Last video of the Mini Baja Bug was super long and I know that most of you just want to see this thing rip around without all of the talking and problem solving. I thought I would upload a short video of all the best shots of this project ripping around.
@ratherBweldingChris More unsolicited brand advice. Your LOGO would be great for a local welding shop. Let's face it. That is not what you got going on. You are missing out on merch revenue because you're merch looks like what a reputable company would make their employees wear. I get you can't make a t-shirt for all of your builds so people can buy their favorite. But... You can make something that people want to wear. The lowercase "ratherBwelding" is actually really good, I recommend just making the lowercase "r" the same size as if it were a capital R.
I have been a long time watcher and subscriber, and i can say as a developing mechanical engineer, its been a pleasure watching you grow and develop your skills. From Australia we are watching with enthusiasm and encouragement. Keep up the drive brother. Killing rhe game... From Australia with love 🤙
Things a beast! Try applying a little brake to the inside wheel on turns under full acceleration , this will transfer power to the outside wheel and should reduce that under steer.
A mid week special! I have confidence you'll get this sled engine tuned and running cool. You already have a fan on the radiator, maybe if you can fit a slightly larger radiator I think it will run in the 120-130⁰F range like it should. This thing is already a death sentence, maybe it should be in a larger buggy?
Chris your channel and the guys @grindhardplumbing are probably the two most watched channels in my feed I think both of your channels put out some amazing machines maybe you should get un touch with Eathen and collaborate and a build?
I left a comment on the last video and I will leave it here too. 2005-2012 Honda Silverwing has a fuel injected 600cc 4 stroke motor connected to a cvt. Double check the years for fuel injected. I know my 2012 has it. My silverwing will top out at 110 mph with no problem and might be a good replacement for your carb nightmares.
@@Jarda_B I saw some of the series and tbh if he has one he needs to keep it on, the driving he's doing there IS "super risky".. the fact it's so small it could easily tip because of the high centre of gravity (despite the soft suspension), it ONLY takes the wheel biting ONCE or hitting an unseen object when sliding and thats Game Over! Wait, Sunday got moved to the middle of the week? This changes my entire schedule. 😂 Thanks. You should go stupid nuts with this. Take the CBR600 you were building the reverse trike around, and put that in this.
I actually like the problem solving and bug fixes, but the ripping and riding videos are awesome to race the results of all the work. Subscribed for a while now. Keep making videos. I'll keep watching
You should enter the mini baja in pikes peak hill climb just to see how fast it really is and how much punishment it can take. Although I'd throw some nice wide low profile street tires on it so it handled way better on those sharp ass curves. Lol. Also make sure your fan is running the whole time climbing that road it's hard on motors that over heat fast.
Well done, but put the air filters back on or you are going to screw the cylinder bores with all the dust and crap this thing kicks up. This thing is awesome
Last video you were trying a lot of tuning. What jet size did you end up using? Are you still running filter pods? How did you solve the stahl on tight turns? I've watched the entire build! That bug absolutely rips now! 👍
That suspension is actually working. It is still bottoming out, but there's grip and weight shift for better grip, steering and relatively calm chassis. Not bad, better than the earlier models. Power to weight ratio is very close, gearing could be tweaked a tad. There's some low end torque that is not fully utilized and the limiter comes too quick. How does it jump?
I picked up a polaris Indy 500 engine, complete for $50 off FB Market! I have some ideas for a build, but never worked with this much power! Maybe Mega Moto 212 frame, drag and stretched, OR a Fire Truck Power Wheels. Any ideas? Your vids are very informative, straightforward, and damn right genius! 🔥
dont listen to the haters abt the roll bar. it needs a little but not much, something as simple as a bar across the top parallel with the ground, or making it circular instead of more triangular. Something that wont impact the form too much because, lets be honest, how the thing looks IS important.
You really need some stronger rear rakes, you should be able to almost block one of the rear wheels despite going full throttle. But this is such an awesome build.
Can you help us understand how the differential braking works? I get that one pedal does one side, etc., but how do you use them? Can you make it turn better, or accelerate better, etc.? It was such a unique part of the build.
You really need to build a proper roll cage before you get your head ripped off your body . Watch how you could flip it on those high speed three wheel turns your thinking are so much fun. Hit a rut a rock tree stump anything while doing that and it cartwheels and your not going to be able to pull your head low enough to save yourself, and I suggest proper safety belts at least 5 point system pulled tight as your able to stand just like the big boys do in their fast toys because your pushing your luck honestly too far. Glad yall figured out the carbs and now figured out how to make it safer so you live to enjoy it
That engine with those flatslides should make a little over 100hp at 8100 rpm . I don't think you're there yet, could be in the clutching, airbox would help a lot, triple pipes will give you 120hp
You need a sway bar... or two. I hate the 2 stroke CVT combo. You just have to rev the snot out of it constantly to go anywhere. Not sure how it is in real life, but it sounds VERY loud in the videos.
Pfft! Summit racing can send you a temp switch to automate the fan... I would recommend one at around 170° engagement to give plenty of headroom and lessen the likelihood of overheating. Those 600 triples don't like being run hot and are designed around 140°, give or take...
Hey Chris I've been enjoying your videos since you joined UA-cam and I would really like to continue this trend but I worry about you driving this one because if it ever goes over I'm afraid of what could happen to you, a broken neck perhaps and no one wants to see that. Be careful with this one Bud. I look forward to seeing your videos every week and don't want that to change. 👍🏻
Do baja bugs that do those eternal wheelies, do it via a moderate amount of power and careful weight distribution, or do they do it by sheer insane amounts of power?

