Call Clutter Fairy hi my closet overwhelms me and it’s because I like all my clothes and I do wear it all “ well almost all “ lol but I do try last year I felt in the shower, and my question is can you give any tips on how to declutter my closet
I'm presently going through just that with my sewing room. I've placed a timeline as to finally finishing in order to actually getting my small business going. Your advise has encouraged me that I'm thinking correctly TO give it a timeframe for each task to get me to the appointed finish line and direction with next steps. Thank you for sharing a refreshing view to an age old dilemma💕
@call clutter fairy, ms norine, please help me? Im in pain due to a broken disc thats lodged into my sciatic nerve. Ive been this way for almost 4yrs. My house has become the house of extreme hoarders. Especially my room. I was bed ridden until 6mos ago. My son moved back in to help me (not much help) and my craft room had to be dismantled and everytg is jammed in my living room and bedroom. I was a social butterfly and a big over shopper so my clothes shoes etc are bursting out bcus my apartment has very little closet space. I NEED HELP
YES! I feel overwhelmed. Ever since I had a serious illness, things have gone downhill. Often, my general feeling is, "What's the point?!". I like the idea of 1) starting small, 2) starting with something specific, and 3) using a timer. I can do that! I too, have had to clean out a loved one's estate, and it's worthwhile to bear in mind: "You can't take it with you".
Wow! You just said what I’ve been going through for 15 years! I’m single, and my kids are grown, but something seems to happen every day, I don’t feel well, or I have pain. I have a new, but smaller house, am feeling disorganized, have medical papers, sewing and fixing things, and I still haven’t started my taxes. Geez! But these tips are so helpful!
Your voice, manner of speaking, tone, and the way you explain things is SO accepting, encouraging, and pleasant! Like chatting with a friend. No judgement, no pushing, no over the top rah-rah type stuff- just right. I am so glad I found you!
I like that you are realistic. Also, your voice is calming and nonjudgemental. Some of the people that have organizing videos have "know it all" or bossy attitudes, and you are more like a friend would be. I look forward to looking for more of your videos. The hardest thing for me is to just get STARTED.
Yes! Or, I get started, but never finish! Wish I could identify manageable categories in my paper piles & files & boxes so I could finish just ONE CATEGORY, cross it off my list, then move on to the next. Let’s say Taxes, or Financial, for instance. Should I get rid of the old ones as I get to them, (older than 7 years) or keep adding to the pile until I have all of them in one place??? 🤷🏻♀️
@@user-ei8rb7sj6c I would keep 5 years of paper and scan the rest into the computer and put on a flash drive. Then burn and toast marshmallows as a reward for finishing one category: Taxes. Then, move on to the next thing you pick up. What category would it go into? Once you know that, collect everything that fits into just THAT category. Either file it, scan it, or both. Continue with the next item...etc. Only work on the category that you create. This way, you are finishing something which is a HUGE accomplishment, even if it's a small category. You can do this! 😁
For me, your best tip is sorting into categories. I actually LIKE sorting! My problem is that I have no energy and run out of steam really fast. Also I get distracted by chores or other things. This video was helpful.
Great summary of tried-and-true practices for decluttering, which normally I feel I’m pretty good with. But being shut-in for eight months now and depressed over the state of things in the world, I’m experiencing this new, unwillingness, laziness, simple failure to see the point with, and even hopelessness with decluttering my now, very lived-in, microscopic city space. It’s been getting to the point to where I have to spend an entire day to put everything back in place when I can’t take it anymore or because it actually can’t get any worse; whereas, I had been the Prince of Immaculate Minimalism my whole life! So I knew I needed to seek outside help and keyword here for me is “overwhelmed” from your title, and knew right away I had come to the right place! The huge takeaway for me here is setting a timer! ⏰ I have never done this; rather, I would expect to spend hours to declutter, of course resulting in...exactly! The unwillingness, etc. leading only to not ever doing it until those breaking points. Thank you a million times over because I know that this will solve my big problem as of late! I was not connecting the psychology behind why I’ve become so stuck in such out of the ordinary behavior. What seemed so complex is really very simple, but becomes camouflaged in the clutter of our minds, I suppose. Life saver, thank you. Hitting that subscribe button now!
Make a no gifts rule. Make it known to your friends and family that if they want to give you a gift to donate the amount to a charity. They can gift you a charity receipt and you can save it in a binder, if you wish, much easier then a physical - dust collecting - item.
