    I bought this wheel. I run it on nukeproof scout 290 hardtail. It feels absolutely amazing. I thought it would be too stiff but it isn't as that bad 👍🏻

      That’s awesome, glad your enjoying it. I was gonna post something else about it soon, because I’ve taken it on several trips and had blowout rock slashes mid ride on rocks and not even a dent.

      The funny thing you mention nukeproof , I brought the new nukeproof horizon v2 wheelset recentl , really happy with the wheels . Have since found out the hubs are the spank hex hubs with nukeproof branding on them . Same hubs .

      @@camwells9726 i had horizon wheels v1 last year. My hubs were brown and made by novatec. I send them back after few rides. Not very good wheels.
      I've heard good reviews about V2 and now a set of 29 boost cost £350 at chain reaction and I'm tempted to buy a set 👍🏻
      They look very nice and sound good. I'm glad you mentioned that nukeproof uses spank hubs. They look solid.
      PS - I no longer have nukeproof scout. I cracked the frame few weeks back and now I got Banshee paradox V3 frame with spank wheels 👍🏻

    Nice video !!! I have too spank hex very strong hub !!! After 670 km the factory grasses starts to be dirty ….if you ride in powder and at dry soil I would advice you to use lube/oil instead of grasse !!! I used too !!! Have a nice rides !!!

    When you engage your hub (like rachet back and forth to feel the engagement), does it make a loud *ka-kung* sound? A video of you on your bike ratcheting between backpedaling and engaged would be much appreciated. I really want this hub, however, I want to make sure it doesn't have noisy engagement (I love the angry bees sound though).

      There is not enough play to hear that clunk like on lower engagement hubs. But yes I know what your talking about. My 370 hubs would do that, I would go to pedal and I’d hear that clunk before it grabbed. I don’t get any clunking with these

    Have you had any issues with them coming out of true? Seems like most reviews state they need truing frequently. Also how do they feel weight wise? They are heftier but do they feel 'heavy' on trail?

    • @chimpwithabike5657
      @chimpwithabike5657  4 роки тому +1

      Can’t say that I have. Have got quite a bit of riding in, with plenty of rocky chunky areas and jumps. I don’t have a lot of experience with other “premium” wheels. But compared to stock wheels that are on my other bikes I feel these roll pretty fast and don’t notice the weight. For 300 or under with coupon you really can’t beat what you get.

    Good day sir. I would like to ask what kind of spank rear hub did you use. Coz im plqnning to change my rear hub and im using the 12 speed eagle cassette by sram. Is it the xd drive?

      Coz i have a roscoe 7. And have the bontrager rim 32 holes. And planning to change my rearhub. I change already the cassete a nx 12 speed casstte. If i will change my rear hub, does spank hex xd drive will fit? Thanks for the reply sir.

    • @chimpwithabike5657
      @chimpwithabike5657  4 роки тому

      They have the option for 32holes if you like. 32 is supposed to be a little stronger than 28. They also have the option for Shimano hub that will work with your NX cassette. You just have to see what size/spacing you have, Like Boost 148 or 150/157. I got the combo that was the Hub with wheel. It was a great choice in my opinion. I went from a 21 internal diameter to 30 and the combo just feels great. So unless you have good wheels already I would consider the wheel with the hub. Would save you time and money of getting the hub laced on your old wheels.

    Are they very stiff ? I'm riding hard tail and rather heavy rider, I weight 135kg
    I owe old 350 but I want high engagement hub.
    I'm worried about 359 being too stiff but as same time I'm tempted by 19mm rim and how reliable they are

      I don’t think I have ridden enough different wheels to really tell yet. I was in bentonville last week and
      I will say I hit a rock and slashed my tire and rolled in a rock garden for a bit before I noticed. The wheel had a scratch from the rock hit but there was no dents or bends. Wheel seems really strong. On the website it says it’s rated for downhill enduro 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m about 215 and it’s taken jumps, drops, and rocks

      Not saying they are better and don’t have enough time riding the others to compare, But I paid at the time 275 ‘ish with a coupon code. Even at the current 399 for a new 30mm wheel with high engagement hub. It’s a pretty good bang for your buck.
