In this video I take a look at the second three videos from the Haiphong Harbour series and see what we can learn from them about planning a mission, setting up your jet and flying the mission.
Remember the A4 is a free module for DCS. You can find it here:
github.com/hec...
If you want a great tutorial on dive-bombing in the A4, check out this video

Mission files for the Haiphong Harbour series are available here:

very nicely explained *thumbsup*
Thank you! Cheers!
Sidekick, inspired by your videos I tried the install again, after cleaning up my entire pc. My maiden Skyhawk flight was great! Everything works in DCS 2.5.6..
Blue Skies!
I am so glad to hear that. Happy flying!... and bombing... and strafing... and landing. Let's not forget landing- lol
You mentioned you might do videos about how you design your missions in the mission editor. I don't know about most people but personally, I would love to see that. Advanced editor use is not necessarily covered well on the YT.
Excellent. Thanks for the feedback. I will put it in the queue.
Some neat tips in this video. I never thought about using the bottom of the gun site with it at 0 depression. But it makes sense since the lines are probably delineated in mils.
Yup. They are in mils. I'll be honest. I tried to fly that mission with the sight set to -160mils and it made the low level approach over the ridge A LOT harder. Trying to fly down hill at a constant altitude was a bit of challenge. It was a lot easier with an easier horizon cue.
hello, I would like to know how to use the radar, because I am having a hard time understanding it, to carry out bombing missions, and I would like to learn how to use it!
There are a couple examples of using it in these videos. So far, I have only really found it useful as a navigation aid, rather than as to actually bomb with. It seems that it would mostly be useful in low light situations. There is an A/G mode but I have not taken the time to learn how it works. Let me do that. Assuming it is actually implemented, I will see i can work it into a video.
Excellent Vid, thanks !!! How can I download this missions? thanks
Thank you for the comment and the interest.
I am working through releasing the mission files. So far, missions 1 and 2 are available here:
www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311399/
www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311637/
Note that these aren't the missions mentioned in this video. Once I have those ones cleaned up I will release them and put the links in the description here. I'll also probably make a quick announcement video so if you are subscribed you should get the notification.
@@Sidekick65 yes do an anuncement!! I Will download right now this missions !!! Is There any vídeo how to play this missions? Regards and thanks from Argentina !
ua-cam.com/video/tWgcTWsv8_0/v-deo.html should help. Let us know how you do.

Hello " all ready flight your episode 1,2 and 3 any new release? thanks
Mission 4 released today. I think you already found it ;-)
@@Sidekick65 yes I did! Thanks I Will fly it today!
Thanks again Sidekick. Could you show how to reliably get the altitude hold to engage and stay engaged?
Ok. I'll work that in to a future video. For the record, I have it bound to a button on my throttle. But there are several bindings available. Let me check on what I use.
Thanks Sidekick! I really enjoy your videos and learn every time!
One problem I have is this: even when I download DCS 1.5 instead of 2.5, that I use primarily, I am unable to get the A4E show up as a flyable aircraft. I have downloaded this one: heclak.github.io/community-a4e-c/
And the Skyhawk is my all time favourite!! So my request is this: can you show me (us?) your DCS setup and which A4E version you are using and where to get this. Thanks again.

Help no longer required. For installation issues, that is..
Glad to hear it!