I don't think I've ever left a comment on youtube & I've watched a ton of videos! I watch really short videos. (5 mins or less) but I am so thankful I clicked on yours!! It literally made me cry. You said everything I needed to hear!!! Thank you so much!!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer It made me cry in a good way! Everything you said was spot on! I just started my decluttering journey. But I've been hoarding all this stuff for so long and letting it make me so unhappy! And yet it's still hard to let go. Your video helped me so much! Thank you again!!!
I know this is an older video, but as someone that's obsessive with organizing, have been since childhood, I have to tell you that your advise is spot on!
Oh my gosh. I thought you were talking directly to me. I answered yes to all three questions. At the end of your video I felt much better. Your tips are spot on! Thank you.😊
Slowly but surely I’ve tackled different area of my home, yard, sun room and garage. So glad I found you on line - you’re like my newest buddy in these different days. Stay in Peace.
I'm moving to a smaller home so I have been organizing and de-cluttering my house. Your videos have really helped. I have my grandmother's dishes that have been in my closet for along time. I'm sure when she bought these she wasn't thinking that her granddaughter would still have them eighty years later.
You said everything I have been thinking and needing to do...thank you! I really appreciate hearing about what to do with gifts, as I have people in my life that won't listen to my wishes regarding 'no more gifts'. The thought is nice but if it causes the person anxiety then please give an extra gift to your grandkids instead. I have family items passed down that sit in storage, I am not really keeping the memory when it's stuffed in a box so I will let it go. Thank you Norrine for the motivation to get rid of this overwhelming abundance of things. I have my son coming to help me with my garage today. Cheers!
Thank you for helping me to not feel like a complete bum. The 'get real' part really helped me take a breath. I was like "there is NO WAY I can keep my office the neat".
Thank you - the tip for being realistic really helped. I’m a bit overwhelmed with a messy cluttered house and watching videos to get ideas - and it helps to be reminded that they are only a small window into someone’s life
What I like about your organising is that you can do a lot on a tiny budget, andbit can be pretty too. I enjoy watching your video's and get inspired by them. 🙂
Everything you said I already knew but hearing it said out loud puts it all into perspective. The tip I have often used is concentrating on one small section at a time. It really works and before you know it, it’s all been sorted and organized. Great advice, thank you.
Hello, my favorite tip was the one about not buying anything else until your room is clean and you know you have a home for it. I think all of your tips are very helpful and I need to watch more of your videos. Thank you very much! 💜💜💜
I’m so glad i found this ....actually its my husband that’s a junk hoarder...but he’s agreeing to let go ...so tackling the garage now.....its going well......you are so calming
This is my first time watching your video. I think you gave some very good and reasonable ideas, especially the timer and the reason for using it. Right now my dining room is what overwhelms me and the fact that I sometimes get flack from another family member about trying to keep things organized. Thank you for sharing this.
me again, loving your videos. Here's one thing I can contribute: Once you've put items in a bag to take to goodwill or ? Do not go through that bag again! No touching. Make your decision once and stick with it. I've learned this the hard way, lol.
I am so glad to have found this video. Currently decluttering my garage to make a nice craft space and it is doing my head in. My husband is a hoarder and cleaning out stuff is a constant battle.
Thank you for the video!! I had to watch it again. I'm starting to get overwhelmed. I needed to watch your video to give me some ideas and help. Thank you!!💞💞
I gave and sold and donated a 20 by 30 storage 2yrs ago full of my worldly possessions .and I regret it to this day .there was things I needed down the road and ended up regretting it .I had to rebuy many things that I ridden myself of.my thoughts were I don't wanted leave this mess to my children to deal with so I had many sales, I made over $10,000 in sales but nothing compared to what I spent,, I suggest you be absolutely positively sure you want to rid yourself of your worldly Possessions.just a word of the wise !
Our house flooded a year ago. We were displaced for four months and contractor worked for almost 9 months. Talk about overwhelming!! Almost everything is in boxes and house hasn't been the same. Setting times to work at least an hour a day after work to restore order. Like I said, it's been a year but I feel as though order is being restored. Thank you!!
Yikes! Amy, that is overwhelming! I am so sorry - You are taking the right approach with setting a time daily. Do you have anyone who could help you get through a bit more of it?? Work group, church, family?? My heart goes out to you..... Please keep me posted.
