One thing I wish was more normalized is people accepting the fact that not everyone with autism is open about it. I wasn't diognosed with autism until I was 19. Most of my family doesn't know, or doesn't believe me because of this stigma that "oh we would have known that when you were super young stop faking it"
I feel you on that; I wasn't diagnosed until I was around 15, in 1999. But, yeah, I totally got that, "No way you're autistic", crap, too. Still do, if it's someone who doesn't really know me well (obviously, I guess lol).
Ok so, I thought Autism was something that was like a personality trait. I thought this because my friend jokes a lot about her brother being autistic, having diabetes (even though he is super healthy), having anger issues, etc. Up until now I soon realize my friend's brother is not any of these things and I am now super mad at her for joking about this stuff. I never knew it was so serious and I'm proud people are showing who they are and expressing themselves instead of feeling like they are weak or something, these people are strong and beautiful and should be proud of who they are. I'm going to have a talk with my friend about her "jokes"...
Honestly, it may come from a place of frustration in your friend. I have two autistic brothers, and often they can be difficult due to the way their brain works. When I was younger and not as knowing especially, I would speak badly about them bc I just didn’t understand. Maybe your friend is taking out some frustrations with their sibling by making mean jokes. I hope you can help them understand that it isn’t okay.
@@juva_duva8119 Maybe it does but I'm not sure. She has sent videos of him having "Seizures" which is horrible. I don't know if having a "seizure" is actually true or if they are both being dumb but if he truly were to have a seizure why record it? I soon realize the way she treats her older brother is very rude.
Yeah when I was growing up with autism no one had heard of it so we were the "freaks" of the school. Now people have learned about it. And the first thing they did was make fun of it. Which is the usual response people have to things they don't understand. This is a wonderful comment though. You've kind of restored a bit of faith in humanity for me. Yeah same, but I dont know if I wamt to test for autism and add/adhd. I am an adult and never had any diagnosis or suspicion so I think I am just crazy. Then again, I did my work and was quiet and traumatized so teachers didnt have to bother with me..... Should just go for it and get a yes or no I guess.
@@gopolo147 to be fair, I was diagnosed with ADD at a young age. As well as anxiety. That's why it took me until recently, into adulthood, to consider that there might be more to the story. I also struggled really hard with the school system my entire life, for these reasons. A big indicator for me has been the inner workings of my mind. I had to mentally figure out how to operate in social situations, and how to mask behavior and tendencies, it wasn't something that came naturally to me. And I still slip in that regard. That's an indicator of more than just ADHD, but both are worthy of being considered.
@@aricatrall adhd stands for Attention Deficit (i think) Hyperactive Disorder, and add is Attention Deficit Disorder. the difference between the two is adhd is you can't focus AND you have weird tics, and ADD you just can't focus. if you don't do the tics, it might me add, but i'm no expert. i only know what my doctor psychiatrist therapist person said a year or two ago.
My therapist and psychiatrist both believe I'm autistic, but I haven't been able to be diagnosed yet because of how expensive it is Regardless, I'm here to relate if I am autistic, and to support if I'm not. Y'all are awesome, keep doing what you're doing
If you have insurance, make sure to check if they cover it. I got diagnosed a year or so ago, and I was broke because I was only working 20-30 hours a week for 9 bucks an hour. My insurance was able to cover it which meant two things: more support in the workplace and financial and emotional support while I got my business degree. As someone who is autistic, I'll be honest: I genuinely got worried when I saw that first TikTok, the blue puzzle piece jewellery really threw me off. Suffice to say the several TikToks after it quelled my worries a hell of a lot. @@f1cti0naI-fIynn My parents were the same way when I first brought it up. My brother has autism too, although he was retested a few years after therapy and, while he would always be autistic, it would never affect him too much. Me on the other hand, I was a lot different than him, so I'd get frustrated at a lot of things I shouldn't be, like being hugged. The way I got through to my parents was by making a list of all the symptoms with reasons and examples of me showing that behavior (try not to use anything too recent, because then it seems like you're just faking it), usually from a few years ago. Try and bring up specific events where you felt different. Maybe that'll help? Also, on a side note, some of the symptoms you listed can also be symptoms of OCD. Unfortunately, autism can look like a lot of things, and the only differing factor is usually when it's paired with one or two other symptoms. The thing about liking things to match, for instance, is typically found in people with OCD, and the other symptoms you have could be stemming from that. You could even have both, and I'm not saying you definitely don't have autism, but if your parents agree to get you tested, make sure it's a full screening and not just for autism. That way you could knock two birds with one stone.
@@tylersmith8457 Yeah but the psych thinks there is nothing wrong with me and it’s just because of the pandemic which is stupid like I’ve always been like that

