears warm. They were so nice, I’m sad I lost them.
If you go ceramic, go full ceramic (balls and races), don't get the hybrid (ceramic balls with steel races), because the much harder ceramic balls will wear out the steel races fast (compared to all ceramic or all steel).
I have the Tiparts Japanese bearing BB on my superlight. I love it. If you go with the Token you may need to have your bottom bracket threads chased before you install it. From what I remember, the Token BB has a tighter tolerance than the Tiparts BB. I would ask the vendor before you buy it or the bike shop where you will have it installed. (I know the Phil Wood BB requires the BB threads to be chased first.) Good luck!
Your Ol’ Lady’s fearless!
Now you are making me want to sign up for the FBBT. It looks fun!
We had a great time besides the crash and flat. I hope we will be accident free this year!
I registered for the TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Won’t have my Brompton as I just recently got it. If I see you two I’ll say “hello”. Loving your videos!
That's would be great. Every ride we go on we run into other riders. I think the last four rides we were spotted riding lol.
I went to a Yayoi Kusama exhibit at the Hirshorn museum in DC. It was so cool!
👩🏻Nice! Her arts are so pop and fun.
59th Street Bridge? I hope you were "Feelin' Groovy"?

I can imagine all the bikes, scooters, people and mopeds during the summer must be crazy.

That sounds nice. I hope one day before I die the bike lanes will become safe.
hi! I've seen you driving at low speed in your videos.
Squeeze the rear brake and keep pedaling. You will feel super stability at low speed.

You do what you can when it's cold. I put my helmet on top of the hood of my windbreaker so my neck stays warm.

I just put on a balaclava if the riding temp is below 40F.
That is a good idea. I need to buy a larger helmet. My current one is pretty tight so I can't do that.
Hi, what model of glasses frame do you have?
Ombraz glasses! 👍🏼 The video is coming out soon!
Shu, did you change your bottom brackets to the Ti Parts ceramic ones? How does it feel? I’m torn between Token ceramic BB and Ti Parts ceramic BB.
If you go ceramic, go full ceramic (balls and races), don't get the hybrid (ceramic balls with steel races), because the much harder ceramic balls will wear out the steel races fast (compared to all ceramic or all steel).

@@FirstLast-jm4dx the ti parts has the ceramic ones and an enduro zero ceramic ones. Not sure the difference though
BFT..by law do you have to have a bell in New York..🤔
Yes we need a bell and reflectors. I have them but I prefer to yell when I need to get someone's attention. I yell at cars too!
@@BromptonFamilyTime I picked up a knog for my future Brompton,it sounds loud enough,if I need more noise I'll bike 🚲 with you 🥸