I just found you after watching too many others to count. This video tells me all I need to know. I am definitely watching all of your others as I have an entire house to tackle, 15 years of marriage & collecting. 🤯 So glad you are here❣️
I just had a huge break down today because my whole house is so overwhelming. I will just say that I'm still having some major anxiety about it even being out of the house. Your voice helped calm me down a ton. You have a soothing voice and a lot of great tips... I appreciate it. A lot. New subscriber here
Chaunté - I'm sending you giant hugs. I know it's hard. I have lived in the "not feeling well, so I let the house go... which causes me to not feel well" cycle. I have a wonderful Facebook group where we just support each other in all ways - if you'd like to join. It helps to be in a group of people who support, encourage, and understand 💚: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/
This is such a helpful video! I am looking around my bedroom right now and am filled with anxiety. I’m saving this video to re-watch. I’m going to set a timer right now and start with laundry! Thank you for your tips!
Just found you and subscribed right away!! I am currently re-organizing my craft room. Before Christmas my crafts were spilling into my family room. I got that all done......now the office/scrap room are being orgaznized. I will be using some of your ideas. YES!!! I have a problem throwing away things that someone gave me!!!
I am so glad that is in still up in UA-cam. This is why I have tubs from 50 years. I just add to the mess and feel more overwhelmed. I really don"t adding pictures to my computer. I have so many, but I have purchased a device to store my digitals on it. What do I do with high school pictures? Do I go to the 50th class reunion and give them to the away? My family doesn't need to have to deal with this, when I am gone, nor do I need to move them again.
Giving HS pictures back to the school is perfect!!!! They can use them for various occasions and usually know the reunion coordinator for each graduating year. Good luck!
I appreciate your honesty! I’m so overwhelmed right now, I feel like getting a huge dumpster & just toss stuff...but as you said, the guilt creeps in...I need to get over it!! 😉
Donating my excess things to charities I believe in makes it so much easier for me to get rid of things without the guilt. When someone tells me to throw perfectly good things away, I feel ill !! I hope you try the timer method. I tell myself I can do anything for 15 minutes and little by little I am seeing a difference. But it's slow and I feel overwhelmed some days, too. I hope you can find a way to keep trying, that works for you. Good luck, Beth!!
Please let me know how it goes.... and don't look for visual results yet - take your accomplishments in how many items you threw away, how many you donated and how many you made a decision on that you are keeping!!! Each item you decide on is progress. :)
I took 2 weeks and did the entire house. My mother collected anything and everything...over 6,000 mice and figures stuffed animals. An entire house full...1 room was packed full floor to ceiling...I got it all done, finally, it was a chore but doing 1 room at a time is key...work one corner at a time, organize everything, toss what you dont use, donate the rest to the needy
@@TheCraftyOrganizer ....I followed a pattern, much like what you wrote. Results werent immediate and it took alot of time. I am very happy now with a practically new living space
Way to go!!!! I've had to stop going to garage sales.... I LOVE finding treasures - but I don't need anything, and love everything that I own. Thanks for watching!
Going by categories and setting a time limit will help me jump start my disaster. And I'm also a huge "I might need this later" person. I was watching another declutter video, and it said it you're thinking "Well, I might..." or " Maybe I'll... " Then to just get rid of it!!! So true. Thanks for the great tips/advice!! Now I'm excited to get started so it'll be done and I'll be able to have a place of relaxation and not stress.
I am a "just in case I need it later" person too!!! Just remember, 90% of the things we have can easily be replaced. Thanks for the comment and the support!!!
Thank you❤I'm getting the courage to face my fear & anxiety about letting things go.... it's a process but I wanna start so I can be free from all this stuff.. People who haven't lost things or faced poverty may not get me.. I'm tearing up now😢I didn't know the clutter was effecting me but it has...I just wanna move on to a clean and neat home.
M.B. 💜 I hope I can help. If I don't... keep looking on UA-cam. There are so many GREAT videos out there. One of them will click and give you the motivation you need to get started. I'll be your cheerleader and offer any guidance I can along the way. You can do this - and you will feel SOOOO much better when you do. 🌺
Thank you for your thoughts on the sentimental things to pass on to future!!! I am sooo overwhelmed with beautiful things that I inherited from my grandmother....i was so attached to all that i have been shuffling around and trying to make them all fit within my home...which by the way is minimalistic in style...lol but she had such amazing taste and i feel so strange letting go but it is becoming a burden and i know that is not what she would have wanted for me and not what i wish for my own children and grandchildren!!! I have her real treasure in my ♥️
Good for you!!!! It's a strange thing - and so many of us do it - we keep the item, to honor/remember the person. You've got it right, she's in your heart. xoxox
My whole house overwhelms me but because of how you've inspired me I finally tackled my pantry! I wish I could post a photo of it here. It looks so good!
IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!!! You can post it to my Call Clutter Fairy Group page on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/ I can't wait to see it!!!!!! 🌻
I like the idea of using a timer. I never thought of that. My biggest problem is I have Fibromyalgia and I will start hurting so quickly that I stop to rest and don't get restarted.
Set the timer for a shorter amount of time - so you can rest before the pain starts! Then set the timer again and rest for a bit, then get back to it for another short amount of time. Then celebrate! ;)
Jodi Hepler , hi Jodi don’t feel bad I have that same problem I have sciatica and neck problems and I have to stop and rest and then the body gets cold and it’s very hard to get back at it especially since I can’t have my arms up in the air cause they get numb so that’s my question to fall fairy too what advice can she give us!!
I get a lot of pain/fatigue and I just rest a lot and go slowly. Sometimes I would ask hubby to empty out a closet and sit on the bed and sort or putt a chair near by so I can sit when I needed to. It really helps with the physical side. But I had to remind myself to take mental breaks too. On a good pain day I always wanted to push on but sometimes all the decision making would drain me and leave me exhausted. Norrine has a great video on getting things done with pain, I used the info in it to create my own planner and manage my energy levels.
JODI... I have Fibro. One task at a time... One day at a time! Start small... Get rid of "schtuff"!!! Lessto deal woth Daily and long term... Best to You! Hang in there!! PS...When in Doubt...Throw it out, Donate... 😊
Another invaluable video !!!... ❤❤❤... All of your wonderful, advice, tips, tricks and realistic views about real life organization !!!... What an ABSOLUTE INVALUABLE SERVICE that you are providing to the average person living life within our homes, realistically !!!
I've been watching you for awhile... you're a positive influence for sure! My problem is... it's so overwhelming! I can't seem to actually get it done because everything seems to lead into another...so nothing actually gets finished
It's hard to do... but don't look at the room! Just pick a small section and focus on a tiny spot for 15-20 min each day.... it will start to make a huge difference!
Loved your video, loved your manner. You are calm and collected, reassuring. You give sound advice that is doable and not overwhelming. THANKS! ...pretty manicure too 😆.
Hello 😀 Yes, I decided to begin decluttering in the kitchen. I’m going through each cabinet and drawer and am just deciding what needs to go. It’s easy to do once you have “made up your mind to do it!” I feel so great! And everything is looking nice, as if, to breathe fresh air! Next, I am going to work on the hall closet and then, keep going while I have the mindset. 😃. I think I will have an awesome garage sale in June 😃. YEA! THANKS FOR YOUR INSPIRATION!
Love your vlogs. Thank you for your calm, non-judgemental encouragement. I also love the idea about using a timer. I think decluttering will get easier as things start looking better. At least I hope so! ❤️
I always intend to sort my crafts into some sort of order but it's so hard to get motivated, BUT listening to you I feel energised, I only have a large double door wardrobe and 2 6 draw small units with canvas draws but everything just seems to get chucked in the draw "for now" ...I will try again and let you know how I get on x thanks for sharing and the inspiration x
Thank you again, I am overwhelmed by the garage. I keep craft items and trays in garage so when I am making a project I keep it in the same tray, and everything else are in craft drawers & bins or cabinets. However, my husband is a slob and he NEVER cleans up his side of garage. Oh well, I need to just do what I can without him. Thanks for these suggestions I am going to try when it cools down tonight.
Can you hang a curtain between your side and hubby's side? You can pull the curtain to hide his "organization" from sight while you are working with yours.
I appreciated the tip of setting a timer and concentrate on one type of item at a time. I have three areas that overwhelm me, so I will take your advice and set the timer for a time limit on each of those areas and then go at them each day for said amount of time on each. Hopefully it will all get done in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks.
I’m going to try a do what you discussed on this video, just don’t know how long it’ll take, but for sure You will hear from me thanks for the advice thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍💕💕😊😊
These are great ideas and right on target. I'm doing things in very small steps so I can enjoy the process and feel good about what I've done rather than feel overwhelmed with my stomach in knots.