Could there possibly be a trigger warning for autism torture please? ABA is known to traumatise autistics and employs techniques that are classified as torture by the FDA, all it does is makes the individual more palatable for allists It's at 6:40
@@theroadtocosplayandcomicco5840 not sure if it does count, I'll bring that up with an autism group I'm a part of! ABA stands for Applied Behavioural Analysis In short, it "trains" autistic individuals to conform to allist (non autistic) social norms in a similar way to how one trains a dog - normally by withholding, comfort items, food and water, and with absolutely no consent on the individuals part It is seen as a "cure" even though it impliments techniques that are legally stated as torture (see: withhold of basic needs) and is often the only insurance funded "therapy" option for children Unfortunately, most parents are unaware that they're subjecting their child(s) to a lifetime of PTSD, and autism suppression, which can lead to burnout ABA is based off of the same techniques as gay conversion therapy, and the fact that there isn't as much uproar about some of our most vulnerable citizens being forced into conformity is abhorrent Hope this answers your question, and thank you for asking so politely (I'll find out about social skills classes for you)
@@Equal_inDeath except for when they wrote stuff like "always reward good behavior" that's already bad enough I personally saw more hints to ABA than just that it definitely can and would be traumatic to someone who went through it and having to relive a trauma is considered torture in my books

I was diagnosed with "high-functioning" autism as a kid. Yes, as a sophomore, it still affects me. That term, is outdated, and i hate when anyone brings it up because all of it is wrong. You can't just put a kid on a scale and sad, "good" or "bad". Autism affects all of those that have it differently. We are not broken, fixable, or tools for pity. We are people trying to live our lives, just like you. I'm thankful one tik-toker spoke about this.

