Oh my god. It's gorgeous. I wouldn't mind if all of Aston's future cars were just different kinds of Valkyrie's.
I love the Valhalla so much as well. Probably the car to get if you have 800k to spare
They pretty much follow that design language and philosophy a lot. Just look at the valhalla or even their lower end models like the future vanquish, which is pretty much a toned down version of this.
Before starting the video, things that I already know
- The camera doesnt do justice for the sculpture of this car;
- The camera cannot show how this Valkyrie paint pops in real life.

The hinged glass roof panels reminded me of the BMW Nazca M12 & C2.
Amazing design. Credit to the team at Aston. That is a gorgeous thing. Perhaps one of the most gorgeous cars ever seen.
I hope they include a pair of F1 grade earplugs and radio earphones so that the passengers can talk to each other while the V12 screams behind them.

Really Like that Paint Color, it really stands out & isn't a color/paint code that every other super & hyper car have been mass produced in! Truely stunning they did an amazing job designing & finishing that machine!

I’ve never watched on of James’s vids with headphones before. Wow the directional audio is giving me headaches lol.
I almost always use headphones and this is not the norm in my experience.
I feel like the directional audio is reversed, I just switch my headphones the other way round and it sounds right, I think they flipped the audio accidentally .. rookie mistake

Everything about this car is amazing. It truly is a head of its time. Years ago I questioned why Aston Martin was going in this direction. Since it’s market has always been designing Grand Touring automotive pieces of art. Not cars such as the Vulcan and Valkyrie. I have never been so glad to be wrong in my life.

It does make sense. Lopping the roof off a car that's been HUGELY expensive to develop, in order to rack in at least some more of the cost, makes perfect sense.
Aston should have sold 500 of them. They would have made billions.

I do kinda wish they would have extended the gull wing section that lifts out down to the side windows too. Can you imagine how this thing would look and feel with no side glass
Cool but would have looked much better with retractable windows. I guess shape of the doors & curvatures are too complex so they have to be fixed.

There's nowhere to retract the windows into. That space seems full but is occupied by the radiator intakes. Besides, it would undermine the entire philosophy of the car, which is simplicity and lightness.
@@acruzp Too complex as I mentioned & those air channels definitely might be present on the sides. Since the standard Valkyrie is understandably quite claustrophobic, it would have been a nice change to remove the roof & have only the front windscreen. Aerodynamically having the screen wrap around the sides is better, but imo the appeal as a roadster is kinda lost if you are still going to have polycarbonate panels inches from your face.
If lightness was the driving philosophy, it makes little sense for Aston to be saving weight by removing powered/manual windows only to go chop the top off & create a roadster. Even if it's carbon, the entire tub will need to be strengthened which makes a far greater contribution towards overall increase in weight. And on a car like the Valkyrie which is supposed to be all about aero efficiency, the decision is even more confusing as the over body aerodynamics at the rear are now no longer the same.

So excited to see the car set some lap records and Battle with the AMG One for ultimate dominance around the world's tracks.
The AMG One will be extremely fast no doubt ... However, the Valkyrie will destroy it on the track. It won't even be close. The Valkyrie is significantly lighter and the downforce and aero are on a completely different level than the AMG One and from any road legal car ever.
@@aaronneal3873 the torque and AWD through the corners will make it depend on the track since the AMG One has 4 electricmotors and all that instant power. A F1 style track the Valkarie will be faster. However on a technical track like VIR and such the AMG will be faster.

Door system... Idk. Id call it a window system. Opening the "door" is basically akin to rolling down a window, while at the same time making the window go over your head. Very cool

@@papa_pt This Cozzuh is a beautiful thing, but even with all its greatness, you wont have the experience you think you would with an open roof. The wind will drown out the note. This isn't something you go cruising along the beach with. It is literally built with LeMans in mind. The Valhalla would be more suited for the spider treatment.
This Spider definitely looks tastier than the coupe. What happened to the central, single windscreen wiper from the coupe? Is it redesigned, removable or missing?
They could make a few units of the Valkyrie as a speedster to get a more f1 feel
Amazing machine. The ev part actually is minor (extra 160hp) though provides F1 like KERS function, and car meets European emission standards without any gpf!
If you thought it was loud with a roof, imagine how loud it will be without one…my ears are ringing just thinking about it. I don’t think people will be driving far in these. The aesthetics are something else though!

Me: LOL. I just spent 15 mins going through the intro footage almost frame by frame - twice! It was as if my senses couldn't take in the sheer beauty of what I was seeing.

If a 6'6" tall person can fit in this car with the roof on then I have to say if I could have any production vehicle Im pretty sure this would be it. Its just so different and rediculous compared to any other car out there and it truly does look like an F1 car that has some amazing body panels formed around it. Simply amazing. I just wish more of the Exotic, super and hyper cars were built so tall people like myself can fit comfortably. Not every car guy is 6' or less.... There have been many cars over the years that I was prepared to purchase but couldnt because I didnt fit. Back in the mid 90's after high school I wanted one of the new Japanese rigs, RX7, 300ZX, 3000GT VR4, Supra, NSX etc. The RX7 was impossible, the 300ZX, NSX and 3000GT VR4 were doable, but couldnt wear a helmet for track days. I ended up going with the Supra, a red 6sp targa, as not only was it my favorite of the bunch, but they are straight up roomy and super comfortable for me considering its a4 seat sports car. Plus with about 3 grand of bolt ons at the time, everything available without changing anything in the motor or drivetrain, clutch included, it was untouchable in speed especially on the freeway. 40 to 150 mph was amazing. In the mid 90's 450rwhp was a lot and that car always seems to perform better than the numbers suggest it should. The same reasons i bought that car is why I bought my 2008 Z06 Corvette 10 years ago. Comfortable, and at the time even stock there were no cars under 200k that could drive away, even when it was stock for the first couple weeks. After the full exhaust, intake, cam and tune with over 600rwhp and only a bit over 3000 pounds it was completely bonkers. Faster than pretty much any production car at the time.
Pretty sure you would fit in a 720S.

Nothing changed aerodynamically? I've seen Valkyrie in person, and it didn't had the 2021 F1 car inspired side floor which now features "Sticky Uppy Bits" (Copyright Sam Collins 😀), bargeboard has a different deflection in the lower part, and the front wing is now pure 2016-era RBR... and it looks amazing 👏.

So what do we think if we all ha the cash and you had to choose one or the other which would it be? For me I would prefer the coupe as at the speeds predicted I think I would feel a bit vulnerable with no roof on and then the temptation would be to put a lid on.

Anyone got a feeling that the amount of time this car has been coming out it’s going to look a bit silly when Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren quietly make their new flagship cars and completely kill the hype on this?
No lie, I think the Valkyrie looks amazing and I’m sure it will blow our socks off, but 5 years of knowing it’s coming, I’m kinda bored of it now.

blow the socks off in terms of performance yes.. probably already done with all the hybrid tech. None of them will have this motor which is the centerpiece of the car
I really don't think that anything Ferrari, Porsche, or McLaren make in the coming years will even come close to touching this. The aero work is just on such a different level, particularly with the ground effects. In a previous JWW video, an Aston representative said this would match LMP2 performance, on street tires no less. Visually, it gets subjective, but I think this is the best example of leaning so hard into function > form that it becomes beautiful in how well-engineered that function is.
