Tucker was the first novel that I read by Louis L'amour. In my review I basically say that it is the quintessential L.L. western because pretty much every predicament that happens in a L.L. western is here. It's a typical L.L. western. I have a nostalgic or sentimental attachment to it. How The West Was Won is Not a L.L. novel. L.L. wrote the book based on a screen play by James B. Webb. I have two of those Longmire novels but haven't read them yet. You scored pretty good on this haul. -James
You picked up some real gems and my name in lights (kind of) to boot!😂 I have only read Longmire #1 but I plan to read the series slowly over the next year or so. The TV series based on the books is definitely worth watching. Great job!
I might get into that Louis L’amour books. Idk how “western” they are, but the covers remind me how me and my papaw would watch AMC and TMC pretty much all day.
They are enjoyable. I have a why you should read video on Louis Lamour that has my recommendations on which I enjoyed. If you are interested. Have a good Monday!
That’s a great haul sir! I can’t wait to hear what you think of the Longmire series. If you end up liking it my local library tends to have 4 or 5 different books in the series on sale and I’d be happy to pick up some and send them to you. Also the shadow riders was a really fun and enjoyable read for me and if I remember correctly I think hide and read enjoyed it as well.
Nice haul kevin, seem to be good value as well Just curious if you have a fixed budget or a specific number in mind when you buy books. Have a good week ahead
Thank you. No fixed budget. Although my wife may disagree…but I want to ensure I get them on the cheap while supporting used bookstores or bookstore that give back. I would rather my money be spent there than at Barnes and Noble or Amazon. I sometimes go with specific books in mind, and usually looking for books of a list I keep of folks on YT who recipe recommend certain books. Good question. I may have to elaborate on this subject soon. Enjoy your week as well!
Morning Kevin. My friend dad was a Navajo code talker. Fascinating stuff. Fun diverse haul. Enjoy❤
Wow, how awesome is that. I bet it’s very fascinating. Thank you for sharing that Patty! Have a good week!
What a great book haul, Kevin. I love those short story anthologies. Great stuff!
Me too. Short stories are here to stay for me, so fun and most have great depth and punch for a small package. Have a great week Pat!
It’s always a good Monday when somebody else does a book haul!!! That way I get to keep my money.
😂
Great selection man. I look forward to hearing about the Louis Lamour books and the Elmore Leonard collection.
Thanks Caleb. I also look forward to them! Hope you are well.