Me and my Mum are being diagnosed with autism, we only found out that there was a chance that we were after I was diagnosed with anxiety. We were at the hospital, nodding along, answering the questions, and the doctor told us that there was a chance that we were autistic based of off our answers, and we told him 'this is normal' this was how we lived our lives, he told us it wasn't normal. A few days later, I told my 'friend' that I was being diagnosed, she put her hand over her heart and said with the most pitiful voice, "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were *special* " ... We are no longer friends.
13:42 "AH AH AH! get ur shirt out of ur mouth! thats why we have chewies." that unlocked my forgotten memory of me chewing my shirt in elementary, my god...
I never knew these "chewlery" stuff existed, since I was little I always would chew on plastic and other things of a similar texture. Though I've gotten much better at resisting, I still end up chewing plastic straws until they're unusable. I never knew this was an Autistic thing, I always thought it was just a bad habit like chewing on fingernails. I'm gonna bring this up with my mom and see if she'll buy one for me. She might say no for a few reasons, one being that I might get braces soon, another being that she wants to see if I can "grow out of the habit" (she and I both know that if I can avoid doing something for long enough I just won't do it anymore) first. If she does say no, I have just a few years until I'm 18 so I'm always willing to wait :)
I dont have autism (At least I have not been diagnosed because doodoo parents, I really want to get checked tho), but chewing a lot of gum rlly helps! Its definitely not the same vibe but it stops me from chewing things that can be harmful since I dint have chewlery
I'm wondering if I should get chewlery, as a kid I used to chew and mouth at EVERYTHING but I stopped when I got older to mask better, but I'm also kind of averse to it bc putting stuff that's just been in the open air in my mouth is kinda gross and I'm VERY sensitive to jewelry cords around my neck
It’s so nice to see this as I also have Autism, ADHD, and OCD, and most of the time when I find some TikToks about those disorders they get banned by TikTok almost immediately, so it’s nice to see they are on a more permanent platform! (Would that be the right phrase?)
@@miyuverseofficial What challenge? Because that sounds kinda infuriating, but I guess you can't really expect more of most teens. Banning everything related to some disorders is just really lazy modding too.
My little brother has Autism and uh well My mom and nobody in my family knew how bad the puzzle logo was, I should inform my mom about it I'm happy I could learn this
1:04 i never knew this! i always thought to me that the puzzle piece meant that people with autism where different and special just like a puzzle piece but despite these differences they still fit into the whole puzzle just like us as a community/ world if that made any sense aha
Yeah, I think that the autism puzzle is an interesting one. Obviously the Autism Speaks connection is problematic, and I like your interpretation, but unfortunately I do think it is possible to interpret the puzzle piece in a negative way too (either that autistic people are puzzles we must 'solve' or that autistic people are like ... missing pieces). I do worry that as autism speaks came up with the symbol they were probably thinking of the negative aspects more than the positive ones. The fact it's blue is also a bit unfortunate in that the idea that autism is a 'boys thing' means lots of girls don't get diagnosed or are diagnosed late.
interestingly it wasn't until recently I learned of the negative meanings of the 'puzzle piece symbol' myself, I've been diagnosed with autism since grade school and never knew it didn't mean as you suggested then again I always think of 'fitting in some place or another' as the meaning of any puzzle piece, with or without it being a symbol for autism. so learning it is seen as a negative thing made me quite sad honestly, as someone who liked the symbol since i also really enjoy solving things, though obviously that's a personal reason.
watching this. seeing the first video of the lady call herself an “autism mom” good christ- that’s genuinely kinda upsetting, like she’s using her child as a title or a scapegoat or something..
Ok, some advice from a person with autism, ABA, isn’t the best. At least with my family’s experience, my brother, he had ABA until he was 8, it didn’t help, it just mad him go to preschool 4 times, they weren’t teaching him, they were making him memorize colors, they were reading him books for like 3 year olds. My family decided I should have it for a while, and it was bad, they treated me like I was a little child. They wanted me pulled out of school, as they thought I wouldn’t be able to function properly there. For nonverbal people like my brother tho, there is a way for them to communicate, there is this thing, I can’t remember the name, but it’s when a kid uses a letterboard, and my brothers really smart, we just didn’t know it.
Hiii can you do an anxiety awareness tiktok compilation? I know anxiety is pretty understood but there’s still so many people who think it’s just being worried a lot when it’s way more then that! 👉🏻👈🏻💞
I love this. I don't have autism, but sure try to be supportive to every person I come in contact with. The rhetoric of "you can't live a life worth living if you're autistic" sucks a lot and I love how those people bring awareness to this important topic. I love seeing autistic people just vibing, showing that you can live with autism without being miserable. I love seeing supportive parents and families who just love their autistic family members just as they are. It's so wholesome!
Autism is like having an allergie, a part of the brain is what other people see as "weird", though there is no one way the brain works. Having autism is just your brain behaving different from how other people behave, just like an allargie. There's nothing wrong with it, it just means you have to be treated different because you will not react to stuff the same way other will.
According to recent studies, autistic people have a weak intestinal flora and a thin blood-brain barrier, so their body can't fight toxins off normally (red meat, dairy, grains), resulting in a chronic inflammation in brains, which many people claim to have cured with a special diet.
I don't like this analogy... there's nothing wrong with having an allergy except for you could die because of an allergy, that is an issue! I agree with what I assume it's supposed to mean. The environment really has a huge impact. When I'm at home I don't show any autistic behavior or symptoms because there's nothing that bothers me or hinders me there's been very little research going in this direction but it's definitely worth looking into and a path we should continue on. There also was this small scale experiment that has been done to try and show that autistic people don't socialize and communicate badly, but its that autistic and neurotypical people are bad at communicating with each other on both sides.
Me: Oh yeah, no, I don't have autism, it's just the ADHD and the social anxiety growing up and preventing me from learning how to socialize combining themselves to make it look like I do. But there's no way, right? Me, after watching this and finding every single one relatable: ...
I don't have autism, but I do have adhd and I share a lot of symptoms with those with autism. It's really important to give neurological disorders proper attention and representation in the media because a lot of times when I'm expressing certain behaviours caused by my neurological differences, I get a lot of negative feedback which just makes the situation worse.

