I've had birds decimate my seeded bare spots before. Mainly Juncos where I'm at. So the last step I usually do is tie a ~2ft piece of reflective bird tape onto a plant-support loop stake, and stick that in the middle of my seeded spots, so it hangs above the grass and flaps in the wind. It's surprisingly effective. Without it, I see birds eating all day, they don't care if the seed is covered with peat moss/compost. With it, I see virtually no birds nearby.
Justin spreading his seed again..... oh boy 🤣🤣. Turned out great bud. 👍🏻
Always any chance I can 🤪🤪
Always a good time watching the grass grow.
The best time!!
I needed to see this video today. Preparing to lay a lot of TTTF seed in my back lawn that has a lot of bare spots. Thanks for the information!
Last Aussie 😁. Justin, great advice. You are definitely a pro at plugging. 😬
Jeez and sheesh this dude is so damn fine! ...and he just saved me $$ on grass plugs, as I never would have thought to take plugs from my own lawn. Have a grasstastic day, grass daddy.
I've been using the pro plugger for a few holes in my TTTF lawn. Definitely not as great as doing it on a KBG or warm weather lawn, but it still works to fill the spot. Once the plant re-establishes and grows, it blends in enough with the surrounding lawn to form a cohesive look. Agreed that it's an awesome tool.
Yeah I would agree with that! It’s awesome though!!

*Please, do a video on Exterior Lighting (specifically for the landscapes that "can Not use Solar Lighting" and please include driveway entry lights.)*
(There is not 1 video that addresses electric ground lighting entry lights *and "a link offering styles/options for Purchase".* Image a venue for viewer hits/likes/purchases)
I'm amazed how many redundant similar Solar Light videos come up, but few-None that have the complete scope of: electric landscape lights and none that are "organized, showing style options, clear 1-2-3 installation, and option of link to purchase.
I plan to hire an electrician to install, but I need a review of some products and a purchase option.
My son lives in "Shelby Forest", Memphis, TN. ... and his property is Forest! Tree lined driveway with house set back appx 200 feet from the road, about 15 feet of the driveway to garage is clear of trees, the rest is fully shaded.
Thus I want to purchase 2 entry lights, about 14 - 20 ground lights, and a spot light, with a timer and possibly "Smart-System".
Then later I or he can purchase his backyard group to add on.
This should be a reasonable, easy, expectation. However, there seems to be a "gap in available info" on this subject. (Or my Search capabilities, lol)
Thus, it may be quite a good opportunity for you and your Channel.
Please consider my plea for assistance and "grant my desire with sweet ease" 💫 😁
Thanks,

