Yes, please need more leaf instruction videos
Coming up!!
Yes, more leaves! Great!
Yay!!
Thank you for the lesson. And free who could complain
That’s what I’ve always thought, lol!
You sure are good with that brush, Kristy. I love the things the dagger brush can do. I need to practice a lot. Watching you helps. ☺☺💖💖
That’s what we’re all here for!
I do like to see these techniques on their own like this so that you can practice them before putting together.
Glad to hear it! More coming!
I learn so much from you, I try to watch other tutorials and I just don't learn as much. I have your brush set and I just ordered your Art for joy collection paints, next month I'll get your book. Thank you
The twisty leaves always stump me too. I liked tis short upclose to the point video. Thank you and hope you are all feeling better.
This video format came out of pure desperation for getting a vid up today after a week of being sick. I kind of like it too since so many always ask for more in depth! Thanks for watching!!
I thought that brush was my find!!!! It is fab! Love u.
Would love more tutorials on leaves
More coming!!
This type of "dimensional" curling/twisting is my favourite thing to paint/draw, whether it's leaves, or petals, or octopus arms, It's just so fascinating to me! Thanks for the demonstration!
Me too!! I find it very cathartic
I’ve been waiting for just this subject. I’ll be rewatching this to get the technique down solid. Thanks so much
You’re welcome!
Love your strokes. And mix of paint.
Thanks so much!!
Always so fun and relaxing to watch your tutorials!
I’m so glad to hear it!
Thanks for sharing 💛
You’re welcome!
So relaxing to watch you paint. I haven’t painted in awhile but want to get back to it. Very encouraging and inspiring.
Promise me you’ll get back at it… give yourself a low key deadline :)
So happy to see another leaf video. Can't wait to try this. As soon as I excavate the madness that is my desk from a weeks worth of inktense experiments definately going to try this, along with all your other leaf videos. You really are one of the best watercolor teachers on here, you make it OK to play while learning and thats so comforting. Happy your starting to feel better.
Glad to hear of all your experiments and thank you for the very kind words!!!
I hope you are feeling better😍
I am! Thank you!!
Beautiful leaf design. Your colors are so wonderful.
Thanks so much!
I love your channel Kristy. This video is awesome, I could instantly see where the leaf bent when you added the purple. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate your kind words soooo much!!
Thanks for this Kristy. I’ve been having trouble with this. I see it now.
Yay!!
Beautiful! The way you teach is so comfortable 🥰 That stunning colour on the bottom right of your palette is so unexpected
Thanks so much!!
I struggle with those leaves, a lot, thank you for the video!! I hope you are gerting better, and BTW, I see that watercolor set, and I start acting up like the Pavlov s doggies...❤️😍❤️
Omg you’re so funny!! Getting back to normal slower than I’d like but getting there!
@@KristyRice 🙏 for you guys 🙏
Thank you for this, I’ve been having a bit of trouble with this
I hope this simple approach helps a bit!!
Thanks Kristy I've been trying to learn to capture movement in my leaves as well as with flowers
Still practicing though ❤️
Me too!! XO
Your 12 second roses were a game changer. I love this one too. You’re really helping me let loose and be OK with not being perfect. I was wondering, I’m really struggling with arrangements and compositions for bouquets and was wondering how you go about it? How do you know what looks good where? Do you have a video about that?
I sure do!! ua-cam.com/video/0j2zI0A9VWg/v-deo.html
Thank you for the video. I’ve been having problems painting leaves. Glad to know you are feeling better. Do you have any updates on your palette? Take care
You’re welcome! Palette should launch sometime after mid May!
I love your videos. Can anybody paint? I’ve been attempting this for a long time. I keep judging myself so badly. I do not want to give up
Awesome work, so outside of the box, love it. By the way, I have a question, I've watched your vids on the watercolour brands you like and use and I was wondering if you've ever used the brand Royal & Langnickel and what your thoughts are about them...if it's not to much to ask could maybe do a video on them...thing is I've been looking for good information on this brand for so long and haven't any success...I hope it's not to much trouble, Thanks :)
R&L is actually the brand that made me fall in love with dagger brushes!!! Very good company!! Super affordable but great quality brushes!
Looks like ribbons. I can paint this.
You’re welcome!!
It would help me immensely if, when doing leaves or leaf drills, you could mention whether the leaf was being drawn coming FROM the stem or going to the stem. Maybe this sounds stupid, but when I'm doing drills, it's difficult to know which end goes to the stem!!!
But that palette… 😍 Any ETA?
Delivery should happen this week, then quality checks, then off to Amazon!
@@KristyRice so exciting!!! Can’t wait
BTW, I think the link for the next video is incorrect.
Oh let me check!
How do you know where to add a darker color?
Well sometimes I just go with my instinct, or will follow what I see in a reference photo, or if working from my imagination I’ll add a shadow where one leaf just overlaps another…. If you’re painting from life you can think about where the light source is coming from. The surface closest tot he light will be brightest, the surface obscured from the light will be shadowy :)
That was very helpful... very clear... usable.... understandable. Thank you so much!