4:28 holy shit this is so relatable. As someone with Aspergers (a type of autism typically classified as 'high-functioning'), I often feel as if the high-functioning label to some extent negates the support other people feel that I 'need', when it's definitely NOT that simple.

People joke about serious stuff alot.
Honestly, it may come from a place of frustration in your friend. I have two autistic brothers, and often they can be difficult due to the way their brain works. When I was younger and not as knowing especially, I would speak badly about them bc I just didn’t understand.

I’m autistic. I flap my hands a lot as a stim. One time in my art class, a met a girl, and we became friends. I quickly picked up on the fact that she never once commented about my stimming. She said it was because she had just gotten used to seeing me do it. I wish I knew more people like her, who don’t make a big deal about it. I honestly hate it when people act like there’s something wrong with me when I stim. I frequently get comments like “exited, huh?” Or “you’re stimming again.” It’s so annoying, so it was really refreshing meeting someone who didn’t make a big deal about it.
In 4th grade, some kid saw me stimming at the cafeteria table and started rumors about it while I was absent from sickness. I can't recall exactly what he said, bc it was a long time ago, but luckily my friends stood up for me :D he did lots of other things too but he made fun of me for stimming a lot :(
Could there possibly be a trigger warning for autism torture please? ABA is known to traumatise autistics and employs techniques that are classified as torture by the FDA, all it does is makes the individual more palatable for allists
It's at 6:40
Would Social Skills therapy be classified as ABA ? Also what is ABA ?
@@theroadtocosplayandcomicco5840 not sure if it does count, I'll bring that up with an autism group I'm a part of!
ABA stands for Applied Behavioural Analysis
In short, it "trains" autistic individuals to conform to allist (non autistic) social norms in a similar way to how one trains a dog - normally by withholding, comfort items, food and water, and with absolutely no consent on the individuals part
It is seen as a "cure" even though it impliments techniques that are legally stated as torture (see: withhold of basic needs) and is often the only insurance funded "therapy" option for children
Unfortunately, most parents are unaware that they're subjecting their child(s) to a lifetime of PTSD, and autism suppression, which can lead to burnout
ABA is based off of the same techniques as gay conversion therapy, and the fact that there isn't as much uproar about some of our most vulnerable citizens being forced into conformity is abhorrent
Hope this answers your question, and thank you for asking so politely (I'll find out about social skills classes for you)
Maybe a trigger warning for ABA mentions, not necessarily autism torture since there was no ABA practices shown or filmed
@@Equal_inDeath except for when they wrote stuff like "always reward good behavior" that's already bad enough I personally saw more hints to ABA than just that it definitely can and would be traumatic to someone who went through it and having to relive a trauma is considered torture in my books

@@emma7933 yeah okay i agree with that .
interestingly it wasn't until recently I learned of the negative meanings of the 'puzzle piece symbol' myself, I've been diagnosed with autism since grade school and never knew it didn't mean as you suggested then again I always think of 'fitting in some place or another' as the meaning of any puzzle piece, with or without it being a symbol for autism. so learning it is seen as a negative thing made me quite sad honestly, as someone who liked the symbol since i also really enjoy solving things, though obviously that's a personal reason.

YOU ARE SUCH AN AMAZING PERSON
I never thought of it like that before, good analogy! :)

I just think labels are nothing more than putting someone into a box
@@coffintears5821 exactly. I hate when people try to stereotype! Every person on this earth is a complex human being yet people try to focus on one thing that doesn't even define them as a person
please, i love these, if you can make more of these I would love that! as an autistic person, 2020 (the hell its been) has also provided me, for the first time in 22 years of life, Love Acceptance Validation Normalcy and Understanding. I am so happy to see these and I can only hope for more going forwards!!! :D
None of them made fun of autistic people and made it completely inoffensive. Thank you
Me: *growing up most likely autistic - stimming, sensory overloads, tics, hyperfocusing on random things, relying on describing sensations with weird analogies because I couldn't exactly figure out which emotions were which, disproportionate reactions to minor inconveniences or inconsistencies, etc. All leading to me being bullied regularly and forcing me to develop an aversion to people because I can't tell whether or not they actually like me or if they're just making fun of me.*
My mother, years later when I'm now a stunted adult: "Oh yeah I knew you were different, but I didn't want to get you tested and risk them putting you on a list."
Wow thanks
I have two friends with mild autism and this is one of the best videos I have seen to educate people about this

