Great video and review! Did you dive with the vacuum system attached to your housing the whole time, and what was the deepest you took your seafrogs kit?

@@LoganBrownMedia they dont want to taket responsibility for a potential leak pretty much. But i used it and was happy.

Many Thanks Kristoffer, but i cant understand why the fuck the manufacturer says that its not safe to dive with the pump system if you did it 42 times, thats weird. Anyway, thank you very much!

    Hi , great explanation.
I have 2 question. I am also using 6xxxx housing saltedline with sony alpha 6300 and newly bought 90 mm macro lens.
1-saltedline still have no proper port with manuel focus gear.
2-Which optic do you use for strobe? ı am planning to buy 2* ikelite ds 230 or sealife ys-d3 mk2 or inon z330?
Can I without any issue use one of them?

Its ashame you cannot use manual focus for the 90mm. Such expensive and accurate lens beeing treated liks some point to shoot cheap gear. I use 2x sea and sea ys d01 strobes. as long as you have fiber-optic cables no problem

Thank you. I’m wrestling with a GoPro 7 or this housing for my used A6000/A6500 for video for almost the same cost.

Just received the basic body from Amazon and testing it in the tub right now, due to rain but I have to say it feels pretty solid. If my old A6000/kit lens survives a couple of weeks with no leaks, I will pick up the vacuum pump and maybe the macro port, so that I can use a 67mm thread and a red (IR Fader) filter for diving. For now, I am just excited to play around at my local beach and mangroves in south Florida. Some freediving in the Palm Beach or the Keys. Thank you for the channel and your reviews. I'm dying to play and develop my video techniques for my trip next year.
PS> I assigned my C1 button as a manual/AF toggle, so the kit lens can be focused manually via the zoom ring. I realize it's not true macro, but the kits minimum focus length is ~10" (75 mm) minus the port length (~4-5") which isn't horrible for a starter rig for coral, invertebrates, or less shy fish.

@@isaacsnowhite104 Great too hear. Awesome man! Kitlens doesnt have to be bad. I got some sick stuff with kitlens+diopter. Keep it up. I get really jelous just hearing u live near those places! Enjoy :)

Hi, i came across your video because i was looking for an answer to either dive or not with the VPS-100, (when i received this thing i was confused that it was "just" for a pre-check...)
How about the battery lifetime if you dive with it? I will be using it for 4-5 hours freediving session, do you think i'll have to change the battery too often?
    Thanks for your review ;-)

how do you manage the buoyancy of the housing especially when you're using a dome? I'm currently using an 8 inches dome and it's very very buoyant.

    • @kristofferbjornberg8075

The arms and the tray are heavy. Also camera + lens and the stribes. I am so heavy that i need floater arms to balancr it out. Sound lika u need to är more weights!

@@kristofferbjornberg8075 Thanks for the answer. I'm planning to add 3 lbs of weights on the port. it's so buoyant that whenever I dive, it's like dragging a buoy underwater :D

@@MishaelTan but this is because u have a 8inch done and not a 6 inch dome i guess? Its still that bouyant with strobes and arms attatched? I had positive bouyancy-problem once. Try to attatch the weight under the tray as much in the middle (balanced) as you can. I used cable-strapps and one of those weights you use in the weightbelt. Tell me when u have tried something out and whats work for you! When shooting video-macro i find it important the whole rigg is heavy. Otherwise hard to keep it steady.

How many dives do you have on it now, i can not find a long term review. Will it still be good is you gonne use it for 9 months almost every day?

    • @kristofferbjornberg8075

I just got back before Corona travel lockdown after 1 month in indonesia. Did another 63 dives + with it. Worked ok. Had to repair a button in the housing. Apprature buttonweel stopped working. Not enough friction to move the weel. superglue + some thin rubber to make it work again.
9 month diving every day really is a hard question. Tbh i dont think the buttons are good enough. But if u are a bit handy, bring spare parts yes it could Work if u are ready to repair and make quick fixes. How much is the FA6500 these Days? Where are u going for 9 month btw? Cheers 😊

Sorry, but nothing special in this terribly boring presentation.