Wow ! Did you over hear my thoughts???? THANK YOU - the best tip "set a timer" . That alone opened up a whole vein of hope that wasnt there before. I will be attacking the attic (we have lived here 32 years - in a big old house...oh my!
You are such a lovely person. This evening was my first time to view one of your videos. My favorite tip was under 'What if I need it later? Creating a dated time capsule container for such items is a great tip! I'll be starting on this idea tomorrow, on my day off.
I really enjoyed this. Such simple easy points, useable and functional in a REAL household. I love Konmarie as a basic guide only but understand I don't have a perfect family or life so being fair on myself is ok.
I like the idea of setting a timer. I am completely overwhelmed by it all, but have been trying to get started on one area at a time. Even then, I feel like I never have time, but if I can commit 20 or 30 minutes at a time, maybe I can get it going!
I would even make it a shorter time in the beginning - 10-15 min! You will start to see a change, and THAT will give you so much motivation! You've got this!
Thanks so much, I appreciate hearing out loud what’s in the back of my mind, it really helps! The current areas are my storage closet, finished living area & craft room, all of which are in the basement. But I have been taking time practically daily to attempt getting the craft room rearranged & de-stashing it. The rest of the finished area has even more craft stuff..the storage closet has decor items among other house items since I’ve moved several times & some houses had various spaces for items that I don’t have space for now. I’m also chipping away at that area. Praying daily for the strength to get it all done!!!
I’m watching your how to organize with chronic pain and depression and I have to tell you that I have lived in chronic horrible spinal pain for over 20 years no pain medication will do more than just barely take the edge off and sometimes not even that. It is so bad at times that I just wanna tear my back off or just go home to be with the Lord which I have prayed to do a couple of times. The depression not so bad anymore but I have dealt with it too so I understand what you have been through. I’m so sorry for what you have been through but I understand. I’ll be 87 later this month and it has not gotten any easier even though I’ve been believing and praying for complete healing. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone be blessed.
You are so awesome. Matter of fact I did do a lot of decluttering today and my craft room looks so much better. Yeah it does feel better without all that clutter. But it’s still a work in progress I need to organize a few more items. Thanks for sharing. Your kind words and positive attitude really inspire.😁🌹
What a refeshingly calm and comforting video! I am extremely overwhelmed with sentimental clutter and I am so happy to have run across your channel. I hope to tackle this elimination process soon, and will be subscribing for sure. Thank you!
WOWZERS...fantastic tips. This is my first time watching ur videos. You hit every single area I struggle with. It's like u looked in my head and made sense of it. Ty soooooo much!
You are a godsend. I am moving houses (apartments actually) with my partner on a tight timeframe after living 13 years where we are. Your videos are helping me make this a positive process. (AND having viewed your videos in the past means my current situation is less overwhelming than it would be.) Would love your take specifically on this topic, or you may already have one, or relevant ones, that I missed. THANK YOU!!!!!
Thank you. I know picking a small space and then sorting only one type of item to put all together has helped me. I just did that yesterday with all of my plastic bags. Haven’t been able to throw them out or donate(one step at a time) but at least I now have them all in one place. Just getting started is one of the biggest challenges.
Thank you again for the quality of your videos. Not only you share great tips, practical to implement, but you add this extra share of yourself to outline struggles a lot of us might face and drop down culpability. Being one, i feel it very reassuring and I feel less alone ! Your last remark about letting go as we share our home with other being is so true ! My husband and two kids are intense collectors. Even though I would picture myself living in a clutterfree space, this is technically impossible as all my effort wouldn’t balance there needs. Would you have some tips to share for implementing family rules that would help find a balance ? i’m struggling defining dedicated areas to give home to collectibles and empty (or not) boxes...
Sadly, you can't push or force others to adapt to a system. I know how frustrating that can be.... My best suggestion is to focus and control your space and your items. Often this example helps family members see a change and want a similar environment. My latest video address this specifically in tip #12: ua-cam.com/video/D8hAVASpBDI/v-deo.html
I'm glad this came across my feed. These guidelines are very helpful! Just what I needed to hear. Thank you! ❤️ I'm going thru my house and I get stuck on certain items. Sentimental things are the hardest to let go. And things I save to repurpose. I like your idea about dating them. 😊 And your question... Can I get another one? Thank you again! ❤
I like all the tips. Being realistic is one which I should definitely keep in mind. I will never be a minimalist. Heck I am a Brown Owl for a Brownie pack (girl scouts for America's reading). That generates "stuff." I can keep it down and manage it from getting out of hand but there is going to be a fair bit there. And I share my home. I like the bit about not passing it on. My daughter already struggles with her organisation, the last thing she would need is an influx of every sentimental item her mum kept.
