I loved this! I’ve been trying to find the product list. Is it possible to request them? Silicone especially. Thanks! And Thanks for the great content! 😊
It might work a few times but it would probably degrade the mold fast, like you would only get a couple castings. If you wanna pour molten PLA I would try and learn casting using plaster mold making techniques
Oh my gosh it would be super cool to do for when I make my daughters Barbie houses. What is that blue stuff? Where do you buy it? I need the details if you’re willing to share that. I tried to see if there was a description and I didn’t see one.. sorry
Your videos are really helping me prepare to make my daughter‘s dollhouse. I know it’s completely different but I’m gonna utilize a lot of the stuff that you’re teaching me for the process of doing that. I don’t want this to be any old, regular dollhouse and making a doll house that’s going to be called “grandma‘s house” for her grand Barbie and I’ve been putting a lot of thought and planning into this and I’m getting more and more excited. I just thought I would share that with you.!
Everything is unique and relative, if you plan the molding process well it should work but without seeing your model with my own eyes I can’t tell you definitively, but it should work, checkout Robert Tolone’s videos
Heck no, release spray can seep into parts and prevent paint from curing proper, I don’t use it and never need to when I mold things, unless you’re very familiar with what chemicals remove mold release residue well without that, but experts I know who has been doing this over 30 years just avoid it all Together
Technically I misused the term here, but it typically refers to strengthening rubber through a process of heating rubber with sulphur. I just meant that the rubber compounds reacted and hardened in this example
Two words… unecessary expense. In most cases on a non convex dump mold it’s a waste and wears your mold down faster as well as coats the object in an additional layer or material to be cleaned off. I have honestly NEVER needed it with all my molds in 7years.
@@OilersWorkshop not really. If it attaches to a harder shell like polyurethane for instance , and has some keys it won't. But by itself it doesn't have any stractural strength. Well at least this is how we were taught to use it in both the university of fine arts and the university of industrial design I attended . Anyway I'm just saying. And we also used plaster (there is more plaster hardnesses than just plaster of Paris) . I guess i hope I gave you some food for thought or some research material . Good luck
Glad you went to 2 art schools, I went to zero. Been learning as I go my whole life. My method works perfectly for me. What I show and what I said works. @@OilersWorkshop hm . I have thought about this. I definitely do care a lot to help other makers and lovers of crafts. As I am also helped by many of the community guys videos. No worries, I misspeak sometimes and I get insecure about it. Especially when I am aware I know what I’m doing but the words just didn’t come out right. Thanks for the comments
This is great! Thanks for the video
Yeah you’re welcome
Awesome!!!

Que resina usaste? Buen video
Smooth cast
Es poliuretano? Gracias
Name is: liquid plastic
@@OilersWorkshop thanks
Que material se usó como molde? y qué material se usó como contramolde Azul?
I say it in the video: XPS foam and silicone
Awsome video👍What is the brand of white resin please?
Smooth On
@ Thank you👍There are some different models in this product, Do you have any preference?
Sorry “smooth cast 300”
AWSOME!
Very nice. I could use this to duplicate full size architectural elements.
Yes you can
So cool!
Thanks
Great. Do you think I can use that technique to create a mold of a diecast truck box? I the box is irregular and I need to get a mold of the shape
You can, but I would reccomend a 2-part mold method for that with vent channels and a hole where you can inject the plastic instead of pour it
What kind of blue mixture? Please write the ingredients used
Smooth on D16
Awesome ❤
Thanks!
What about that tear on the apron?
? I don’t follow
What is the name of the material?
Which one

And the resin too please!
MOLD STAR 16 fast
What materials do I use for the blue dough
Smooth on 16d
Huh, what is the temperature threshold for the rubber?
As in could i put molten pla in it? Roughly 220 farenheit.
It might work a few times but it would probably degrade the mold fast, like you would only get a couple castings. If you wanna pour molten PLA I would try and learn casting using plaster mold making techniques
What is The foam thing you used for barrier? (The edges)
XPS foam, cut to size
Can you make a bike tire tube as well
Don’t know what you mean by that
@@ddrusa i think to make an inner tube you would need specific rubber and a valve plus making it hollow which would be a faff. Id stick to buying them

Also, do you have a certain brand that you use on the fast curing resin? A lot pops up on google

Oh by the way, the author of this video is using "Moldstar 16 Fast" for the mold
Is that foam just regular insulation foam?
XPS foamular
@@OilersWorkshop thanks!
Where does one get the thin pink foam from
Home Depot insulation aisle
What did you use that turns white like that? Great video btw.
Thank you, it’s called Smooth Cast D300
@ , thank you for answering my question, I’ve never seen it before. Is it like plastic? I’ll check it out. 😎👍🏼
❤
Does this work with very small detailed molds? Just wondering because when you pulled it out some of the rubber was stuck in the mold.
Everything is unique and relative, if you plan the molding process well it should work but without seeing your model with my own eyes I can’t tell you definitively, but it should work, checkout Robert Tolone’s videos
Styrofoam with silicone rubber are save ?
Totally
No release spray needed?

oh no kidding? Good to know thanks buddy
Do you do any commission work?
I try and avoid it these days
Im sorry for my ignorance! But there is clear or transparent rubber to make molds?
Yes absolutely
@@OilersWorkshop thank you so much
Ooo, what’s the pink material called?
XPS/EPS FOAM
@@OilersWorkshop, I learn several things with this video, thanks for answering people’s questions. 👍🏼
Heat cure silicons after they hardened at 60°C make it wear way longer.
Ok
@OilersWorkshop it is from actual research. Prooved fact.
Cool
What is this blue color
Mold star 16fast
What does vulcanized mean?
Technically I misused the term here, but it typically refers to strengthening rubber through a process of heating rubber with sulphur.

Perdona,y este video de que va realmente. No entiendo que deseas mostrar.
Nice but it isn’t vulcanized until you boil it in water. Or so I’ve been told.
Idk why I would want to Vulcanize my mold?
KEMIKL JOASI MOL MATE
two words... mold release

Not a vulcanized rubber. And the way you did it , maybe it uses too much rubber, dont you think?
It’s silicone, and if it’s thinner it’s more likely to deform
