    She sang with Dessay once and was great, however Dessay sang the high G like she was extremely relaxed while Vidal appear as if she was really going hard for the note. Anyway, she's great in this!

      Interesting! I had the exact opposite experience! By the way the note is a G#

      Thank you for the note correction (I updated the title and thumbnail). All these years I never realized the music changed keys at the first bell refrain so assumed this note was a G, but it's a G-sharp!

      Both had an easy high register. E. Vidal has kept it for a long time whereas N. Dessay lost it prematurely. Having heard them both lives many times E. Vidal had a larger voice and her high notes (up to High-A) always seemed very secure

      I really appreciate both singers, but interestingly, Vidal seems to have enjoyed access to the extreme upper range for longer than Dessay. And judging by the sound alone, Dessay in her prime had a sound which I would intuitively think was healthier than the somewhat wiry timbre of Vidal.
