    I just love your videos Josh! UA-cam algorithm pointed me towards you at some point while binging on Mellow videos. Best case of : "Look! Here is some quality content you are likely to subscribe to." Indeed.

    Damnnn, insane. I've never climbed on the kilterboard so I don't know how it compares to a moonboard but a 7a on a moonboard is much harder than a regular boulder and you just went ahead and flashed it.
    Beast 🔥

      Ah thank you! Unfortunately I have to say it’s a lot easier than a moon board at least I think so. The holds are pretty good and the problem’s do feel softer.

    Good video guys. Kilter looks like such a good training tool. 5 gyms in Bristol and still no kilter.

      Thank you 😊. It’s really good and super fun! Definitely get beefy shoulders if you climbed on it all the time! I know! Crazy someone needs to build one! Although to be honest I prefer a woody.

    Super video Josh. Looks like the kilter board is quite fun. Do the blocs specify which angle they should be done on to maintain the grade?

    • @JoshRundle
      @JoshRundle  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks Nick 😊. The Kilter board is really awesome! I think they change depending on the angle of the board. So on the app you set the angle you have chosen then it gives you a list of boulders to try.

    • @Nick-B78
      @Nick-B78 3 роки тому +2

      @@JoshRundle ah ok that makes sense. I’m guessing it does allow you to also try out harder stuff that you can’t quite do but on a slightly less severe angle too so you can learn the moves and get a feel for them in a more ‘accessible’ way 😀

    • @JoshRundle
      @JoshRundle  3 роки тому +1

      @@Nick-B78 I think so but we just left it on 40 degrees so not 100% sure. That was my only time trying it but it would make sense if it did that. I think it just changes the grade a bit if you make it less steep.

    • @KilterClimbingGrips
      @KilterClimbingGrips 3 роки тому

      @@Nick-B78 exactly! You can change the angle to learn moves/holds then make it steeper once you’re ready. Also some climbs are easier steeper because you don’t have to go as far up on the moves, so each problem is graded at each angle.

    We have a tension board and kilter board in my gym and I have to say the tension board is absolutely “nails” as you say. Whereas the kilter board definitely feels softer.

    • @JoshRundle
      @JoshRundle  3 роки тому

      O cool is a tension board the same as a woody? Yea I thought the Kilter boards was quite a lot softer too, I think it's because all the holds are so good!

    • @thegreatballplayer1
      @thegreatballplayer1 3 роки тому

      @@JoshRundle I would assume so just based on the fact that a tension board has all wooden holds😂. But in all honesty I’ve never heard of a woody

    • @JoshRundle
      @JoshRundle  3 роки тому

      @@thegreatballplayer1 haha, I just googled it they look the same. I think different countries call them different things, we call them either a woody or a board.

    Fun video - wish I had access to one of those! Are feet on the handholds (blue light) allowed? For some of the problems?

      Yes the blue lights can be used for hands and feet

      Thank you 😊. It’s a bit of a drive to get to for me unfortunately too so it’s an all day type of thing but feel lucky to have tried it out! Yes like Ned said you can stand on anything that is lit up.

    Does the kilter board have relatively nice holds? And is it morpho once you get to the more difficult grades? (big moves on decent holds) and is it a bit easier than the moonboard?

    • @jordanbroadhead7388
      @jordanbroadhead7388 3 роки тому

      Yeah most of the holds are pretty good. Although there are some crimps and slopers and underclings. Mostly big moves

    • @jordanbroadhead7388
      @jordanbroadhead7388 3 роки тому +2

      I'd say the grades are a bit softer than the moonboard but there are still some wildly hard climbs on the kilterboard

    • @JoshRundle
      @JoshRundle  3 роки тому +1

      The holds are pretty good, if your used to a woody they are pretty big. It felt like the harder the grade the bigger the moves but the holds where still pretty good. I agree with Jordan I think the grades are a bit softer.

    Are you allowed to match hands on the kilter or moon board?

    • @pinchomaniac2643
      @pinchomaniac2643 3 роки тому +4

      You are allowed but it is sometimes discouraged by the setter (in the title etc).

    • @JoshRundle

      Yea I think you can on the kilter Board and maybe moon board but I think it’s frowned upon on woodys