Wait what... An unauthorized midweek video release! I LIKE IT! lol
Was going to say that too!
Love it. sounds like a skidoo motor all day but i may be wrong.
More people should know the joy of creating something so complicated and seeing it come to life. Well Done!
Now that it's running. Hook the fan up to the kill switch. So when kill switch is off fan is on. Or get a thermal switch.
Take that thing to badlands in Attica Indiana, they have some nice dunes that thing would be sweet in. Bring somethin to crawl with as well.
It would make the coolest R/c ever made, then you could send huge jumps at the dunes.
legend has it, he's yet to find any traction to this very day
You need an anti-roll bar.
You'll stay flatter in turns, much less understeer and better all round handling.
Loving the content 👍

world`s first real RC car to sit in! Everybody`s dream, and you made it!!
RC stands for remote controlled🤣
I bet it will have the fastest lap at the cars & camera loop!!!
So badass!!! I wanna see it out trail riding now!!
It sounds nuts
That thing RIPs. 😮😮😮😮😮😮
We might need another Grindhard camping trip. This would rip with the Colonel!
with all the work put in you didn't even have the air cleaner's on this this kart!!!
What an insanely nimble lookin machine. Incredible work building and working out the kinks.
all the unintentional three-wheeling, must be a blast and a terror driving it. The shot of it behind the SxS really shows how much of a mini it is :)
all good rather B welding
You need to enter in to the Baja 500
My favorite build so far! Love it!😀
I personally love the long videos with all the real world problems. Keep up the good work Chris!
A middle of the week upload that’s awesome!! Man that thing rips good 👌🏻
You need to get that out in the dunes and let it rip.
I knew it be a ripper 😃🤘

Chris, dude you forgot to turn your fan on a few times. Good thing you're looking at the gauge. Man you were ripping! 🔥

That thing ripppss!!!!👍 One the coolest builds I've seen!!!!!
If that thing was running 100%.... Omg it would be deadly .
Had me checking the calendar- it's not Sunday?! Seriously, this project is awesome!!
Wild been on Sundays only for like 3 yrs, good to see you in the middle of the week
Bro just blessed us with a midweek vid. Wtf !!!
These are my favourite, the rip after all the hard work is complete
Definitely reminds me of a R/C NItRO TRUCK/CAR
Tune it up and race on Pikes Peak.

No air filters
And all those burnouts throwing dirt right into the carbs🤦
That dirt only helps coat the cylinder walls for more compression.
I was just about to comment... that engine is gonna blow in 2 runs
Epic
Hell Yeah!
I'm stoked ❤

This is awsome two videos in one week
You definitely need a MUCH higher & wider roll bar. If that rolls over your head and neck are toast/ripped off! It looks proper fun to drive though..
he made that actually I suggest you to watch the whole series, but it ruins the esthetics so he only putts it on in super risky situation

I think you'd get more steering back with stiffer rear springs
You should get some marker flags so people can see you in the dust trails your making
