There is something really whimsical about the vocal melody and ambient soundscapes. It reminds me of the way I used to see the world. A big mystery full of wonder and possibility. As we age the magic seems to dissapear altogether but songs like this are a beautiful yet painful reminder of a perspective of blissful innocence.

It sounds like an obscure track from a 1960s psychadelic band. Especially with the little flourishes between the verses in the intro. It has a very "old" vibe and would probably sound better with the crackle of a dirty vinyl 45 added.

It's odd, obscure, melodic, but all around AWESOME. it's also highly addicting, and it only gets more addicting the more you listen to it. I woke up this morning, and THIS song was in my head. I've tried to find another song that hit me the way this did. Late night, got some bad news and told a friend, he sent me this song and told me it makes him feel good. I threw on some head phones and listened. My chest hurt with joy, I felt adrenaline rush threw me and I wanted to sink into my bed and punch a hole in a wall at the same time. I wanted to cry but I didnt know why. Even now when I listen I feel a little tingle, but never will I ever feel the way I did that night. Thank you grizzly bear.

What an incredible song. A song made for those who really appreciate music. So many little unusual things that make it such a joy to listen to. I love that the structure of the song is just unordinary enough to keep you on your toes. No repetitive verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus structure all too common in the radio top 40. I love that the bass is driving the melody for much of the song.

I'm gonna take a stab at this
    Sure you will be alright
Make a decision with a kiss
    Baby I have false spite
And when I trek alone back home
I make sure that I trek in the snow
    Would it fall?
Tissue and bones, it was a trick
    This isn't a gunfight
    Checking it off my list
    Unable to rewrite
Five years cast once and far alone
Hope I'm ready, able to make my own
    Goodbye
They go, we go, I want you to know what I did, I did
They go, we go, I want you to know what I did, I did
They go, we go, I want you to know what I did, I did
They go, we go, I want you to know what I did, I did

When I was younger, like probably 11 years old, I was obsessed with stop motion animation. I found this video and it scared the crap out of me. Today, I'm listening to Spotify and this song comes on. I think, "I should look up this song's music video!" I open UA-cam, search this bad boy up and low and behold, my childhood trauma. Even so, now I see this in a different light. It's a great song and a great, trippy, music video!

well it depends on how you're counting the 4/4. It does switch to 6/8 but the quarter note feels the same, and 6/8 is counting 8th notes. So either it switches to 6/4 or it switches to 6/8 and the tempo marking is cut in half.

    • @louis2477

True, I think I would still use 6/8 if I was to right a chart since it would be easier to read and more common

Grizzly bear, love you with all my heart. All the time. But for what it is worth I'm on coming down but still on mild acid, watching this video for the first time and wow this means a lot to me. Introvert solo-trippin on introspection. Weird element to all this. But going to watch this vid again and again. The visual and motion aesthetic is so soul gripping. It's all really soul chilling but so comforting. The faces. It all speaks to me. Like, the little creatures, especially.. and the faces, and the chaotic mismatched aggriptus, caught in the vague indistinguishable throwes, all with the, needless to say, beautiful music that I can't even describe, how much I love grizzly bears music in general. Mm.
