Ford windshield wiper motor position calibration (Focus RS, ForScan)

- My Focus RS's windshield wiper stopped around 3 to 4" from the edge of the windshield. But you can fix this with an ELM OBDII cable and ForScan! I detail the procedure in this video. This procedure should work on any recent Ford.
This resolved an issue on my son's 2015 Ford Focus Titanium hatchback where the wiper on the passenger side always struck the support pillar. Thanks for posting the video!
Sometimes the problem is within the wiper arm itself. If it was removed for, say, work on the front suspension or battery, it needs to be manually reinstalled following the markings on the bottom of the windshield. After that you can recalibrate it, but most of the times, repositioning it correctly will do the trick just fine.

My wipers opened and stayed all the way open and now just jump or wiggle back and forth 2". The car had been parked for 3 months over winter. Go out the fire it up for first time and wipers open and stopped in full open position. Dealer says $700 for new motors and its fixed. Can I fix this myself? I can change brakes, plugs and such so I'd think this could be fixed for less .

This seemed to work on my charger just now
my left wiper goes over the edge of the windshield onto the "A pillar" and then gets stuck. My mechanic said motor is busted but when I pull the wiper arm off it cycles all the way. Do you think this would fix it?

To fix that, take your arms off, turn electrical on, and reinstall the arms. Take note where the arms are when switch is activated.
Did you find that the wipers sweep further out when the windscreen is wet?
What ELM OBDII adapter do you use? I currently have a Bluetooth one. Scantools OBDLink MX that I use with FORScan on my super duty. There’s no switch to change from HS to MS

Problem with the rest position. If any service performed on your car had removed the wipers, they were probably reinstalled incorrectly. There's videos online showing how to fix it.
