    Thanks a lot. Perfect video as always. Where is this solenoid located in w212 e550 m278 engine? Are there 2 solenoids as there are 2 turbos. Scan says low pressure on turbo 1 which one is turbo 1? Driver side?

      Yes, you will have 2 solenoids because you have 2 turbos. You need to keep investigating where you are loosing boost but in your case you may have a loss in the pressure air lines and therefore you need to smoke all the lines and see where you are loosing pressure... Thanks

    Hello, i have similar problem with CLA 180. So when running sometimes doesn’t matter the gear but around 2.5 to 3.3 rpms it cuts the power. When there is no boost i checked and the waste gate valve remains open, when you force the car the stick doesn’t move. When turn off and start again the car the stick goes back and there is vacuum and its working normally, and forcing it the stick moves. We changed the solenoid, but the problem still remains. Could it be that actually the waste gate valve with the stick is not working, and it fails when it thinks that its too much pressure and remains open. I have a video, but i don’t know where can i send it to you, to you, maybe you will know the answer. When reading the car with the valve not working its showing P002291. In live diagnostics when makes this problem its doesn’t show any mistake ..

      You need to investigate your P002291 code because this code is for Low Injector Pressure. Possibly Low Rail Fuel Pressure... Thanks and Good Luck! 🤞💪👍

    Hello I have a 2014 s550 and the p0229 code came on and CEL, saying low pressure on turbo 1, I looked in the engine and saw some oil near turbo one. I’m no mechanic could have been old residue. Only code is p0229 nothing els.

    • @projectathos
      @projectathos  11 місяців тому +3

      The S550s have a completely different setup and they have a very common problem with The Timing Chain Covers leaking around the turbos. Please check my video in this/my Channel on this particular Oil Leak problem as I believe I have the Best and most comprehensive diagnostic and repair video on UA-cam so car on this issue. As far as the Boost code it will need to be checked by a Mechanic specializing in Mercedes so they can run a scanner to diagnose the issues on your vehicle. Sometimes you have to run Livadata to see what sensor is not working with what numbers they can see or you may simply have an Air leak. Thanks👍

      @@projectathoshello so I got the car checked by a professional, the coolant hose for the turbo was completely broken and he said it toasted the turbo, but he told me I might have to replace both… if only one turbo code came on is it possible the drivers side turbo is still good? And the oil leak was from the oil pan and gasket, he quoted me close to 7,000 and I’m still tripping Bevaise a whole engine goes for 7,000. Wondering what you think.

      You don't repair a wastegate my friend. You meed to replace the whole turbo because the waste gate is attached to it. Those are metal parts that get worn with time and cannot be repaired! You need to call a shop around and get an estimate... Thanks and Good Luck!

      You would need to smoke your intake pipes from the turbo to the air intake for possible leaks. If not that then you may have an issue with your wastegate and lastly it would be your turbo... Thanks and Good Luck! 🤞💪👍

      Yes, in my case it was the solenoid but it could be also be the Waste gate or the actual turbo itself. So you would need to get a proper diagnostic and check all the things in that network... Thanks and Good Luck!

    How do you replace the turbo boost pressure valve

    • @projectathos
      @projectathos  9 місяців тому

      If it's the vacuum driven valve on the outside that controls the metal rod to the wastegate then you can replace this one easy. Otherwise if it's the actual wastegate you may need to replace the whole turbo. Thanks 👍

      @@projectathos When starting cold, the solenoid does not have the strength to pull the wastegate, the vacuum pump has pressure (I don't know if it has enough). This is not right! Your mechanic needs to find out where you have a leak and why the solenoid is not working! You need to have vacuum the moment you start your car! Check for leaks also around the engine. I cannot diagnose your car if I don't see it sorry... Thanks! 🤞💪👍

    I have a 2017 Mercedes metris 2.0l same code, low power above 3000 RPM. Already changed the diverter valve that sits right next to the waist gate and I did not fix the problem what throws me off is if I turn the engine on and off it drives perfectly fine for about 20 minutes. Not sure if I should order a new wastegate.

    • @jglassman1122

      I should also mention when I put a vacuum tester on the end of the actuator rod assembly/ TS vacuum cell I’m only getting 8 inches of vacuum anymore and it just leaks out.

    • @projectathos
      @projectathos  9 місяців тому

      It doesn't seem like the wastegate. Possibly try to check the valve controlling the waste gate first. Also another problem could be the vacuum lines leaking air so you would need to check all of them around the engine. I have seen a similar problem like yours when one of the air guide pipes comes out of it's mounting place and creates a leak. These same pipes you may need to inspect for cracks also! What happens is the air coming from the turbo cannot reach under boost the throttle body side because the leak lets the air out of the pipes. So check all the basics first and then all of these that I just told you. You may end up needing to visit a professional mechanic to diagnose your problem properly my friend. Sometimes it ends up cheaper 😁

      @@projectathos thank you for the info when I put vacuum on the actuator rod that goes to the waist gate it does not stay open the rod actuates, but then immediately goes back inside even under vacuum because it’s only getting 8 inches. That’s why I was thinking that it’s that actuator rod that goes to the turbo. But I will definitely check all the plumbing. I believe we are talking about the same part I’m talking about the first thing that you hooked the vacuum tester to in your video. The part that has the rod that goes to the turbo.