I can't see where to turn in the dark!
Justin this has to be the MOST common question I get asked when I'm out in the yard tending to the patch. Thanks for providing the BANK content!!
CONGRATS ON 100k!!!! Well deserved
Awesome video, thanks for the tips. Just ordered a pro plugger.
Hey Justin. Please demonstrate patching spot on a slope when you don't have a spreading type grass like TTTF. Thx.
I live where there is a ton of clay. My front lawn is very uneven. How would you suggest leveling the lawn? I assume I would need to level it before worrying about all of the bare spots?
Great video I'm definitely gonna check out sanctuary asap!
Sweet vinny!!!
Would the sanctuary replace other fertilizer? Meaning, just run that along with the bio stims? And if so, how often would you apply, for TTTF
So happy to find your channel!! Tons of great information. I do have a question that I hope gets to you regarding the grass around my SALT WATER POOL. Once the pool is going and the family (and dog) go in and out, the grass around it quickly deteriorates. I use a pelletized gypsum to keep it at bay, but is that the only option beyond a patio? If so, is this a weekly application?
Thanks
Great videos man. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, great stuff!!! Which sanctuary are you using please? What is the N-P-K? There are many options, which do you recommend for spot seeding? Many thanks again! Great knowledge and wisdom in your presentations!
I wish that sanctuary stuff was available in Canada
Sorry! Not easy to ship up there!
Love my Pro Plugger! 🍻
what fertilizer do you recommend for my grass? I live in Wyoming, zone 5, clay alkaline soil, fescue grass mostly. unable to grow bluegrass
Please help... In the next week or so I need to apply these 4 products to a TTTF/KBG lawn ... cool season.
Dominion 2L + Humic/Kelp + Hydretain + Propiconazole.
Which products can mix together so that I don't need to do separate 4 applications?
Yes, I know about taking small sample and mixing in a jar (jar test), but I would really like to know from those that have combined some of these products together and results.
Thank you.
Do you have pointers for people with pets? My grass turns yellow where she pees.
Can I fix a few bare spots after applying a pre emergent?
Yeah. Rough up the soil well before seed. Or use the proplugger
@@TheLawnWhisperer Thanks!
Unrelated to this video but could you remind me the pellet anti weed brand you use for your bedscapes? I tried finding the original video and had no luck.
I use preen
@@TheLawnWhisperer thank you 🙏🏼
Tall fescue or Kentucky blue grass?
I’ll be spilling seed and plugging holes. 🤪😜. Seriously, great video as always. Do you ever use the all in one products? (Seed, mulch, fertilizer) patch repair?
I doubt he uses the patch repair products, because a) they're not as cost effective, and b) the type of grass seed probably doesn't match what he has, so the patch might not blend in when it grows in. If you have something like a Scotts sun and shade grass mix, and you get the matching patch product, then it'd probably work just fine for small areas. I've used them in the past.
I just used the scotts EZ seed tall fescue mix and im seeing germination in under 10 days
I’ve never used them. Mainly because it’s more cost effective to buy the products separately and get better grass seed varieties. But maybe I’ll do a test using that product
Hey there! Just found your channel, and loving it. I'm very interested in your products.. I have 1.25 acres of Bermuda in Oklahoma (hot summers). What would be your recommendation for fertilizer? I'm partial to liquid, but willing to consider granular. My goal is to thicken up the grass and keep things green and growing as long as I can.
What do you fill the plug hole with from the good grass patch?
You can either leave it, put the dirt plug from the bare spot, or can back fill with sand or soil
Awesome.
Where can I buy Sanctuary?
I have St. Augustine grass is there seed at Lowes or home Depot I can use?
St. Augustine isn't sold in seeds. You can get it in sod or in plugs. Lowe's or Home Depot, even your local nursery, should have sod available to purchase. Best of luck.
Yes, this. Have to do sod or plugs!!
I think I burned my lawn about three days ago how do I fix it
Spreading your seed for the money shot. Lol
Gotta doooooooo it
What if I had put down pre-emergent this year already? I used Vigoro crabgrass preventer with the active ingredient Pendimethalin. I would still like to fill in some bare spots, any workaround for this?
If you break up the soil with something like a Garden Weasel, you should be OK planting seed. If you're using the ProPlugger method, pre-emergent doesn't matter.
If I put a pre emerge down back in April I’m assuming I can’t fill bare spots with seed still?
You still can seed those spots. You need to rough up that area to break the "blocking layer" made by the pre-emergent. Using g a heavy rake or garden weasel should take care of it.
Yup break up that spot and you’re good! Or use the proplugger if it’s a smaller area
Thanks guys!
Nice house
Thanks. That’s my parents
Heh heh spreading your seed....😎
Is the seed from big box stores?
No it’s not
Hey hey. There he is
Right here I am
Is the Sanctuary product safe for kids and pets?
Spray it, water it in, and you’re good to go 👍
Atta boy!
What about St Augustine?

I can't see where to turn in the dark!
Sup!
Yo yo yo!
With all the ongoing food shortages, I'm finding it practical to not mow my lawn this year and neither are my neighbors- or use Roundup on the weeds with all the wild garlic and onions and dandelions - food all around us, edible plants aplenty through the wonders of organic gardening - using eggshells, banana peels and coffee grounds. I'll bet at least some of those weeds would make a nice salad - accompanied by some nice pan roasted sunflower seeds . Plus, by not running a lawn mower, or using pesticides, I'm contributing less to the waste stream helping to preserve our precious planet. We're also leaving a couple of vacant abandoned houses alone - so that we can forage from those yards as well.
Cool
@@TheLawnWhisperer Thank you. I'm glad you like my idea.
@@MrRKWRIGHT I don’t. But to each their own
Imma use that plug to steal some grass from my neighbor