*Yes please ohmygod*
Just because someone is "high functioning" does not mean that it's a compliment! They still struggle even if it doesn't "ApEaR tHaT wAy" blah blah blah!
Just because you're high functioning doesn't mean that you don't have to deal with the ticks, the stutters, the processing problems, the social faults, *and the goddamn roller-coaster of a ride that is communicating fluently with people!* It gives me a headache when someone says, "Oh wow! You're so high functioning!" like that's supposed to help or do anything. Thanks Karen. You're a REAL lifesaver.
I know this paragraph might be overlooked like a burnt piece of cookout liver, but to those reading this, thank you. On the spectrum or not we are all people with emotions. And for the spectrum, we appreciate you here and love you to no end! I support you!

Dude thank you for using the rainbow infinity and not the puzzle piece! So much appreciation and love for you right now!💛💛💛

That one person who asks: "Can I play with your toy"
Me: "Uh it's not really a toy-"
Them: "Uh yea it is!"
Me: "I chew on it, you really wanna play with it?"
Them: "WHY WOULD YOU CHEW ON YOUR TOY?!"
Me: " I said it wasn't really a toy it's so I don't rip the skin off my fingers!" (I bite the skin off my fingers)
(I don't have autism but this happens whenever I'm using my fidget thing)
YEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!! FINALLY SOMEONE WHO HAS POSTED AUTISTIC TIKTOKS!!!!! I used to be an aspie TikToker for a bit but things got to hard on the app
For me so I switched to Likee. Yes my form of Asperger’s is an ASD. So when I saw this video pop up on my recommended I got so so so excited!!!!! Thank you so much
1:50 I was not aware of this puzzle piece toxicity >~< Idk but all the autism conventions and centers I've been to use it and I've never learned otherwise, but I'm glad she brought this up! My family's been aware of my diagnosis since I was about 3, and I got a lot of support and help so yeah :)
Edit: Also 4:30 !! Omg, I get this so so much! Like, idk what your definition of a "normal" person is but... wow, buddy... I feel like some people also need to be reminded that autism is a spectrum and not everyone is sensitive to smells, or needs safe foods, or needs help with social cues, etc. Everyone is just a little different on the spectrum but we're all still valid!
My brother has a rare unidentified autism and has is blood taken to an amarican lab and stuff like that and he’s doing well😊 I always hate it when I play an online game and people say f**k you you’re dumb an autistic. It really breaks my heart.
Hi. I’m have maladaptive daydreaming disorder and I was wondering it you could make a compilation of tik toys related To that. (But only if you want to) Ok thank you
I love that little bus collection! The bus service where I live had a freebie booth with little squishy buses, and mine is by far the best stim toy i own.
:O I was actually asking for this video but yt kept hiding my comments!
Or just from me idk
@@spongeyyy lol thanks :D
Hi. Sorry. One of the TikToks said that he was in ABA but only in the caption. Is he okay? Does his family know that it’s abuse?
Yeah aba is really really bad
ABA therapy follows the same methods as English horse training. Not cool!
yeah that family's whole set concerned me
Day 3 of asking for a compilation of feminine straight guys.
YESSS
Lol
YES
Yesssss
YES PLEASE
The last one just warmed my heart! They look so happy and look like they were having so much fun!!
The guy making a joke about keeping eye contact killed me-
sometimes people will talk about my sister (who is autistic) in front of her. they say things like "why is she doing that" and "whats wrong with you sister?" Its like dude, she's right there, if she can hear you say hi from across the gym after school, she can hear you calling her weird and wrong when your in the same room as her.
Been looking for autism tiktok comps for ages, this one was really good. (Also the first one I've found) Could you do more at some point? The other videos you post I also like! You got a new subscriber. :D
1:51 I personally like the TBH creature and the Rainbow infinity sign :DD
I have two brothers with autism this totally made my day. They’re two of the most slightly frustrating but creative and wonderful people in my life. I get frustrated when autism is treated as a terrible infliction; both of my brothers are very smart and talented, and while they face challenges, they still enjoy everyday to it’s fullest
