Astonished at your raw courage to brave the most dangerous biking environment in the country; NYC: a master class in what's broken about American cities: CARS!! Big thanks for posting your videos that show how ROUGH a ride the bikes are, and how they squeeze thru tight spaces....YIKES!!
I know you have a lot of knowledge about Brompton bikes but your videos riding with your wife are the most pleasant to watch. You guys are calm and happy and show us all some great places to ride in the city. Watching the two of you now has me about 10 minutes away from leaving Brick N.J. to get my first Brompton at Brompton Junction on Bleeker st. If my wife complains about the purchase I'll have her e-mail you guys. Thanks again for your videos!
Thank you. It was hard buying the first one but I soon couldn't live without one. I have been on a bike almost everyday for the past three years now. It's my daily exercise that I enjoy. The Brompton Junction has a nice staff if you go. Take your wife and you can even rent them to try out.
GREAT VIDEO GUYS!!!! I love New York and all the different areas were you can ride your bike. Love your videos and seeing Manhattan’s areas were you can bike ride. Thank. You again see you guys soon.
👩🏻Thank you for the kind comments. We had planned to do this from long time ago but hadn't done. However your last comment made us do it! Thanks for the suggestion.
In my home, Denmark, you must buy a ticket for an ordinary bike on a train, but a Brompton isn't a "bike" but just a piece of luggage, so it's less expensive that way. I haven't taken it on an actual train though, as my wife is both handicapped, and can't ride a bike for fear of losing her balance.
I have been followed you since I bought Brompton few months ago. I live in Virginia and always love to go there cycling around the city one day and return next day. But I need some local tips to make sure I got the most out of my trip. Even better if I can join you guys too 🤭
It's a great place to ride but please be careful. Depending on the time you ride you will need to watch out for other cyclists/scooters/ebikes. It's getting colder now so you will see a lot less riders which is nice.
I have just followed a film about an ordinary bike ride to work in Copenhagen, which shows how much better it is to ride a bike in Copenhagen Center (Denmark)! We have special, and separate passes in both sides of major roads, and Traffic Lights for bikes in the crossings. And even special bridges for walkers and bikes crossing major roads or our Harbor! Finn. Denmark
Why do you want an app? I use Garmin watch for after ride statistics. I don't use gps to get around. Also since my allergy is sulphites i have to choose supplements wisely. The Honey Stinger jujube like product is my go to in various flavors. Nice video today
Yes I have the Ti parts BB with Japanese bearings. Its super smooth and I am very happy with it's performance. I would like to try the ceramic gearing version next, but this one should last a very long time.
Hi - love the videos and content, thanks! I use several apps for mapping and recording my rides, but I think my favourite is the somewhat unconventional Beeline. I have a beeline which I can use on the handlebars or frame and keep my phone in a pocket or bag, but sometimes I just plot a route on the app and follow it on the phone on the Brompton quad lock mount. Not over scientific but it’s a lot of fun and great for exploring as it gives you general direction and you just follow your nose! Anyway, thanks again 😁
I love the grip. I rarely slip. I think it is due to the tire material. The suspension is okay. But it is only a 1.25" compared to most tires that are 1.35" to 1.5" so you will notice a difference especially on rough roads. I recommend the Tannus tires only if you get a.lot of flat tires. I would not be able to commite to work without them. On the weekends I plan on switching to air tires since they are faster and I need to keep up with the T-Line.
🗼You ever been to Tokyo? Take the length of Manhattan & use it as a diameter of a circle. But I'm just talking all the hot spots because Tokyo extends beyond that circle. It is just one mega-metropolis from Tokyo to Yokohama which is to the south. Tokyo is the biggest city in the world. More restaurants, more bars, more clubs, more toys, more coffee shops & desserts, more trains, much more high tech than America. I was there for 2 mo in 2020 (9 months in Japan). There are days when you cannot hear a single car horn honk in *TOKYO* . The Japanese are super polite. No burn out tire tracks, no tire donuts, nobody running red lights. And safe. 1. The Japanese drive a lot of cars that do not pass US crash test standards, but the Japanese suffer less than 1/3 traffic fatalities than we do. What does that tell you? 2. 5:33 The Japanese always stop and look at sidewalks for pedestrians and bicyclists. Every time they wave me on, even though I'm at a complete stop. I bow; they bow. 3. They have more stringent car maintenance standards and their mechanics do things at a higher level of quality, so their roads and parking lots have a much less pronounced oil slick in any lane. 4. Americans drive a lot faster and run more red lights, but the Japanese worker is more productive than Americans. So why are Americans in such a rush? To go to work to goof off? What I'd give to NY is archtecture, MOMA which is a treasure house, Broadway & the MET which I can't afford. I'd give up my US passport in a heartbeat if the Japanese would take me. P.S. I'm from Hawaii and I'd like my HAWAII passport, please.
🧑🏼🦲It is a heavy bike that can do it all. If you don't need the gears I would choose the three speed. Please check out 2bikes4adventure's youtube channel for the gearing ratio and you can see the gear ranges. I rarely used all the six gears and found the three speed good for most riding. The handle type is also important. Please test ride them.
Sir , please provide your email address or any twitter so that I can sent your some photo of my Brompton rear tire . Unable to find your email address at subscription , many thanks

It takes a lot of awareness to keep an eye out for cars, potholes and other obstacles. It can get tiring.
The shoreline on the island was very pretty and the ruins of the hospital somewhat moody and atmospheric.
Nice tour again! Thank you!

It’s great that Mrs is also giving charming commentary
Very nice ride! Thanks for the trip✌🏻
*easy to use and very well*

🧑🏼🦲 The city keeps improving the bike lanes and it is fun to ride around the entire city.
Another great video 🍻

Join the Brompton NY Group on the MEETUP app and maybe you will come when they have a group ride. They are all friendly people.

🧑🏼🦲 I am using Google Maps but thought it would be nice to have an app that records my trips.
For recording, Strava. For mapping routes, Ride with GPS.
🧑🏼🦲Thanks. I'll check it out 👍🏼
Hi, i've been following your videos, keep them coming. My I ask are you using Ti parts bottom bracket on the blue Brompton ? If yes, is it good ?
Yes I have the Ti parts BB with Japanese bearings. Its super smooth and I am very happy with it's performance. I would like to try the ceramic gearing version next, but this one should last a very long time.

I sometimes use a Beeline too. Good for quick and clear guidance. Just wish it had an auto power off feature.
🧑🏼🦲 Thank you. I will take a look at it! 👍🏼
Loved it,thanks for taking us along. How was the suspension?
🧑🏼🦲Overall a smooth ride. The Schwalbe One tires seem to work well too
@@BromptonFamilyTime Good to know, thanks once again.
If I wasn’t a Londoner I would be a New Yorker.
I want to ride around London and visit the new Brompton factory once it is built.

i have 3 question...Whats the size of ur chainring and Brand? What kind of Handle bar are u using? many Thanks!
🧑🏼🦲H&H CHAIN DOUBLE CHAIN RING 54T/33T AND A TIPARTSWORKSHOP HANDLEBAR 2 DEGREE
Would this bike fit me? I'm 4"10.
The seat post moves up and down but you may have a problem with the reach of the handlebar. You should test ride one.
