The best thing that has happened to my local lakes is the 5 and 10 panfish limits the DNR switched to. One local lake was getting hammered hard, sizes were dropping and trophy fish have pretty much disappeared in the last 10yrs. Nine inches was about the best that could be found for a healthy bluegill. In the last two years there has been many guys still over fishing the limit out of anger and feeling rebellious. However many of us locally that really care feel like we are seeing the potential for improvement building. One because more people are not filling buckets anymore, two because more people have learned about selective harvest, and three a lot of the bucket fillers have stopped hammering our lakes and driving away.
@@troylindner there definitely needs to be more fishing. What happened to you guys? You guys used to be all about fishing and now it's literally 4 min of fishing and tips and the rest is product spotlights and commercials.
@@troylindner I understand it's a tv show, and I've spent over 20 years learning about fishing from your family so I really don't mean to knock it. I understand it's a business, just disappointing how short these videos are on information.
@troylindner are you getting gov grants from dnr? I'm a man with a family of 7. 5 gills do nothing to feed us. Promoting this strict regulation is a shame. Guess I'll look elsewhere for product.

Maybe dnr could use some of their money we give them and take better care of the lake your talking about. Maybe a stocking program yearly?
@Paul Major stocking is a bandaid for overfishing.
guessing you live in MN with those limts. Im glad they did it. People are to dang greedy catching hundreds off beds every spring in every lake.
I wish there was less commercials and more fishing, tips and tactics. Seems like there's more add's then fishing now.