Thank you! Great tips. You’re so spot on with passing down the clutter stress. It happened to me and it’s exactly why I’m so overwhelmed. I vow not to pass this clutter stress and anxiety on to my daughter. Love the timer tip!!! I’ll be using that right away.
Thanks for watching! Please leave a comment or question on what part of your home overwhelms you! Thanks for watching!

Wow! You just said what I’ve been going through for 15 years! I’m single, and my kids are grown, but something seems to happen every day, I don’t feel well, or I have pain.

I like the tip about concentrating on one small area and setting a time limit for tasks so as to not feel overwhelmed x
I love these two tips: dealing with gifts, and passing things along to the next generation. Thank you.
Wow, thank you Heather!!!! I'm sorry I made you cry... but am so happy to be here to help. ❤
Thanks you!! 😀
@@TheCraftyOrganizer you're welcome.
Cheers!
That makes me so happy! I'm glad you have help coming. xoxox Let me know how it goes!
Thank you for helping me to not feel like a complete bum. The 'get real' part really helped me take a breath. I was like "there is NO WAY I can keep my office the neat".
Love the idea of picking a category out of overwhelming clutter. I think that will help w our basement!❤️
It does! It almost becomes a game to find as much of those "likes" as you can! Good luck!
I'm on board with the timer! I am overwhelmed with my craft room. I am constantly trying to get all my supplies in better order.
Omg, I do this ALL the time 🥴
I do too, but all I'm doing is moving the same stuff around to a different spot. Emptying a box is great, but not if your putting it into another.
Thanks so much! 😊
@@TheCraftyOrganizer 🙂
Thanks for being realistic about clutter control
I like the tip about only declutter one type of item at a time and setting a timer.
Everything you said I already knew but hearing it said out loud puts it all into perspective. The tip I have often used is concentrating on one small section at a time. It really works and before you know it, it’s all been sorted and organized. Great advice, thank you.
Well said!
Hello, my favorite tip was the one about not buying anything else until your room is clean and you know you have a home for it. I think all of your tips are very helpful and I need to watch more of your videos. Thank you very much! 💜💜💜
Thanks, Claudia!!!
I’m so glad i found this ....actually its my husband that’s a junk hoarder...but he’s agreeing to let go ...so tackling the garage now.....its going well......you are so calming
That's awesome!!!! Let me know how it goes! I'll cheer for you!
Just rewatched this. ALWAYS inspiring! Thx Norrine.
Thanks again... I'm learning how to get busy and declutter!
Oh - that is GOLD!!!! Mind if I give you credit for that in a future video??
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Sure! be my guest!
I said yes to all three questions! I've been watching your videos and its helping to get me off the couch to get organized! Thank you!
That's awesome!!!! Let me know if you need any suggestions! You've GOT THIS!
At last, somebody actually said it! Thank you.
@@CarolineAnandSiddiqui your so welcome.!
Thank you for saying this !
Yes. Because the companies just don't make new things to last like so e decades ago. I shop goodwill looking for old quality items
I’m just wondering if the 10k covered the items you had to rebuy tho?
🤯 So glad you are here❣️
Wow! Thanks, Patty!!!!
I just had a huge break down today because my whole house is so overwhelming. I will just say that I'm still having some major anxiety about it even being out of the house. This is such a helpful video! I am looking around my bedroom right now and am filled with anxiety. I’m saving this video to re-watch. I’m going to set a timer right now and start with laundry! Thank you for your tips!
You are so welcome!!!! Keep me posted - I am here to help.
@@TheCraftyOrganizer thank you so much! I actually just got home from Walmart with all my cleaning supplies and new organizers!
I liked the tip of starting with one category and organize that so that room is not so overwhelming. Thanks!
Good luck!
TYFS - I appreciate the reminder of basically starting small!
You've got this. I'm here for encouragement and suggestions if you need either. ⛄❄
@@TheCraftyOrganizer Thank you 🙏🏻 for both!
My house is overwhelming, I feel it is out of control and very stressful, DEPRESSING 😵. I will try the timer suggestion. Thank you.
THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!! Way to go!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer ....I followed a pattern, much like what you wrote. Results werent immediate and it took alot of time. I am very happy now with a practically new living space
@@aaronking7326 I am SOOOO happy for you!!!!! xoxoxo
After liquidating a loved ones estate I became clear on downsizing and not adding anything without subtracting the same.
Way to go!!!! I've had to stop going to garage sales.... I LOVE finding treasures - but I don't need anything, and love everything that I own. Thanks for watching!
M y biggest problem at garage sales is Old cookbooks and Womens' magazines. I can't bear to throw any away either....
If you enjoy them and have space for them, then that is wonderful!
Thank you I like the time limit. I start and get side tracked by other projects. I need to focus on one thing at a time.
Let me know how it goes!
Love your videos! Great information and you've motivated me tackle that pile of papers on the floor that need to be organized.🙂

Thank you❤I'm getting the courage to face my fear & anxiety about letting things go.... it's a process but I wanna start so I can be free from all this stuff..
You've got it right, she's in your heart. xoxox

This is the best advice. I really appreciated hearing your suggestion on gifts and use of items with time limits. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Wow! Thanks for this...I picked up a few tips and feel validated in a few others. Wonderful video and calm presentation.

I am always holding antiques of my grandma's, thinking other family members will want them..thank you for the tip of letting them go
Loved your video, loved your manner. You are calm and collected, reassuring. You give sound advice that is doable and not overwhelming. THANKS! ...pretty manicure too 😆.
Such sweet words. Thank you!! Are you working on an organizing project of your own right now?
Hello 😀
Yes, I decided to begin decluttering in the kitchen.
Wonderful idea about ‘sorting one item type’ that just might make our multi-generational ‘storage’ house, easier to manage in small chunks. Thank you.
Great ideas! I liked the idea of picking a category
Glad it was helpful!
Love your vlogs. Thank you for your calm, non-judgemental encouragement. I also love the idea about using a timer. I think decluttering will get easier as things start looking better. At least I hope so! ❤️
It should feeling better with just one area makes you want to go to another area and get it done. Hope that will encourage me to get 're done..lol
Let me know how it goes!!!!
Thanks.
I’m going to try a do what you discussed on this video, just don’t know how long it’ll take, but for sure
You will hear from me thanks for the advice thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍💕💕😊😊
You've got this Jan!!!!! Set that timer, take breaks, and keep me posted! :)
This video has already given me clarity and it has rlly helped
I'm so glad it helped! 💙
How exciting!!! Think of the treasures you will be finding - and passing on to others!!!! You've got this! Keep me posted on your progress. xoxo
I love your ideas about the containers
Good practical- I like the timer- I do that and tackle one small thing at a time 👏🏻👏🏻😍🦋
Love that! I agree, it's the best way to tackle one small thing at a time. :)
You are such a lovely person. This evening was my first time to view one of your videos. My favorite tip was under 'What if I need it later? Creating a dated time capsule container for such items is a great tip! I'll be starting on this idea tomorrow, on my day off.
That makes me so happy!!! Let me know how it goes. :)
Wonderful simple and straightforward help!! Thank you. I love the time capsule idea!!
I really enjoyed this. Such simple easy points, useable and functional in a REAL household. I love Konmarie as a basic guide only but understand I don't have a perfect family or life so being fair on myself is ok.

Just watched this again because all the tips are worthwhile - thank you!
Thank you so much, Marleene!
Your awesome! Thank you for keeping it real. I really like your first suggestion on putting a timer for tasks.
Love the birds singing in the background.
I do too. xoxox
Just wanted to check in with you.... Hoping you've made some progress. I'd love to cheer you on. :)
Everything thing that you talk about was so ture and very very helpful. Thank you so much!! Glad I found you!
Thank you. 😃👍🏻
I think the don't go shopping until the room is done, was the best tip...
And a very hard one for people to follow. :)

Thank you! Let me know if you have any specific issues.... I'll make suggestions if I can. :)
WOWZERS...fantastic tips. This is my first time watching ur videos. You hit every single area I struggle with. It's like u looked in my head and made sense of it. Ty soooooo much!
Awww! I'm so glad my words helped :)
Oh my goodness!!!! Thank you so much!!!! So glad I could help. Good luck on your move!
Great advice love the idea of focusing on only one type of item at a time thankyou I will be trying this out later today
You have such a beautiful soothing voice .Great tips .
Thank you so much 🙂
I like all the tips.
Way to go!!!! Just make sure they are things she doesn't have interest in. Thanks for watching!
