James is so underrated, he is awesome and his songs bring out such emotions!
One of my favorite songs! I remember hearing, "You're beautiful," during my second deployment, (13 months in Afghanistan. ) NATO forces started to take over our American base that year. I was a young and naive, but I "felt" this song. It always takes me back.

Wow, when she asked about him playing the girl that never was for his wife, you can see the haunted, pained emotion in his face. That was a hard question. 😢
I got a story to tell. Flashback to the early 2000s, my classmates and I went to the Walker Creek Ranch field trip. We stayed there for a week and my buddies and I got to meet this funny black kid, who would often sing the song "YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL!" day in, day out. 😂😂 One time, when there were no adults around in the cabin, he dared somebody to fight him. I accepted the challenge and lost the match after 5 seconds into the fight. 😂😂 He was cool though, and we had some laughs together afterwards. He'd shadow play in the middle of the night just for laughs. I never did see him again after the trip was over. But boy, was he funny as hell😂😅

When I first heard the song Your Beautiful I asked the teacher to play it again and again and again and all my classmates got annoyed and my teacher gave me the album to take home I remember playing it on my Xbox and singing it when I’d play halo 3 or cod 4 mw haha man I love that song also the album back to bedlam was and is a really good body of work

Um, the song is about falling for someone you see for a few seconds because of their physical attributes and being shattered by it -- totally shallow and moronic. Music was very beautiful, but I wish the message was not so juvenile.

The song is relatable to more people than you think. You need to remember that not everyone thinks like you. The world does not revolve around you.

Is it not a song about a guy who sees someone for maximum a few minutes and is crushed because he will never see her again? They never spoke, not real connection, and he is like torn apart. i just saw an old interview. the song was actually about him bumping into an ex girlfriend. their eyes met and shared a lifetime in that one moment but he knew they would never be together again. and when he got home, he wrote that song.

In all fairness the irritation is probably down to the pitch of his singing voice rather than his songs, as he does sound like a puppet character from Sesame Street.
The song gets hate because it's a terrible song. He's apparently proud of the fact he wrote it in five minutes, but the thing is, it sounds like he wrote it in five minutes. It's not one of those songs that for some reason comes easily but sounds like he put months into it. Any amateur could pick up a guitar and write a song like You're Beautiful.
"I just thought it was such a pretty lyric". Yes, perhaps if a five year old wrote it.
Look, I don't mean no harm, and he seems like a great guy that has deserved his success, for the most part. But his music is rubbish. Texts are lame. But if you like it, no skin of my nose. It was played a lot at a time where I just could not escape radio, whereas now, i barely listen to any radio. But back then, James Blunt, Maroon 5, and a few others was pure torture and we could probably claim some damage in a class action lawsuit.
I always loved listening to the You're Beautiful song - but (I'll be honest) I HATE the video!! Suicide is NOT a solution to anything! More and more young people are sadly taking their own lives. A "love that will never happen" is NO reason for killing yourself. Pretty song, but disgusting video which is an extremely bad example.