4:28 holy shit this is so relatable. As someone with Aspergers (a type of autism typically classified as 'high-functioning'), I often feel as if the high-functioning label to some extent negates the support other people feel that I 'need', when it's definitely NOT that simple.
This makes my day. My little cousin, Oliver, is autistic and these just warm my heart.
Thank you so much for uploading a comp of positive autism awareness tiktoks. I myself am on the spectrum and it means so much to see people like myself educating others on what autism really is like and breaking down stigmas people have about it
The one where he someone said that the girls brother was not autistic, and where he said "Wow! I'm going to go socialize and look people in the eyes!" I felt that. I have autism, but I'm high functioning. I totally understand what he's saying, because I can't really socialize and need to have something in common with them to actually have a conversation. Also I can't look men in the eye. I can look woman in the eye just fine, but men? No thank you. That has always been a problem for me. I just thought that what he said was really funny.
my therapist thinks i might be autistic, so i’m trying to find out more about autism, tiktok comps are the best way for me to do that so thank you for making this!
I had a question. Even if you don't have autism is it still okay to buy fidgets and chewies for anxiety reasons?
edit: lol guess what I think I have adhd and maybe autism soooooo I bought some chews and fidgets :)
like I can understand fidgets but what about chewies??
@@yepperoniii6504 Yes, of course! When I feel anxious, I chew on my cheeks and lips. I wouldn't recommend that so I think you should totally buy chewies! Everyone had their own ways of reliving anxiety. 💞
They are just tools! Anyone who needs to use a tool to solve a problem is welcome to :)
Fidgets and chewies aren’t exclusively for autism. For example, I play with fidgets to 1)relieve anxiety 2) keep me focused in class.
Fidgets and chewies are also good for ADHD :)
3:55 i am absolutely in love with this outfit. like the tiktok is very important and good and yes but also i want this outfit
This guy at 11:28 is such a wholesome person. He radiates so much positivity in his tiktoks ^^
this literally made my entire week thank you so much for uploading this
I have aspergers, and I did not know about the rainbow infinity sign. I thought that after the puzzle piece there was nothing, so I'm glad I know about this. I learned 1 new fact today
Oh, that last one was so sweet! Seeing parents and their kids doing things together is awesome. That's the best!
I have autism!! This made me happy :)
Great :)
Hey Renny Phoenix, what the flag that’s blue and green in your profile pick, I haven’t seen that one before and want to educate myself on more LGBTQ+ sexuality’s and Genders
@@buddyboi4493 it's a gay (mlm) pride flag, it's kind of new/not well known. The rainbow one is for lgbt+ in general, but lots of people use it as a gay pride flag (which isn't really wrong) I hope that helps lol
@@KumarKumar-ic3ys This does help, thank you!
As a person with autism I appreciate this post so so much! It made me smile a lot! And it made me feel less alone! Thank you so so much! 😊💫
The first tiktok: blue puzzle piece logo
The second tiktok: why a lot of autistics don’t like the blue puzzle piece logo
These are so wholesome ! I didn't know there was any sort of community, it's great :) And the one with movies vs reality, I felt called out !
She has a blue puzzle piece-
I love how your most recent compilations are focused on mental health. It really helps raise more awareness! You're awesome :)
In the first TikTok, she had a blue puzzle piece, then in the second one she calls out those people. Oopsies, lol.
Edit: Now I know what she was holding up after watching someone else in the video showing them. My bad!
0:22 puzzelpiece iconery and blue being associated with autism is super ableist el oh el.
That first tiktok made me slightly uncomfortable because of the Chewlerry. It's a blue puzzle piece, like the logo for Autism Speaks. And that makes me V uncomfy
Thank you so much for posting this because i'm on the low spectrum of autism so thank you so so much!!!!!!
