To be fair, Sandlot is more about boyhood, and growing up, but Sandlot is my favorite movie in the sports arena, in my top 10 pf all time, and one the best American movies ever made. Fight me, if you want
It’s so awesome to see Ben just literally relaxing and being one of the guys. I guarantee this was his favorite interview in ages to just hangout and not talk politics.

Mine would have been Miracle. I remember as a little boy watching that game and how important it was for this country. Those boys gave and left everything they had out on that ice. It truly was a Miracle.
I would have added the Rookie to the list, really great Baseball movie and a real tear jerker seeing a middleaged man being able to once again chase his dreams after he was forced to step away from the game due to injury and responsablity.
Miracle wins this bracket for me. My favorite movie ever, but the Friday Night Lights run I’m all about as someone who grew up around and loves Texas high school football!
@@jimswanson9885 absolutely! Plus, it's not only a great sports movie, it's critically a great film in and of itself. I feel like Moneyball, Remember the Titans, and Happy Gilmore all deserve to be in a top 10 at minimum.

Oh yes. A TV movie that was so incredibly well received that it actually then got a theater release. No matter how many times I see it, I always cry. “I love Brian Piccolo, & I’m asking you to love him tonight too” ugh. Just rips your heart out. Rudy is my favorite simply because I was raised as a Catholic and Notre Dame was the ONLY college football team. And I'm so old they were still legitimately called the Fighting Irish back then, which meant they were a really good team with a great battle song. There were a lot of good movies to choose from though, and I loved Hoosiers too. A lot of these I never saw.
@@williamwagoner7857 As to the Notre Dame students and players being heavily of Irish descent, that was many moons ago. Even when I was young (and I'm 72) there were very few Irish playing Notre Dame football. The school saw the worth of very large Nordic guys and sought their services. Now the team is majority African American. But of course their identity remains. After all, it didn't come from the football field at all, but from a brawl. It's claimed that the students disrupted and destroyed a meeting of the KKK in the 1920s when that group was just as vicious to Catholics as to Blacks. It's a good story, but I heard many years ago that it was simply a random brawl. On the other hand, if Lou Holtz said it, who am I to disagree? Notre Dame was a Catholic University. Friday Night Lights should have lost to Remember the Titans! Tim McGraw's acting can't hold a candle to Denzel! And when you add the Motown element to football it simply can't be beat!
Tim McGraw's character was not even a main character of the movie. Denzel was the main character. So that's a bad comparison. Now Billy Bob was excellent in FNL. As good as Denzel in Remember the Titans, IMHO. Both fantastic movies!
We owned Billly Bob's truck from Friday Night Lights for a little bit. Thing came with no seat belts and gas tanks on both sides. Was a monster to drive.
Major League losing to Angels in the Outfield was a travesty! Hoosiers losing to Friday Night Lights??? Are you kidding me? Field of Dreams is the best sports movie of all time! you guys are wrong!!!!!

Vince Vaughn was one of the backup RB not QB in Rudy. The TD that he threw in the movie was off a HB toss. Just thought I'd point that out. If someone doesn't believe me just go back and watch all the scenes with Vince
Field of Dreams maybe in the top five greatest movies of all times. In our world where there is an epidemic of loneliness this movie shows the sanctity of the one on one relationship is critical, especially father and son. There are times when tears well up and we need to ask ourselves "Where did that come from?" It is gateway to our soul
